Came across your video & appreciate it. I have these same crease markings on Hornady critical defense hollow points. Noticed when unloading out of my Springfield Hellcat. Many people have told me shouldn't be a issue just as you've said. Gonna hit the range later this week.
I am issued an M&P 40 full-size first generation pistol where I work. It creases the 180 gr Speer gold dots we carry after repeated chambering. Not a big deal, they still feed and fire just fine.
massltca so far the Speer is doing good. Also the Winchester pdx1. But I’m over this. The creases don’t bother me anymore. I bought more federal hst too. Love this 40 cal M&P.
I have same pistol. My new EDC and love it. I had the same issue with HST 165gr. Loaded fifty rounds and about 30 of them got that lil indention. Tried another box and another and ended with about 100 dented rounds. Took them to the range and they functioned just fine for me.
Jeremiah Johnson I love this pistol. I got some 165g pdx1 for it, and no dents in it. I think I’m gonna use my extra hst ammo for another firearm. I know it will still function but it still bothers me.
I use HST's as well. I have the same issues with the M&P magazines only. I have H&K mags and have no issues with those magazines. However, i carry the M&P off duty with those HST. I have no performance issues whatsoever with the ammo. It runs fine.

I got .40 2.0 as well and I carry with a fully loaded mag with federal 180gr hallow points. And I’ve also noticed the dents. I cycle them every time I take the one in the chamber out so they all have even “wear”. I’ve shot 3 mags of hallows and they still perform flawlessly
I have a M&P 9 2.0 I also use HST in my 9 it also has that line on it how I haven’t had a problem with it I just bought the 40 cal 2.0 also I don’t think it would be a problem.
Smith knows this. My critical duty carry has this, too. It's fine.
We had the exact same problem the Round Shot okay but we switch to Speer Gold Dot haven't had that problem since

Brass is a soft metal and will likely crumple. Steel is a heavy, hard metal, not as likely to crumple or deform.

Get ur self some good ammo buy the speer gold dot 180gr that's what I'm running In my 40cal

Gonna shoot it Thur or fri. I doubt it will have any problems but I think I’m gonna stick with gold dots. I’ll let you know.
This gun is bad ass though. Very soft shooting 40. I only ran fmj through it, before making this video. It ran flawless so far.
