Silly question, but do Terrans ever do a Banshee attack in the 11th hour like 'Toss do with DTs? Surely it'd be pretty effective to send 2-4 Banshees into a base while the main fight is going down.

Max is really something else. First off I was like how TF does shin have 40 extra supply after Max's really good early game DT shenanigans? and I was like, wow he's dead, Shin is on something else right now, and then his archon micro was PERFECT and he turned the tides slowly until they were even supply and then took over and ended the game. Fucking brilliant. I really wish he did in person tournaments, he's leaving so much $$$ on the table but at teh same time there's something special about a guy who plays for the fun and not the $.
I love seeing Shin really moving up (is it moving up if you are already so near the top - IDK) in things. Always enjoy his games and style. Seeing him polish up the macro and keep the chaos has been a real pleasure
I disagree with removing the Blue Flame upgrade; hellions were supposed to counter zerglings and other light zerg, but now not so much. Make drones heavy if it's too OP.
Okay, how about this one: if Zerg is supposed to use Spore Crawlers to defend against early air, then can we morph Spores directly from larva? You use the same animation that we have for Creep Tumors so that you can build a Spore in a small radius around the larva and give it a cost of 110 minerals since you're supposed to build more of them. Then you don't have to have free supply to build drone that can build a Spore that can defend your drones within the first 6 minutes of the game. I say keep the health low and the attack high from there, but obviously this is a meaningful buff and those might need to get reversed.
Ok.... it seems that this patch has made TvZ about as frustrating as PvT used to be until recently. Almost makes me think like the supply nerf to ghosts should be reverted and instead something else should be done... maybe Queens could have their Transfuse buffed so that transfused unit takes reduced ability damage for a few seconds (so like damage from Snipes, Storms, Purification Nova, Widow Mine would be reduced). That would give Zerg players a micro-intensive way of soft-countering snipes that can be used from outside of EMP range (unlike Fungal). That would reduce the effectiveness of Ghosts against BLs and Ultras as long as Zerg has a few Queens behind them to Transfuse when they see the snipe indicators.

It definitely was bonkers that 40 supply of ghosts could eradicate 120 supply of Zerg's top tier units with minimal micro, and the only Zerg unit that could reliably counter the ghost was also hard-countered by the ghost. In that sense this dumb dynamic still exists, it's just more supply of ghosts required. What I meant was to suggest an alternative counterplay for zerg. Something that would reward the Zerg player for good micro and allow them to counter the snipes instead of making ghost weaker. Adding something like I suggested (adding a momentary "spell damage reduction" effect to Transfuse) would allow Queens to mitigate damage that Ultralisks, Lurkers and Broods take from snipes IF the zerg is microing well. If transfuse worked like that, you wouldn't need to nerf the ghost directly, as it would amount to an indirect nerf.

EMP is OP, even with ghosts at 3 supply. They should bring back the specters from WoL and split up EMP into one slowish attack that reduces shields while the other decloaks and damages energy.

If you are a zerg player emp doesn't effect you at all. That is like a protoss player complaining about storm. Go watch minecraft. It is better for your iq.
Problem: Zerg is completely safe from any form of attack for five minutes and is allowed to expand to three base with full saturation and there's nothing any race can do about it, even the most committed all ins and tech rushes are routinely stuffed at professional level. They then snowball the economic lead to hive tech, where the best late game spell casters await. The weakness of zerg is their midgame, but that isn't a weakness if you can't be beaten in the early game and are winning so hard economically that you can just skip the midgame. Btw, Shin demonstrated this against Byun, one of the most aggressive Terrans alive, and it wasn't close. At one point he was in a winning position by seven minutes floating huge amounts of money while hive teching and dumping minerals into overlords. He stopped creep spreading by 8 minutes and the game was never in question. Against Serral, Byun wouldn't have been able to re-expand to that front base because Serral would have had creep on it after he smashed it, not to mention the rest of the bases would have been taken across the map instead of floating so much cash. Shin's army control and macro was way worse than either Dark, Reynor or Serral in that endgame, so the gap between a great zerg and the best is even wider than this series suggests. Solution: Nerf queen HP by 40. They still get to be overpowered economic boosters, creep spreaders, and sustain on creep. They just don't also get to absorb literally every possible attack by any of the races, including the mirror, or queen walk professional protoss. Zerg should have to sacrifice economy to make units to be safe from attacks, just like everybody else. I hear a lot about how queens need to be good for anti air reasons, but why do they also shut down early ground pressures if that's the case? If queens couldn't hit ground units I'd understand that logic, but no, queens are perfectly good fighting units in the early game, anchoring each other with that massive HP pool. From all the patch games I've seen, the mineral swap between hatches and queens did nothing to fix the fundamental overperformance of tournament level play. zerg can "turtle" through the early game just fine and force hive tech with minimal investment in lair tech or time spent on midgame compositions, and the other races can't, because a zerg all in/counter attack, at any point, is game ending and they can decide to hit that switch anytime they want, they always have the eco for it. This is definitely a pro only problem too, ladder zergs aren't good enough to pull this off. I think most zergs have to make units to defend, they aren't losing so much of the advantage of the queens because they aren't mechanically good enough to macro and position them while creeping, they take harassment damage and that evens out the power of the queen for greedy zerg builds. As near as I can tell, the three base queen only play is a top GM/pro sort of thing, other zergs are already having to lean harder into ling/bane or roaches for defense.
Your patch could go through if SC2 was brood war and Zerg had actual hydras and decent T1 units. As it is, unfortunately, SC2 is a glamourous imitation so this would do nothing but fuck up the game
I was previously very concerned that Zergs were only winning 78% of tournaments, but after the most recent round of changes, I am so glad Zergcraft will now likely have a n90% zerg win rate. Very good for the game and to get more viewers. Everybody loves watching zergs win zergcraft.
i love how they buff protoss simply because they have the weakest pro gamers. i love how they nerf terran even though all terrans suck nowadays besides clem. one of the many reasons why maru dropped out and stopped playing. this is ridiculous
You "forgot" to mention that it was Serral who won the tournaments. Take him out of the picture and it is Terran who won most tournaments. But yeah, it is SHOCKING in a combatative game that the by far best player wins tournaments. You should make it that the best player doesn't win anything any longer. That's what these kind of games really need. Because the best winning - that is totally unfair for the others. I am quite sure I know which party you vote for...

Balance is the sum of the whole, what appears OP, does it result in an OP win rate. We've seen zerg win most tournaments for years, a single terran win this year is hardly unbalanced gameplay. Im worried Terran just been gutted.
Zerg has always been the most dominant race in sc2. At least when protoss whine it for a reason, but zergs always have been winning and they keep on whining about how the game is unfair for them. Even back when their race was super broken they still whined.
Why don't Ultras just walk over allied units, like Colossus? There's probably like 20 foot clearance to that thing's belly, ain't no other zerg unit that can't fit underneath it.
I can't believe he killed his own marines instead of throwing them at shin. Even if they did no damage it would get shin to run around and figure out, it would have achieved his goal the same but instead of taking all his time killing marines he would have taken shins time killing marines.
I actually think the supply nerf was too much -- but I'm not the one playing. I felt like there are so many things you can do to 'test' nerf ghost's effectiveness given their versatility, i.e. lowering snipe damage, emp projectile speed, auto attack damage, or some combination thereof, before just going for the throat. I actually hate the magic wand stuff for this game like snipes and corrosive bile, too. Just the complete opposite of beautiful marine micro.
@@atifarshad7624 Zerg units have to be. Every unit lategame sans spellcasters is specialized. Corrupters only hit air, Broods only hit ground, lings and banes only hit ground. And it makes sense rewarding the player that is juggling two spellcasters, three different speed ground units plus two more air units. Terran late game isn't about building more tech -- it's about spamming orbital. Playing just one do-it-all spellcaster + building orbitals shouldn't be rewarded. Everything else is automated whether it's medivac healing or Mules or widow mines or even magic wand snipes. I think if you're going to nerf ghost supply, you need to make Terran have a reason to mix BCs/Thors. Perhaps like the mothership, BCs shouldn't be able to be abduct-immune. Maybe neuro parasite duration should be lowered, etc.

EMP is OP, even with ghosts at 3 supply. They should bring back the specters from WoL and split up EMP into one slowish attack that reduces shields while the other decloaks and damages energy.

Problem: Zerg is completely safe from any form of attack for five minutes and is allowed to expand to three base with full saturation and there's nothing any race can do about it, even the most committed all ins and tech rushes are routinely stuffed at professional level. They then snowball the economic lead to hive tech, where the best late game spell casters await. The weakness of zerg is their midgame, but that isn't a weakness if you can't be beaten in the early game and are winning so hard economically that you can just skip the midgame. Btw, Shin demonstrated this against Byun, one of the most aggressive Terrans alive, and it wasn't close. At one point he was in a winning position by seven minutes floating huge amounts of money while hive teching and dumping minerals into overlords. He stopped creep spreading by 8 minutes and the game was never in question. Against Serral, Byun wouldn't have been able to re-expand to that front base because Serral would have had creep on it after he smashed it, not to mention the rest of the bases would have been taken across the map instead of floating so much cash. Shin's army control and macro was way worse than either Dark, Reynor or Serral in that endgame, so the gap between a great zerg and the best is even wider than this series suggests.
Solution: Nerf queen HP by 40. They still get to be overpowered economic boosters, creep spreaders, and sustain on creep. They just don't also get to absorb literally every possible attack by any of the races, including the mirror, or queen walk professional protoss. Zerg should have to sacrifice economy to make units to be safe from attacks, just like everybody else. I hear a lot about how queens need to be good for anti air reasons, but why do they also shut down early ground pressures if that's the case? If queens couldn't hit ground units I'd understand that logic, but no, queens are perfectly good fighting units in the early game, anchoring each other with that massive HP pool.
From all the patch games I've seen, the mineral swap between hatches and queens did nothing to fix the fundamental overperformance of tournament level play. zerg can "turtle" through the early game just fine and force hive tech with minimal investment in lair tech or time spent on midgame compositions, and the other races can't, because a zerg all in/counter attack, at any point, is game ending and they can decide to hit that switch anytime they want, they always have the eco for it. This is definitely a pro only problem too, ladder zergs aren't good enough to pull this off. I think most zergs have to make units to defend, they aren't losing so much of the advantage of the queens because they aren't mechanically good enough to macro and position them while creeping, they take harassment damage and that evens out the power of the queen for greedy zerg builds. As near as I can tell, the three base queen only play is a top GM/pro sort of thing, other zergs are already having to lean harder into ling/bane or roaches for defense.
Your patch could go through if SC2 was brood war and Zerg had actual hydras and decent T1 units. As it is, unfortunately, SC2 is a glamourous imitation so this would do nothing but fuck up the game
I was previously very concerned that Zergs were only winning 78% of tournaments, but after the most recent round of changes, I am so glad Zergcraft will now likely have a n90% zerg win rate. Very good for the game and to get more viewers. Everybody loves watching zergs win zergcraft.

Balance is the sum of the whole, what appears OP, does it result in an OP win rate. We've seen zerg win most tournaments for years, a single terran win this year is hardly unbalanced gameplay. Im worried Terran just been gutted.
Zerg has always been the most dominant race in sc2. At least when protoss whine it for a reason, but zergs always have been winning and they keep on whining about how the game is unfair for them. Even back when their race was super broken they still whined.

Why don't Ultras just walk over allied units, like Colossus? There's probably like 20 foot clearance to that thing's belly, ain't no other zerg unit that can't fit underneath it.

I actually think the supply nerf was too much -- but I'm not the one playing. I felt like there are so many things you can do to 'test' nerf ghost's effectiveness given their versatility, i.e. lowering snipe damage, emp projectile speed, auto attack damage, or some combination thereof, before just going for the throat. I actually hate the magic wand stuff for this game like snipes and corrosive bile, too. Just the complete opposite of beautiful marine micro.

@@atifarshad7624 Zerg units have to be. Every unit lategame sans spellcasters is specialized. Corrupters only hit air, Broods only hit ground, lings and banes only hit ground. And it makes sense rewarding the player that is juggling two spellcasters, three different speed ground units plus two more air units.
Terran late game isn't about building more tech -- it's about spamming orbital. Playing just one do-it-all spellcaster + building orbitals shouldn't be rewarded. Everything else is automated whether it's medivac healing or Mules or widow mines or even magic wand snipes.
I think if you're going to nerf ghost supply, you need to make Terran have a reason to mix BCs/Thors. Perhaps like the mothership, BCs shouldn't be able to be abduct-immune. Maybe neuro parasite duration should be lowered, etc.
