What a cool trip!! Thanks for taking us along. I could see you two trekking into the woods after dark for a Hallowed Witchy Hike… lol… loved the video!!✌️❤️
Definitely miss your videos. This was a great though. I need to visit as relatively close for me. I love Jet Blue and was also freaked when I had to check my own bags and then print the tag, attach and deliver to the drop off…. Hey st least they didn’t ask us to fly the plane.😂. Happy trails.🤘🏻🥾⛰️
It's so nice to see a new video from you! I really enjoyed your girl trip get away. It seems alot of people had the same idea as you. Can you imagine how good the food must be to have a line that long? 😮 Such an interesting place, I liked the tours around the area 😊
I really appreciated your travel share. You were both pleasant and engaging. Some who share videos like this trend to talk excessively through the video or become anxious. You provided explanation, humor, and history. Thank you. Nicely done.❤
good to see you both had fun. I've been to Salem a few times. There was quite a bit you missed because of the big crowds etc. There are even better historic locations and restaurants. caramel French patisserie has the best French croissants and pastry in Salem. If you go again I suggest Hotel Salem, its in the heart of Salem on Essex street. Take the trolley and the ferry from Boston to Salem are worth it. If you search for best places in Salem to eat and visit it really helps. believe it or not the trolley is one of the best tours and you get to see variety of places to stop and visit. plus you can get on and off anytime day of ticket purchase. Halloween is great but too busy don't underestimate Salem during summer months. I found i liked it best around July 4th or early June. There's even a castle not too far from Salem in Gloucester about a 30 min drive. It can be a whole lot of fun if you research. p.s. there's a lot of film locations in Salem too, from bewitched to rob zombie flicks to hocus pocus to Hubie's Halloween etc. thanks for the vid.
Nice to see a new video from you. It looks like you did a good job of avoiding the crowds. I bet your food and drinks were just as good as the places with the ridiculously long lines.
Glad to see you up here in the Northeast! Salem is cool. Hope you can get up here for a hiking adventure soon, as we have some amazing trails, especially when the weather cooperates!! Lol!!
Loved your spooky adventures! We adore Salem, but usually go in the Summer to avoid the crowds. It has a cozy magical vibe year-round! I still dream of staying right in town to experience Halloween Night there!
Very good video its sparked an interest in me going next year to Salem.. something I never thought of honestly until your blog.. Alabama here Cullman to be exact you both were gorgeous in your 2nd day blog beautiful both of you!!!❤
What a great video! I live in south Alabama and took my teenage daughter on a summer trip to Salem and Boston. We spent almost two weeks in the area and visited almost everything you highlighted. I chose to stay at the hotel Salem right on Essex Street and it was great walking out the door and being in the heart of the attractions. Thank you for sharing your experience.
I am glad you enjoyed your time. I live in Mass and don't go as often as I like. The history is actually so sad but amazing. I like to go the first week of October.
I enjoyed watching your video. Looks like you two had a wonderful trip. Thank you for sharing your travels. My daughter and I are flying out of Gulfport,MS at the end of October into Boston and taking the train to Salem for Halloween. Our first trip together out of state and her first time flying. Thank you for showing Boston Airport. That is the only part I’m nervous about. Navigating the airport. And the train. Out of Boston. Eeeeeek. Did you have trouble with the train or getting Ubers
Such a fun video to watch. Looks like you guys had a ton of fun. Good to meet Chelsea - she seems like a cool person to partner up with for a spooky adventure. Some of those headstones you were looking at had the names of some of my relatives on them. If you saw ones with the last name Dodge those are my peeps - my relatives were there beginning in the 1600s. Additionally, a few relatives were masons back then so there was stone work done by Dodges in Salem. Also if you were wandering about in the area near the Witch Trial Memorial you may have happened to walk down Dodge Street which is named after my ancestors. And, lastly, you likely walked by the Dodge-Shreve House which is at 29 Chestnut Street on your way to the house on Chestnut where Hawthorne lived for a year. It's been a long time since I went to Salem. You've inspired me to go back down (shorter trip for me since I live in Maine) so thanks for that.
Better to go in the “off season.” You can still do almost everything there is to do in October, just cheaper and far less people. Also, the city is finally talking about upgrading the Witch Museum. It’s been unchanged since the last time I was there over 20 years ago. You’re also lucky you got some good weather. Record amounts of rain in ‘23.
Old Mountain Goat had hoped to run into Braides while on the AT. We were both in the state of Maine. Missed the opportunity and would really loved to have met up with her. Sorry I missed you dear and still haven’t made it to Katahdin. Maybe regroup with me up here and prod me along. Love her family! Ole mountain goat /// LC Hoover from 140 Fox Street Gilbert, SC. Salem is a total tourist trap, especially in October. I remember 8-10 years ago I went on October 1st. I had to park 1/2 a mile from town in somebody's backyard for $20. It was so off the beaten path that I almost couldn't find my car. I would say it is so over-rated but you would have to include such cities that have become over-run by tourists as Newburyport, MA or Portsmouth, NH. I used to constantly go to dine and visit these beautiful cities, but now it is even hard to find a parking place. You have to wait too long to get into a restaurant or bar, when before you could just walk in and sit down.
I was there a long time ago in November. It was empty. One witch museum was closed. I went to the other one. I didn't know about the other attractions if there were any then and I don't remember seeing any restaurants. And then I went to the House of Seven Gables tour. It was a beautiful area. But yes October now would be too crowded.
Really great video for some fall vibes 🍂 my mom and I are going to Salem this October and we’re so excited but nervous for the crowds..we’re going in the middle of the week to hopefully avoid weekend crowds. What time in the morning do you this is best to get there and have the place to yourselves? :)
Hi! i am going this October '24 what time the next day did you get to salem? i would love to be able to walk around and take pictures before the crowd!
I was wondering, what week in October did you travel to Salem? I’m thinking of going next year but I want to avoid the major crowds but still want to experience the Halloween atmosphere. Is the whole month of October dedicated to all things Halloween?
How far was your place from train station? I was looking at a place in Beverly and thinking of doing the same. It said 2 blocks to train station, but...2 blocks can mean a LOT of different things. Lol.
Don’t take this as criticism of the channel or video, because that’s not intended at all. It’s a great video, and I see so many places I’d love to visit in this video. The witch museum in particular. And the memorials to the victims of the trials. But most of all, this video convinced me that I do NOT want to visit in October. At all. However, I can see that I’d love to visit at another time.
@@HikingwithBraids That sounds really nice. It looks like a wonderful place to visit for the history. But maybe not so much crowding. Lol. ( Maybe it’s just that I’m old.)
Something you should probably remember, with out Columbus you and your little buddy, probably would not have been walking around Salem on that very day. Columbus started the progression of Europeans to the new world.
I’m from just south of Marietta Georgia and I’m dying to go to Salem. Halloween is my favorite holiday and Salem at Halloween is my dream trip. ❤😊
What a cool trip!! Thanks for taking us along. I could see you two trekking into the woods after dark for a Hallowed Witchy Hike… lol… loved the video!!✌️❤️
Great to see you! You have been missed! Thanks for sharing such a fun trip with us!

Haha glad you made it all the way through!

Good video, I like the steady camera work, and the walk-along pace! I love Salem! Need to get back there!
What a great idea for a girls’ trip!
I’d love to go there but not in October…too crowded!
Great to see you again .

This is bringing back so many memories!! We went last year, not at Halloween, but it was still an amazing time! I’m dying to go back!
Me too!!

No it was super easy! And the train is easy too just remember to have some cash if possible but I think you can pay on the app too
I always heard avoid during October due to crowds, can definitely see what people mean. Looks like you ladies made it fun though regardless!
Good to see you again!
Men was it busy over there or what 😅

Yep. I live in one of the border towns. No one who lives here would actually go there. There are much better and nicer places to see in the area.
I was there a long time ago in November. It was empty. One witch museum was closed. I went to the other one. Get up as early as you can. I’d say if you can get there between 6:30 - 7 am you’ll have it mainly to yourself :)
Hi! i am going this October '24 what time the next day did you get to salem? i would love to be able to walk around and take pictures before the crowd!
Early morning around 7 am 🙂
I was wondering, what week in October did you travel to Salem? I’m thinking of going next year but I want to avoid the major crowds but still want to experience the Halloween atmosphere. Is the whole month of October dedicated to all things Halloween?
Yes it is! I was there the second week of October.
Would love to know the name of your Airbnb....so good to see you back
It’s listed as Veronica’s Place in AirBnB
What's the name & price of the train station to/from Boston - Salem?
Does anyone know what is the name of the music that plays in the background? I want it for my ringtone 😂 but don’t the name!
How was the flight with JetBlue? We are wanting to plan a girls trip for October and JetBlue keeps coming up as flight.
I’m used to flying Delta and I thought JetBlue was great!
How far was your place from train station? I was looking at a place in Beverly and thinking of doing the same. It said 2 blocks to train station, but...2 blocks can mean a LOT of different things. Lol.
We were maybe 1/4 mile at most. About an 6 minute walk. If you stay in Beverly you should be pretty conveniently located.
"Cackle-Cackle CRAP!!😂😅
Hi!! Which day of the week were you there?
We were there Sunday - Tuesday
How much were those osters. Im thinking like 15 bucks or more for just those 2.
Nope. Like $2.50 per oyster 🦪 😋
What city did you stay in to take train to Salem??
I seen my wife and I on the video! I also put on my costume which was a big red inflatable Ballon dog
Sorry if I missed it but when in October did you go and was it a weekend? Thanks 😊
Found the day in the comments! Sunday-Tuesday!
Hey Chelsea!! 😁
I was there!
For the people complaining about the “ tourist traps” and parking…… just remember people are being money into y’all town along with creating jobs.
Hey someone needs to make a look alike head candle thatyou can personally push Huge pins into ,So you can "wake uP and See the Light, faux witches!"

I’ve heard it’s really nice to visit in other months and a lot less crowded. I’ve thought about revisiting in early September or early November.
@@HikingwithBraids That sounds really nice. It looks like a wonderful place to visit for the history. But maybe not so much crowding. Lol. ( Maybe it’s just that I’m old.)
🤎🎃
Salem seems like a nice place to visit, but not in October. If I went it would be after all of the Halloween hoopla.
Witchcraft is "NO JOKE."😮😢
Looks like y’all had alot of fun
Love the Salem trip but you surely do not look like Samuel L Jackson
😂
Salem, is so touristy,,,witches are treated as jokes,,,it is a waste of time and money. They even have a Bewitched statue,,go figure.
Something you should probably remember, with out Columbus you and your little buddy, probably would not have been walking around Salem on that very day. Columbus started the progression of Europeans to the new world.
Its crazy. People come here from all over the world to see basically nothing. Big tourist trap
BOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Salam cool but not spooky
Good to see you Gretchen
My wife and I are planning on going in October, any suggestions where to say cheap to take the train into Salem. Thanks
