Canva is a great tool - your channel is awesome, Nicky. I didn't know you could do text masks in Canva so am definitely going to try this. Really easy to follow tutorial - I learnt a few tricks from this video. Thank you. Pleased to see your channel doing well - you deserve the success.
Thanks so much for watching, Carlos, and for your kind words. I hope my tutorials help you to create really stand-out graphics to market your business.
Very cool, Nicky!! Canva gets better and better with every video you share a 'how to' on. Thank you!! BTW Does the file size dramatically increase because of all the copies of the photos? Just curious....
I'm so glad you enjoyed this, Vicki! Good question about the file size. I always make a point of compressing all images and videos before uploading them to social media, my website, etc, otherwise they can get bulky.
Dear Nicky, I did my best to replicate the work in this video. however, I wanted to do the flamingo text, and it seems the image will follow the letters orientation, which brings problems at the end, as one cant match the vertical over horizontal background picture. I understand how it can be done as in your RELAX image tutorial, but how can we do the Flamingo one? Many thanks.
Yes it's very important not to turn around the letter frames, otherwise the photo will also rotate. Thete is a trick you can use to get around this problem. I'll see if I can do a video about it soon.
I love this tutorial!! Can you please tell me how to get the flamingo one. This would be great for me to use on my newsletters in my classroom. I’m still new to canva and your tutorials are great!!
Hi Kristin I found the flamingo photo on Canva. Try searching "Flamingo" under photos, or "vacation". Sorry its not a recent video so I don't know exactly where it is ;)
@@NickyPasquier I think what I was meaning was the design. Where it was white with the letters on half and picture on the other half. Like I said I am new still but I am loving your videos and how detailed you explain everything!!! Thank you for responding!!
@@kristenhicks2038 ah sorry! Yes add a white square or rectangle over part of the photo. Then add your letter photo frames right next to the edge. Follow the instructions as per my video 💞🦩
Thanks but how do I make the interior of closed letters like O or the top of. A become transparent. The PNG always leaves them the background color. Everyone would love it if you showed us. Thanks
@@juliedaniels360you might want to experiment with the new text effects, there is a text outline available there. Maybe you can find a font that fits exactly around the text mask. Let me know if you do!
I wanted to also mention that you don’t have to highlight and paste the color code, you can just click the paint roller and then click the item you want color repeated. Works with fonts too.
Yes Nicky! Great tutorial. Easy to follow instructions & your voice is so calming. Love your videos!
You're so kind! Thank you for watching 🙏🏼

@@NickyPasquier OK great! Thanks for the quick response, Nicky!
Thanks. Great video. I used the letter/number frames to create a video showing the date of my next single release with fire in the text mask
That sounds amazing Joe! 🔥
This is BRILLIANT!! Thank you!

Can you change font style? This is nice, but the same font all the time. Any way you can get around this? Thnk you, for such great tutorial 👍
Yes you can change the font if you like.

Go you!!

That's the point of a text mask, so the interior of a letter 'O' matches the background ;)
That is a really great tutorial, thank you 🙏🏻

Amazing , thanks just what I needed
You're welcome. It's so simple to do isn't it?

Is it possible to create a mask with a group of letters..I mean, import all the letters necessary to form a word, and use this entire word as a mask ?
No because you need them to be photo frames to have a mask effect.
@@NickyPasquier Thanks for your quick answer.. I'll keep trying .
Did you realise there are letter frames in Canva?
@@NickyPasquier Yes, I did ( I think..) I try to group them and use the whole word as a single "frame", to no avail so far..still trying, it's fun.
Well explained. Liked and subscribed (check). Thank you for taking the time to go over this.
You're very welcome 💗
Liked and subbed with thanks.
Thank you Chris.
Cool
Thank you so much 😊
Thank you
Is there a way to outline the text after the masking?
Hmm...do you mean a simple line around the text Julie?
@@NickyPasquier yes :)

I think you're talking about the Copy Style feature? If so it's not going to work in this case since it's the filter code you need to use ;)
