One of my favorite zones in TBC. Sure it was difficult to traverse, but the music coupled with the sense of dread surrounding the entirety of this zone made it so atmospheric and unique. Blizzard don't make them like they used to.
You beat me to it. I fully agree. Tbh, I'd say that to an extent, being difficult to traverse made it more interesting/immersive. It was a bit ...too much / awkward, in some spots iirc, but yh. But the real reason I love(d) BEM, besides the music, is that I've always loved that faint dark green, orange, and most colours used in this zone (and those ogres, lol). If Zangarmarsh had these colours it'd probably be my definite favorite. But now I can't choose, as usual. Maybe it's better this way tho.
I still like the zone design even in Retail. I believe sometimes it's too much happening in one zone, but other than that the artistic team still remains strong.
@@hawkstrike18 In my Ardenweald video I've shown mostly the 'blue zones', there are a lot of dark zones in there. Maybe I've influenced you with that. You have to experience it for yourself :)
I'll never forget the first time I viewed the dragons impaled on the spikes. A little horrific, but that's what really does it for me in this zone. I'm glad to see another masterpiece from you Meisio. Thanks always for what you do.
My first impression was that the black dragons were on our side and we have to rescue them. Much much later I've realized the story behind. Thank you for your support :)
This place blew my mind back in the day. The starry night sky was one of the most beautiful in the game to me. The colors they used in this area were just great! Blade's Edge really made me feel I was questing in an epic place where only legends could live.
I might be in the minority on this one, but I loved this zone. Granted, without flying it can be a bit of a pain to get from the lower ogre areas to the upper areas. I always LOVED the music though; it sounds very ominous and sort of militaristic.
I didnt like the zone too much tbh but after playing the game up to Cataclysm back in the days, the "Evergrove/Ruuan Weald" soundtrack is definitly my favorite track in the whole game. And the funfact, I think it was just in 2 small zones in Blade Edge Mountains.
This zone was very time-consuming when completing the seeker achievement, but also very enjoyable exploring it. There are no over zones quite like Blades Edge.
@@philipdufour7233 Yeah. He even said in some old interview like he wrote some tracks for Diablo II and they weren't fitted the game so he just repurposed them for WoW.
@@Wishko1250 I think those tunes we're for a canceled Diablo III project that we only managed to see in some early beta screenshots on the internet. Most of the music was canibalized for TBC, Uelmen said so himself. :)
When first i enterrd this zone was great presure , Outland zones had this effect on all of us while leveling up and going first time in each one of them . When WOW was great ....
I never really been there, so I have no real attachemnt for this zone. This is why it's going to be interesting to watch! Thank you for your work! It's great to start the week like this!
As a fan of warcraft since the early rts games and seeing the development of outland from wc2 to wc3 to tbc. Warlords of draenor was my most anticipated expansion. I loved the idea of seeing all the cool stuff like blades edge and zangarmarsh back before they were all broken. They cut so much from that game, I was so disappointed...
I don't think we got a bad deal with the world from Draenor though. A lot of beautiful zones there. But fair point, indeed, we should've had a Blade's Edge and a Zangarmarsh zone. Salutations :)
@@Meisio world was great, but there were a lot of storyline that didn't go anywhere. For instance farahlon, the shattrath raid. There were also a group of ancients in blades edge mountains that I thought were going to be tied to the evergrowth/botaani. Oh well, maybe wod2 will give us something
Gah! It's killin me! What's that "chiming" noise sampled from the end of the video (58:59)? I can't find it anywhere, but I keep hearing it! Oh, and uh, keep up the good work!
@@Meisio I know, since last year (took me a while to dig up some tracks' composers, obviously, lol...). And it all makes sense since I found out, TBC was just something else and I'd say it's mostly the music and certain landscapes. I generally prefer the mobs and dungeons of classic, for example.

Wait... what news about BC?!?!
Blizzcon '21 is coming soon (19-20 February). They will reveal a lot of things about TBC classic there :)
The fact you can hear the crystals humming at 48 minutes in is a very nice touch.

We already agreed that it's better not to have just one favorite @Hawkstrike18+ :)
@@Meisio from what I've seen from your videos, I think I like Maldraxxus the most. Ardenweald is... too... blue ;/ xD

The music of TBC is something out of this world. The work they did BUILDING another reality has no rival.
Damn true

0:18:25 Sylvanaar - always my one of my favorite ambient TBC pieces.

All the Burning Crusade zones are now complete! Thank you Meisio!
Well... no... I've realized that I am missing Exodar and Sunwell Plateau...
I'll finish them soon I hope >.

How come lots of the “dry walk” songs are so Diablo-like ? Ahah and I never noticed. Thank you so much for your work meisio.
Actually almost all of them have this Diablo ambiant sounds feeling :-)

There were some cute night elf girls in Sylvanaar. Maybe that can create more focus on the zone!? Careful though, they have an attitude :)

Thanks for the video Meisio! Keep up the great work and much love to you
Always! Love you too Till! :)
Fun thing to do is summon your guild member at the very end of a tip of the spikes and hope they fall.
TBC
Soon! :)
Thank you for continuing to make these ;).
My pleasure Nicolas.
P.S.: Happy to see you back :)
TBC was such a great XPac, damn good
Hey it’s the zone I haven’t been in in around 10+ years
Muchas gracias por el vídeo, esta música me encanta y esta zona es mi favorita 🙂
For me it was strangletorn vale of outland.
Not a lot of trees here, but a slaughter nonetheless :D

it will definitely be fun to kill the sons of gruul and do those ogre war quests 13 years later once again :)
Tough ones to kill. "Beautiful" creatures :)
something that is missing from wow those days is the good music behind every zone..
are you serious?!
Maybe @paklos is a big fan of Diablo like music!?
Ohh the amount of dailies I did here haha.
Ha, Matt Uelmen and Derek Duke, again ;)
Most of the TBC was their doing :)

This was probably my least favorite zone in all the game up to warlords when I stopped playing.
