This song never stops hitting just right. Best (worst) part is we all serve capitalism to some degree and the company man character is either us or many people we personally know. It's relatable. It's servitude. It's a grim existence, exaggerated in this utopic setting where the company can take more than your home and health.

I haven't played warframe in years, yet this song always gives me chills. A people stuck in generational debt, coerced into replacing their body with machine to repay what is supposedly owed. Forced to purchase their new body from the same people they're selling their old to, all to further a vicious cycle driving them all further into debt. Unable to even escape into death as their augmented bodies keep them alive in living prisons of their own flesh and steel. Yet despite it all, they sing. They may have lost everything, even their own body and form, but nothing can take take a person's soul.
@@606films9 it has to do with the new quest that launched december 15th, you need a necramech and a railjack to play it, i recommend not searching about it to avoid spoilers.
it's the opening for a city named Fortuna. While I was still on highschool my friend showed me this game, after weeks playing and enjoying the story I got chills listening to this for the first time what a great game.
I don't know why, but when the last two lines started being sung, I started crying. The power of this song is insane, the unity of the people working, it's crazy.
The song itself is killer, but this video deserves a massive amount of credit for visual storytelling. It relates so much in the details without saying a word. A couple of my favorite examples: You understand there is an oppressive regime in the "tell on your neighbor" propaganda sign in the top left at 1:25. You also understand that flesh and blood parts are precious and expensive, as the people with the worst jobs in the video have few or no flesh parts remaining, while the person that has the most organic parts is a child, because that's what a good parent would do for them.
The video set a bar for me to what to expect from Fortuna. Spoilers below: . However in-game, Fortuna didn't live up to the hype this music video had. Yes, it did live up to the premise, but as a story point it lacked any motivation and climax. Sure the Tenno came by, did a few shadow wet work for Biz and Eudico. Eventually the old Solaris United came back again. However nothing changed to Fortuna after the Tenno started intervening. Fortuna is still a debt-internment colony, it's people are still in-debt for life, people are still getting brain-shelved, body parts are getting repo'd (repossesed), Nef Anyo still owns the Venusian colony. The Tenno could liberate the colony, but the Tenno won't as there is no option in-game.
"I founded Solaris United the day an old woman had her pet taken from her. The day my best friend watched her arms be given to someone else. The day my mother lost her head. I founded Solaris United the day I sold my heart. To buy a gun." -Eudico
never played the game before, but heared the song and found out about it. This is the most amazing cutscene i have seen in a video game. The song alone is a masterpiece, lyrics are poetic and relatable. The picture of a dystopian capitalism is painted so well, i even love the the small details of different voices of both genders joining the song over time, even the smallest details like the crawl text at the ending showing profits and interest rates going up but wages going down, all of it is so soul touching. This deserves an award for this one cutscene alone.
I hum this to my baby nephew, calms him down every time. Sister in law doesn't get the reference but appreciates that it works. My brother chuckles every time.

I was humming this when removing peels of vegetables in a boyscout camp. A random other guy started humming it to. One question: Warframe? One answer: Yes. That is how i found a friend.
I can't do anything but come to tears whenever I hear or get reminded of this song, not only is it a beautiful piece of music, but it's lyrics are a harsh reminder of reality for many. As someone who slaves himself away to physical exhaustion where one doesn't even want to eat, every day in hard labour just to continue the unrealistic dream of ever owning anything substantial or even being debt free I can really relate. Modern life sucks, but this song is a banger. I've shown this song to colleagues over the years and not a single one is able to believe that a song made for a video game could resonate that much with the lower working class. some also came to tears about how increadily elegant this song was able to formulate the struggle. in that way it is truly a masterpiece. Cold: the air and water flowing. -the cold morning/night air almost every physical labour force worker knows on their way to slave away another day Hard: the land we call our home. -the state, the government, the land and the environment as a whole isn't friendly or soft towards you. It is hard and harsh, but it is home. it has always been. Push to keep the dark from coming, -Keep working otherwise you and your home will starve and cease, vanishing in the dark -maybe a hint of how 'working makes happy' or rather not doing anything makes unhappy Feel the weight of what we owe. -noone in debt lives a second without the lingering thought of it in the back of their mind. -We literally can't stop the progress of our race in any way, we owe it to the generations that came before and the generations that will come after. and if not because of that then it's because the massive amounts of lost knowledge if the current civilization gets lost This: the song of sons and daughters, -this is 'the' song for the working class Hide the heart of who we are. -it masks our pain in a catchy melody to make the people outside not feel alienated by the topic Making peace to build our future, -we accepted our fate long ago -without us there would be no electricity, no streets, no houses, no running water. we. build. the. future. Strong, united, working 'till we fall. -we have to keep going, even if it'll end uns repeating the whole thing to represent having to go through it again and again and again. the cycle continues. the growth must go on. And we all lift, and we're all adrift together, together. -we're all doing the same, but noone even knows what for. why keep going for another day? what drives the human to go on? instincts? or is it a deeper sense of belonging? who knows Through the cold mist, 'till we're lifeless together, together. -life isn't a warm fuzzy thing or feeling. it's cold, harsh and disappointing, but we go through it anyway. until the one thing we all experience. together.
This cinematic sold this game to me. And it's a _realtime render in the engine_: the Warframe falling from the roof is *your* warframe, which transitions to the gameplay. This was insanely impressive.
Ever want to find a herd of Warframe nerds, start humming this. Didn't realize how many of my friends played until we were doing a board game night and this got stuck in my head, so I just started humming. Must have been ten of us singing together, all different voices, a couple out of time, but it WORKED somehow and the fact that it did speaks to how well done this song is! That is a moment that will forever stay in my mind.
This is how you introduce a game. *This* is what you do to show the players what a massive amount of effort was put into a *free* game, just so that we could enjoy it more. *This* is the best opening I've ever seen to any movie, game, show, etc. Hands down.
It’s just an opening to a specific location in the game unfortunately. So a lot of players quit before ever getting here because the new player experience is not particularly good.
“Video game” music transcends just the gaming community, almost anyone working a hard labor job could relate to this song or at least find it good. Such a great song with so many meanings when you have the context behind it.
I just got to Fortuna, and when I arrived I wasn’t expecting an ENTIRE INTRO CUTSCENE with a THEME SONG BUT I AM NOT COMPLAINING BECAUSE THIS IS AWESOME
Right there with you. When the intro started and I heard the whistling I was like "hold on... This seems promising". Damn this was a pleasant surprise. Epic intro.😳
Don't lie, the most orgasmic part of the whole video other than the song was how the Fortuna logo slowly popped in and faded out. You can't change my mind either.
Hard the land we call our home push to keep the dark from coming feel the weight of what we owe this the song of sons and daughters hide the heart of who we are making peace to build a future strong United working till we fall and we all lift and were all adrift together together through the cold mist till were lifeless together together
It blows me away that this is a promotion for a video game. The song feels like a revolutionary anthem and labor song rolled into one, and moves me to tears. It's so good, man, it's insane.
One of my favorite things is that you can see the lights on their faces glow whenever the lyrics are spoken, because THEY are singing it. It's such an obvious thing, but it's a somewhat small detail that just makes it perfect.
... Five and a Half years ago now... I remember watching the stream live and I about jumped out of my chair that there was a new 'Corpus' open world. Then I kept repeating this video for weeks. Good times, the game is better now but I wish I could go back all the same, crazy how the three open worlds were made and shipped only a year after the next every time. Massive respect to you DE for making this place, and massive respect to the group who made the music.
The best part is this is actually the in-game cutscene for this area, not just a cinematic.

Even 6 years later, this song still hits the feels. We all depend on each other to make things better for all.

It makes sense the only parts that were artificial on the parent and child was the heads
I think for the heads the only reason the children have their bodies intact is that their limbs are not fully grown enough for their bosses to sell.
The video set a bar for me to what to expect from Fortuna. Spoilers below:
.
Imagine designing a game with game designers.

never played the game before, but heared the song and found out about it.
Don't forget 'Fixed Interest Rates' rapidly climbing.

-the cold morning/night air almost every physical labour force worker knows on their way to slave away another day
Hard: the land we call our home.
-the state, the government, the land and the environment as a whole isn't friendly or soft towards you. It is hard and harsh, but it is home. it has always been.
Push to keep the dark from coming,
-Keep working otherwise you and your home will starve and cease, vanishing in the dark
-maybe a hint of how 'working makes happy' or rather not doing anything makes unhappy
Feel the weight of what we owe.
-noone in debt lives a second without the lingering thought of it in the back of their mind.
-We literally can't stop the progress of our race in any way, we owe it to the generations that came before and the generations that will come after. and if not because of that then it's because the massive amounts of lost knowledge if the current civilization gets lost
This: the song of sons and daughters,
-this is 'the' song for the working class
Hide the heart of who we are.
-it masks our pain in a catchy melody to make the people outside not feel alienated by the topic
Making peace to build our future,
-we accepted our fate long ago
-without us there would be no electricity, no streets, no houses, no running water. we. build. the. future.
Strong, united, working 'till we fall.
-we have to keep going, even if it'll end uns
repeating the whole thing to represent having to go through it again and again and again. the cycle continues. the growth must go on.
And we all lift, and we're all adrift together, together.
-we're all doing the same, but noone even knows what for. why keep going for another day? what drives the human to go on? instincts? or is it a deeper sense of belonging? who knows
Through the cold mist, 'till we're lifeless together, together.
-life isn't a warm fuzzy thing or feeling. it's cold, harsh and disappointing, but we go through it anyway. until the one thing we all experience. together.
This is symbolism of us farming for the primes.
SnowAgent That and farming for mats throughout the solar system plus the Plains of Eidolon
