Lorick has such a unique sound. Specifically this piece and his "Odessa" I think sound so cool because of the constant changing of registers with incessant permutation-y melodic lines. For instance like at 5:14, 9:05 and 10:20. You can tell this piece was written for the marimba because this is a MARIMBA composition. I cannot imagine this being arranged for anything else, and it's so cool because of it.
Wow, friend! That was a truly deeply moving, beautiful, and powerful performance, and I couldn't have stumbled upon it at a better time, so I thank you very much for taking the time to record it, even if that was two years ago. The universe really has its way with timing. Anyways, I hope this little note finds you well, and I hope you have been doing well and enjoying life! I am very sorry for leaving our friendship/brotherhood behind in the past, but I hope you know it's never too late to resume. I'd love to come give you a visit sometime, as the call of the mountains has been echoing louder and louder to me as of late. In the meantime, feel free to give me a call or text anytime, as it would be great to do some catching up regardless! My number remains the same, but let me know if you need it again. Take care, and much love to you!
Thank you! In my right hand, I used Innovative Percussion IP3105B Ludwig Albert Mallets, and in my left hand, I used Innovative Percussion NJZ-MT mallets, which I believe are now discontinued.
Thanks for uploading! If you have a minute, I've been recording some original acoustic songs. As a fellow music fan, I'd love if you'd check it out. It's on my page. Hope you enjoy.
the background looks like the storage room my high school had.
Looks like a percussion home depot back there haha...sounds great!
Haha, very much so. Thank you so much for listening!
