- Trojan Ska tune from The Maytals. One of many famous tunes from Toots & The Maytals. Trojan was a British record label founded in 1968. It specialises in ska, rocksteady, reggae and dub music & brought us many acts such as Jimmy Cliff, Dandy Livingstone, Desmond Dekker & the Aces, Lee Perry, The Melodians, Dave & Ansel Collins. This Music was famous for its influences in rude boy, suede head, skinhead & was the forerunner to the late 70's & early 80's Two Tone Ska bands which grew out of British Midlands towns & cities. It was also one of the influences to the best British punk bands of all time 'The Clash'
