Lovely layout. Well done to those involved. I may be a Kiwi, but due to work assignment in the 90's - have done more miles on LNER tracks than any other railway the world over including my own in New Zealand, about 12,000 miles between London, Doncaster and Leeds in an 18month period)
Unbelievable. As close as it's possible to be to the 1920s / '30s LNE. Great to see the P1 and the 'Hush Hush' also, not to mention the Top Shed coaling plant. Utterly magnificent work.
So much realism, but what a pity the main model railway manufacturers have never developed model engines to actually emit steam.. In the search for ever improving realistic detail they seem to totally ignore the obvious and most evocative feature of all.
They did - but largely stopped doing it because of low demand and issues around power consumption. The Triang/Hornby version was called 'synchrosmoke'. They also produced a few actual OO live steam locomotives, but they were expensive compared to their more conventional counterparts so never really caught on. Most modellers seem content with DCC generated sound effects nowadays. At the end of the day manufacturers will manufacture what they can sell. ua-cam.com/video/gbQUcEtmSUU/v-deo.html
This is an amazing layout! It’s one of the all time greats! I could stand and watch it for hours
Just beautiful! *looks at his first Hornby and Bachmann locomotives and dreams*
An excellent model railway and well videoed.

I think this is destined for the Ashford museum of railway modelling. Fab work. Dad said he saw the Silver Jubilee express fly past in the 1930s.
Brilliant layout, realist speeds; but, the gear wheel load at 1.32 looked a bit out of loading gauge. Then again, probably my monocular vision!
what a superb layout, was that silver link on the silver jubilee, thank you
Where did the silver jubilee coaches come from
Really nice Video!
fantastic lay-out.
Very good video. 👍 🤝
Was Flyong Scotsman on there?
Outstanding. I enjoyed that tremendously. Are there any track plans available for this layout?
what coaches is sparrowhawk pulling
Magnificent :)
what is the loco shown at 2.47?
A Gresley P1, one of the very few 2-8-2 tender loco's ever used in Britain.
very nice
that is oo gauge isn't it?
Very Nice!
Dead right and magnificent they too but Hornby no longer make them. google OO Live Steam Club.
360p we meet again.
