Great vid as always. I’ve got a 330e and love the hybrid. Hardly ever use petrol at the moment.
Thanks James really pleased you are enjoying the content 😊. 330e is also a really good car just a massive price difference between the 2
I have just ordered one and watched almost every video on UA-cam, this is the best! Thanks, so many little details missed in other videos.
Well done on the new car and appreciate your nice comments
nice job mate :)
Very detailed and informative review
Thank you , working your way through my latest videos :)
@@DamoDrives I am indeed :)
Ty very informative
Why does it not charge the electric battery when just driving without breaking ?
Great video best on net 😎
Thank you glad you enjoyed the video, it will charge when breaking or when you lift of the accelerator. I would suspect the mpg would be terrible if you could charge and drive as you asked the fuel consumption would be so bad no one would buy them as the point of this type of car is being as efficient as possible (just guessing though)
@@DamoDrives I see. So none plug-in hybrids barely charge themselves…only when braking or foot off accelerator…THIER overall mpg must just be 55mpg or so realistically
I think you are correct, they use the electric motor turning in the opposite direction to create charge for the battery. I have done a couple of tests charging the battery while driving to see what happens to the mpg and it is surprising. ua-cam.com/video/RpsND88vRlQ/v-deo.html
@@epcode5121 you can actually do that, it has that possibility, charge the electric while driving. But you will be spending more fuel.
Very informative review highlighting the key aspects. The dealer close to my home is offering it at the same price as the 1.5 eTSI. The 1.5 eTSI can give about 6.5 l/100 km in mixed driving conditions.
I am interested in this vehicle but I do not have access to home charging. How much fuel efficiency can I expect from it if I only drive in Hybrid mode and do not charge the battery (only let the regenerative braking do the charge) ?
I do not know what you would get not using the EV side of the car but it would certainly not as good. Remember you could charge it when out and it does not have to be 100%. Not sure what it is like where you are but in the UK we have charging stations in car parks , super markets and obviously petrol stations. With me it would be go shopping and get a quick 30-40 minute charge
In Germany where I stay I have street parking and so cannot charge it at home. Yes occasionally I can charge it while shopping maybe once in a week. But how long will a full battery last in hybrid mode ? And what kind of mpg or l/100km can I expect in hybrid mode in motorway driving ?
Good to remember the rest of the world gets cars we are not familiar with here in the U.S.! Hate the dratted grill, can't wait until that big grill phase passes away. Hint on the back pockets: I used to stick a little inexpensive toy in them BUT if the kid put something in it, the next time it would be empty. This only worked on long trips where they had stuff they wouldn't on a typical day. Nothing like odd odor, sticking your hand in to find something squishy or gooey, particularly when you couldn't figure out what it is after cleaning it out.....but I didn't want the goldfish to get lonely while we were away on vacation Mom.....not what you want to hear.
It always amazes me why this sort of smaller family car is not sold in the US or so you not get Seat ? Love the back pockets, for my shame I end up putting old packets in mine but when the dog goes in the back he sticks his nose in and pulls everything out 😂
@@DamoDrives I love my dogs but I have had them everything from light bulbs to the remains of a deer that a hunter left in the woods.......and which my German Shepherd brought home bone by bone...I love kids and I love dogs, but one better have a sense of humor if you have them around!
looking at the 1.4 e hybrid FR which apparently has a 128KW battery and a type2 ac cable and want to know how long it takes for a full charge?
4 hours wallbox 6 hours on house mains
thanks for the reply but sadly my order got cancelled by an idiot in the Twickenham dealership
My dealer wants 537 a month for it
@@justherefox7 its a really nice car and would have been in one right now had it not for the idiot at the Twickenham dealership. Seat hiked thier prices after the demand for hybrids increased due to the invasion of Ukraine and the resulting rise in fuel prices.
