Have been using Canva for over 4+ years and created over 3,000+ designs and learned SO much from this video. You saved my life showing me what the lock button does. Thank you!
Canva is my absolute favorite tool and I can't wait to up-level my Canva game thanks to you, Natalie! This video is pure gold and a must watch for all!! :)
Thank you so much for explaining this in an easy to understand way for those of us totally new to Canva like me. You have a true gifting. You were easy to understand and didn't leave me asking "where did she click to get that to come up?" like I have often with other tutorials. I so appreciate that because being completely new they still had me lost & frustrated where you always showed or at least said click here to open this. So easy to follow. You're a Godsend to me as a beginner with no prior background. Thank you I'm subscribing. I have a lot to learn as quickly as possible. Keep up the great work. It's excellent.
Thank you so much Tina! 🙏 And I'm so happy that the tutorials helped you out so much. This was my goal all along - to make sure everyone has a great understanding of these tools to go ahead and start creating themselves. Good luck with everything and I appreciate you being here! 😊
Thank you for explaining the things that designers of different levels have wondered about. Thank you for speaking slowly enough for your listeners to have a chance to take in new information. Looking forward to more videos!
You can go to settings on the video (click on the cog wheel) and slow down the "Playback Speed" to .75. That helps me as I like to listen slowly hahaha
I just clicked on this out of passing interest--you are AMAZING! I had to stop and pause and rewind many times, just to play along and try everything out, which is SO much better than the instructional vids that waste tons of time between tips. Congratulations on being a great teacher and polished presenter and creator. I've subscribed, and will DEFINITELY be watching more of your stuff. THANK YOU!!!
PART II is up (more, not shared before Canva Tips and Tricks) HERE: ua-cam.com/video/G7Bf63gYm54/v-deo.html 🚨 *UPDATES THREAD 13/09/2021!* 🚨 Please read before asking a question about missing some functions 😊 You can try out *Canva Pro for FREE for 45 days* by following this link 👉 natalia.link/canva 💻 Since I recorded this tutorial, Canva has changed a few things and they may be located in a different place. The options to show guides, rulers, margins and print bleed has now been moved under the File tab so easily accessible from there. To change to a Grid View, you can now click in the bottom right corner of the editor on the small layer icon (indicating the number of pages) right next to the percentages. Grid View is only available when you have more than one page in your design. As far as I know, what was called the Thumbnail view is now available only for any video format designs. *ELEMENTS TAB MERGED* : You can now find most of the tabs from the left panel in a collective Elements Tab which now includes the Photos, Elements, Video and Audio. If you search for something, these tabs will appear under the search bar as well.
Just viewed your 20 tips and trick and love it. I was blown away that Canva has many of the functions and shortcuts I used in my life before retirement. I now live off an iPad. Would love a tutorial for what you can and cannot due from an iPad. Thanks for a great video.
Really good work! Thank you so much for the tips :D I will add as a #tip that: when I feel that I am at 60% of the progress on Canva but still I am not satisfied with the result (because of many reasons) then I copy the page that I am working on 2 - 3 times so I can try at each copy whatever I have on my mind( different font, different color, bla bla bla). In the end, I can select the best option, according to what is matching best! So, I have worked almost in every possible way and I chose the best (according to my aesthetic)!
TOP app, I use the PRO version. Found it with a HUGE discount and now I can't imagine my work with it in any other way. Quick background remove - I absolutely love it
Totally agree, Eugen! What a great app it is. I use to work with Photoshop all the time, and although I love it so much, Canva just makes things easier and quicker in many ways.
OMG!! You're fantastic! Since I'm fairly new at Canva, I had to watch it in chunks--not every day-need to sit with it and absorb. I will have to watch it again since it was so much information. Sometimes, I had to slow down the speed so I could absorb. I would love a tutorial hands-on meaning as you go through each step we would do it on the screen versus just listening. It may be something to consider. Thank you so much
This is such a great tutorial. The speed of talking and your voice are both easy and lovely to listen to. It took me forever to watch the full video, cause I kept pausing to go play with all the new tips and shortcuts I learned.
I appreciate your kindness, Hermien! ✨ I’m so happy you’ve found this tutorial useful and pausing and testing out is the absolute best way to go about it. I hope the knowledge sunk in! 😊
Hi Natalia. Ive been using the trial version for the past 30 days and learning and watching your videos has been so good. I feel confident in purchasing the app now. Thankyou.
You're very welcome, Arisleyda! 💕 It's great that you were able to discover some new tricks and so good that you're already planning on using them 💪 I always say it's best to apply the knowledge straight away!
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I'm 60 years old and my daughter is 12. My daughter tries to help me with graphics, but I'm not good with technology. My daughter is too young and is still learning. This video has really helped.
Glad it was helpful! All the best to you and I'm sure you're going to learn fast. The key is to practice a lot 😊 Please let me know if you have any questions.
I work with photoshop a lot, but I love Canva as well, I had no idea some or most of the shortcuts were the same , this is going to make my life so much easier, plus the tips you shared I’ve never heard of or seen before, so thank you so much for that.
Hey Natalia, This was incredible. I subscribed and look forward to learning more. I use Canva also everyday for my work as a my church's media director. My colleagues love my work and I tell everyone that I am NOT a graphic artist. Keep sharing such awesome videos. One thing I want to learn is how to blend edges of pictures. I look forward in watching more of your videos. 😊😊😊
Awesome! Thank you so much 😀 There is no feature that allows you to blend edges at the moment. If you want a blurry edge, one workaround would be to blur the whole photo using Adjust => Blur and then add the same photo on top of it and remove background. Not ideal but works in some instances. If you mean blending the edges of one or two images together there is no option to do it currently. If I want to incorporate one image into a solid color background, I search for gradients in the Elements and there is one with a transparent edge which lets you choose a color. It's not ideal again but does the job at times.
You're very welcome, Ibukunoluwa! The Tidy Up feature has been available since August 2020 so it should definitely be enabled for you. It's in the top panel under Position in the section Space Evenly near the bottom. You do need to have at least three elements selected though to be able to see it! I hope it helps 😊 Let me know if it worked!
This is so cool 💯💯💯 I've learned so much from you. This is very useful for me because I'll be working virtually now, especially involving canva. Thank you a lot!
This is amazing. It blew my mind. So glad I've found this tutorial of yours. I've learned so much. So excited to watch the full tutorial. Thank you very much, Natalia! Lots of love
My God this was amazing ....I clicked on thinking I know canva let's see if she can teach me something new ....if I told you I learned 18 new tips would you be surprised? Great video ! Going to share this one 😊
Wow wow wow! This video made me soooo excited to try a lot of the tips you gave. I did not realize how powerful Canva pro was. I’m paying for Pro and have not being using it to its full extent. This is what I’ve been looking for. Thank you so much for this!
I'm so glad, Ebony! The Pro option is so great, but all round Canva is just a great tool. And the fact that they keep developing new features makes it all so exciting 🙌
Thank you for sharing this incredible tutorial for all the "extras" that Canva provides. I am definitely looking forward to trying new things with this program thanks to your detailed information. I am truly grateful that I came across your channel. Looking forward to seeing your full Canva tutorial as well. Take care and stay safe! Thanks again!
Holy cow! You have an astounding amount of Canva knowledge! I obviously have much to learn about Canva as it was hard for me to follow along with your very fast presentation. Definitely not your fault that I need the info delivered a little slower! I am sure I will be coming back to this and doing a lot of stop/start/rewind/play again. I subscribed after about 90 seconds! Looking forward to using your channel to up my Canva game! Great job!
Always happy to help Cherie! ✨ You could try reducing the video playback speed to 0.75 or 0.5 to catch everything that’s happening on the screen as well. Happy to have you here and good luck with your designs 🙌
I completely get it - there’s definitely a learning curve to all of these so try out the tips one by one and get comfortable with them. You can always get back to the video and take the next step later on. Happy designing Elizabeth! 😊
Wow love this, your presentation rocked, this was easy to follow and understand, i even took notes just in case I forget them all, I'm all about efficiency, so thankyou very much! Already subscribed yesterday after watching your other tutorial, great work again :)
I’m soooo happy to hear this, Sharlene! ✨ It’s amazing that it’s been so helpful to you and it’s great to have you as a subscriber ❤️ All the best on your journey!
Hi, could you paste the brand name/number for the Yuliia Czyz... (the label is cut off with your headshot unfortunately!). It's at approximately the 7:20 mark! Thanks for an informative video!
WOWZA Natalia!!! Thank you a million times....again. You just don't know how this "old" brain trying to learn all this "new technology" thanks you! xoxoxxo
Fantastic! I thought I was a Canva pro until I watched this video! I did not know most of these tips! So helpful! You went through the presentation part pretty quickly. I'm going to look to see if you have a video on just presentations and a tutorial on how to use it with all the tips you gave here. If not .....you should totally make one!! Thanks a bunch!
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video, Linda! 😊 Since I'm recording videos on content marketing, I'm not planning on including a Canva presentations tutorial on my channel for now. However, you could check out Canva's own course on the subject here: designschool.canva.com/courses/presentations-to-impress/?lesson=understand-your-audience . Hope it gives you some useful tips as well! 🙌
Omg this video is so helpful. I love it. I have been using canva for almost 2 years and I only knew 2-3 tips😱. I have absolutely no idea about these tips and tricks. Definitely going to use these next time. Absolutely love it❤️
This is called true value! Thanks Natalia. Subscribed. Wish to see more from you. If possible, please make a tutorial about other powerful tools like canva. Not like Photoshop, because there's plenty out there already.
Have been using Canva for over 4+ years and created over 3,000+ designs and learned SO much from this video. You saved my life showing me what the lock button does. Thank you!

I am so excited to find out there are rulers, guidelines, and the tidy-up controls. Best Tip EVER!
