Ok one thing that seemingly everyone misses about the FFX laugh scene is it's supposed to be awkward and stilted and unnatural because he is forcing himself to laugh and right after both Titus and Yuna laugh at how ridiculous it is
It's still hard to watch, though, lol.
Plus, the forced laugh was a literal coping mechanism for Yuna to cheer Tidus up after Auron told him what SIN really was... he almost would've had a mental breakdown.
Those videos were like listening to a older family member with zero knowledge of a subject yet boasts about how much they know about it and shouts out stuff that is completely off the rails that doesn't even make any sense as they refuse to listen to anyone trying to actually help them

The thing with Caddicarus is now that he changed the format to covering multiple things for a certain topic instead of one game, video length can easily go past 1 hour or even 2 hours if you're lucky. I'd love to see you react to his old stuff, but that's up to you guys :) Those videos would be shorter and easier to manage.

It's very under appreciated. Caddy being a retro guy, definitely should check it out if he gets a chance, though.

To be fair, I didn't know where that track came from, but that's mostly because I was aware of Shadowgate, but didn't actually play it. So I've probably heard lots of tracks from it, but wouldn't recognize them. Mystery solved!

I haven't played FF10, but I know the context of the laughing scene, and I don't understand why people call it bad VA work. It's bad on purpose because their laughing is meant to be goofy and mocking.
It's not bad VA work, it's just a very cringe scene to have to sit through.
This. It’s the same reason some think OG Silent Hill 2’s acting was bad (the first time James runs into Angela, for example) because they completely forget the context for them, see them later without, and assume that’s how it’s supposed to be. Yeah, of course James and Angela sound off talking to each other cause THEY’RE NOT ALL MENTALLY THERE DUE TO PAST TRAUMA, so of course they’re not gonna be the best sociable people in the world, especially to each other. Can you still critique it? Yeah, but at least preface “it’s been a while since I’ve played/seen it” or “only seen the clip”, cause I do that all the time and hold proper judgement till I fully experience it.
Reminds me of that deleted scene in Terminator 2 where Arnold tried to smile by analyzing and mimicking someone else do it. That was .... Something

The title is a double entendre: the show took place during the Clinton administration, and the host kept using cheat codes. Hence, the title 'Gaming in the Clinton Years'
And 2 years after the original video released Bill Clinton won Game Of the Year. Gaming in the Clinton Years indeed. Which is odd that Bill Clinton won game of the year considering if he loved saying cheat codes then what would be his reaction to like a Minecraft.

I was first made aware of Navigr because of Retsupurae's videos on the guy. Still not sure whether the reviews are genius, schlock or somewhere in-between.
To be fair on Caddy not knowing about Shadowgate:
1. He has made it very clear in videos you haven't reacted to yet that his childhood console was the PS1, not the NES
2. The NES wasn't as big in Europe (including the UK) as it was in America; simply put, we didn't have a video game crash over here, so there was plenty of competition waiting for the NES when it came over here, namely the ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, heck, even the Sega Master System got a much better shake in Europe than America
But also to be fair, I didn't play shadowgate til I was in college. I went back to check out a lot of things I missed out on as a kid, and it was super worth it.

How about a reaction to The Dreadful World of My First 24 Videos by Caddicarus?
Back when I was a kid, we would play Legend of Zelda games with the guidebooks. I thought it was mandatory. I didn't realize Zelda games had puzzles you were meant to solve on your own, I thought you just had to have the guide to be able to navigate the game.
I was hoping you’d watch em chronologically by doing the 24 worst videos one first, but regardless great to see ya doing more Caddicarus!

Plus AVGN FF6 review, since FF was brought up in this, really good review of him beating the game for the first time. As someone who likes to research old 90s and 80s games and mostly listen to their OSTs, i have never stumbled upon ShadowGate through researching this. When i found the origin oof the intro theme a few months ago i thought this was an obscure game nobody has heard of like most of the games that Tim Follin has composed

"The era of FF6 to FF9 was considered a Golden Era" ..I include 10 as part of that golden era, even with the Tidus laugh. I would say the Golden Era kinda dies out with FF11 comes out and Square put their focus into Kingdom Hearts...
Also the reason why George Wood has such an outlandish way of doing video game reviews is that Flight of Fantasy was originally more focused on other outlets like movies, TV shows, and mainly Comics... but when the Comic Book industry was fizzling out, they shifted to Video Games during the boom in the 90s... George Wood was more of a comic book reviewer than a game reviewer.
You need to check out some of his older reviews, especially the Dingo Picture/Phoenix Games ones. The best one was for Animal Soccer World.

The reason Mario says Buh-Bye in Super Mario 3D All-Stars is because the version included is based on the Japanese Exclusive Shindou version, which added in Rumble support and changed other aspects of the game, including fixing the Backwards Long Jump glitch. The reason the line was altered isn't due to censorship. It's because Bowser is called King Koopa in Japan, so the line was changed to better fit the regional difference.
This version of the game was the version re-released numerous times in Japan, and Nintendo decided to use it as the base for the version featured in 3D All-Stars. It never had anything to do with censorship and was simply a change made due to localization differences.

@@cjnewman7550 No, you've got it reversed. It is true he was called King Koopa in early localizations, but his name was eventually altered to be Bowser in North America. In Japan, his name comes from a Korean beef dish known as Kuppa in Japanese, and the designers liked the sound of it so much they named the character Koopa. This naming convention also applies to his son Bowser Jr. whom is referred to as Koopa Jr. in Japan. The confusion likely stems from the name of the Koopa Troopas. They're called Nokonoko in Japan, so they essentially gave his minions the name he has in Japan, though as to why this decision was made remains unclear.
This is why the line "So Long-eh Bowser" was replaced with "Buh-Bye" in the Shindou version release of Super Mario 64. He goes by a completely different name in Japan, so having Mario calling Koopa Bowser in the Japanese version would have been confusing. Regardless, this wasn't the result of censorship like so many people assume it to be thanks to many people mishearing the line as "So Long Gay Bowser". It was due to the version of the game used for 3D All-Stars being a Japan exclusive re-release that initially never saw the light of day outside of the country where the line had been altered all the way back in 1997 due to the naming differences between the two.

Interesting fact about Final Fantasy 7: The story we got wasn't the original one. The original story plan was considered "too dark", thus them scrapping it and replacing it with what FF7 is known for. That original story, was Xenogears. Yep, the game that would lead to the rise of Xenoblade.
One George Wood quote he didn't include that I love is "If they don't put voice acting in Final Fantasy 9, I'm committing suicide"
