Love that interior 👍
I drove a 4XE Wrangler at an Auto Show last year and was really impressed with how much power the plug in Hybrid has. Nice to see this powertrain in other Jeeps.
I've always had a soft spot for the Grand Cherokee, and while I feel like it normally is best in a "simple as you like" trim, this 4XE might be the one I'd have.
Does anyone know if you’ll be able to get the tow package on the base 4*E Grand Cherokee? The online configurator makes it seem like you have to bump up to the Trailhawk to get it, yet they say all the 4*E trims are rated to tow 6,000 pounds.
As far as I know all 4xe's can tow 6000 pounds. I can't see why not.
$70K+ for a 22.5 mpg in regular hybrid mode, and you are "all excited for this family hauler". Was this meant sarcastically?
Well it's an acquired taste
Where are u seeing 22.5 mpg, I always thought it was 50 mpge, but I guess Im just dreaming, or I dont know what mpge means lol
Great suv it’s a shame most owners are never going to tow or go off-road with these vehicles
Might consider this be when they go rampant discounts again 😆😆
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
For the same $, I'd rather buy a fully loaded BMW X5 45e PHEV. It has the fantastic B58 straight 6 engine, 5 second 0-60, far more luxurious, and much better looking than the Jeep.
In fact, I did buy it. ;)
17 miles? At least auto makers haven't lost their sense of humor in these declining sales times.
I like it, just worried about reliability, especially for that price. Jeep needs to find a way to recover from the bad rep of the last gen Grand Cherokee
The last gen grand Cherokee is not bad in terms of reliability,it’s not great but it’s far from bad
That’s what she said
But why an “e-lsd”? Wouldn’t a Torsen or other helical lsd be cheaper and more reliable long term? Jeep is trying to be the next Land Rover. Silly electronic solutions for simply mechanical problems.
I’ll take less luxury and a cheaper price and keep the mechanics. My goodness $$$
Electric Vehicles- not yet for me. It’s got a lot of new technology. One thing about technology is it life span expires over 6 months. For an off roading vehicle it is capable. However, there are No charging stations in the mountains. The electric charge depletes with severe off roading use. For occasional off roading near a city, it is fine. I’ve never known anyone who doesn’t carry food & supplies for a cross country day trip. Vehicle’s weight is another factor in battery life.
Well the idea is that the 25mi EV range is for your commute and grocery getting, but if you want to go out to the mountains or on a road trip, just fire up the gas engine and use it like a normal Jeep.
Screw plug ins, just go all the way and release a proper jeep EV already
Sadly this is not a true 4x4 more of a SoftRoader. But a true 4x4 like a LandCruiser or Nissan Patrol designed for Remote Location hostile environments. Should be Straight 6 Turbo PHEV. That would be the perfect overkill and redundant drive train for that Niche specialized use case. But yeah PHEV for a Mall Crawler is stupid.
25 all electric miles is simply a joke. Realistically, you need 50 to 100 miles of range for whole day commuting.
Making these cars with such low electric range is simply a way for big auto to cheat emissions standards and benefit from subsidies.
It more boils down to how much of a horribly inefficient brick it is, because 17 kWh is not a small battery, but in comparison the Escape PHEV gets 37 miles out of a 14 kWh battery.
@@ashton9699 we have a Chevy Volt that my wife bought new in 19 and drove until she bought a model y. The volt has an 18kw battery and does 40 miles in winter and about 64 in the summer.
60 miles was more than enough range for 90% of the time but on weekends it would switch to gas mode.
That's why I say you really need 100 miles of range. 25 miles of electric range is not going to save you a ton of money. My college kid drives the volt now, he definitly tries to keep it in ele tric mode as he plugs in at home or at school for free but if he has to fill up gas that comes out of his pocket.
No way full electric...hybrid yes
Really? You're touting a 25 mile range on one charge? BS. Jeep you're wrecking your credibility, come back when you're Cherokee can go at least 200 miles on a charge.
