AAAUUUUGGGHHHH, I wish I knew about this tool three weeks ago. I am restoring a 1920s garage door and the original door had five-inch long 5/8” dowels. I made my own but this would have saved me so much time. This is something I would definitely buy. Thanks, Clint!!
Wow, definitely would have helped Lisa!!!! Thanks for the comment!!!!!
Hey, that sounds like a cool project. Was it for yourself or someone else? How did you get it done?
@@dhebert111 The garage door is on my garage. I had to get the 1-3/4” wood from a sawmill and then hand make the dowels. I am not finished yet.
Great information! Thank you!
I just bought this same exact one a while ago, just made my first dowel!! Awesome tool
The $8000 board was a funny comment lol
That was on sale too Garrett!!!!!
@@ToolReviewZone
Actually by the time the video is released it's $24000 it just went up 300%
Hahahaha 👊👊
Yeah funny till you go to do a project and find out it wasn't a joke
🤣👊
Great video! Slicey slicing dicey diceing
Well done my brother, I learned something today, lol. Thanks..............
Awesomeness 👊
That's cool you just gave me and idea for my sailboat the ladder ripped off the back of it and I'm thinking about filling the hole up with two dolls and then using epoxy resin and fiberglass thank you.
That sounds like a plan Fishing!!!!
This is an awesome tool
Thanks Clint!! Neat little tool. Price is not that bad considering it's probably made hardened and ground flat tool steel. That plus CNC machining all the sizes ain't a cheap process.
It looks like they used a water jet on this? Great build anyway 👊👊
Wow that’s real Nace like!
Yoooo I can’t wait till tool tip Tuesday, tool tips for free yeeeeaaaaahhhh !!
Hahahaha, yeahhhhhhhhh!!!
Thanks cuzzy!!!
Man that's awesome,I've got the little bits you put in the drill to cut out little 1 in dowels, I would love to buy one but wood prices are so high I can't make enough furniture to justify owning it, $8,565 for a 2x4 is a lot of money
Hahahaha, yeah... lumber still a bit pricey Andrew 🤣🤣
How long ( feet of hardwood) would that stay sharp in your opinion ? Is there a means to hone it occasionally ? Interesting and thanks for the demo.
I have my Grandfather's drawknife and a yard, so I never run out of round stock. I like lilac for handles and tree branches for hammer heads, but hey, you do you.
Nice dowalage Clint! Gotta love tools like this. I’m a big fan of specific tools like this that save time and money. Keep bringing us more 😉
I'll keep looking Fla!!!👊
Clint you crack me up your comedian that's your real calling in life not a tool reviewer lol good video thanks for the cheer up
Never saw that before lots of potential there
Use a socket in your drill to hold the square piece of wood instead of trying to whittle it down to fit in the chuck
There is a socket tool for that/ 1 size fits all.
when dat intro low key effective AF *subscribes*
Looking forward to seeing how you make yours. I've done a couple of types and they are OK. Great tool, BTW.
There are definitely a few ways of doing it Jim. The one I did seems to work OK
Pretty neat
Best tool I never knew I needed thx. What we both need next is a cross-cut sled Haha I'm waiting for plywood to go down a lil more before i make one.
Ikr, freaking sold two of my kits for that 2x4 in the vid bro
Who else wants a “REALLY COOL TOOL!!!” shirt?!?🙏👍🏻🔥
Haha, " I have a really cool tool" shirt... I like it 😆. Need to see this first batch first though
That was almost a "Tool Tip." I'm so excited for tomorrow's video!
Haha, nice!!!
Real Smooth Like
Haha
Nice
Appreciate it Clint 👍
And you Jamal 👊
Thanks to you! The item is UNAVAILABLE NOW!!!
Earned my sub. Nice video
Awesomeness! Welcome to the channel MySickstring!!!!
I need one of these in my life.
Lol, yeah... they are pretty cool
I wonder if I could use this to make arrows?
If you are going to use channel locks to make indents so glue will bond better, wouldn't it make more sense to just leave it rough and not sand it?
I like the low lumber prices you get! Where do you get it?
😄 🤣 😂
8K for a piece of wood, I feel you on that, lol. I'm just trying to make some utility shelves, these wood prices are ridiculous.
They are still insane brother 😭
You are hilarious, a pleasure to watch
Awesome, thanks ks Joseph!!!!
What a deal!
Hahaha
34K! Awesome!
This is like real nice.
Lol 😆👊
Turn freehand on your lathe… Builds Character!
Narrative is good
Thanks Gary
Pretty cool!
Thanks Snarf!!!!!
Real naaaas like ❤
Hahaha 👊
great tip and great tool love it but I can't afford wood to make dowel
Lol 😆🤣
I've never seen that before and I couldn't figure out what it is when you posted it on IG, very interesting though🤔, I could make screw hole plugs with that.
Smeeesh that like button.👀👉🏽 👍🏽
Yeah buddy! And thanks for the SMEEESH Jason!!!
Lovve it
Awesomeness 👊
i wonder how long it lasts before it dulls
Real nass like
Buddy that's one of the coolest things I have seen in awhile...go get you a cold one you deserve it lol..but your buying
Hahaha, your to kind Loran! 😆🤣👊
Does it make a noticeable difference if you don’t hold the drill perfectly perpendicular to the hole? Would using a drill press be easier or more accurate enough to make a difference?
5:43 "you can use a drill press as well"
He doesn't say if it's better or not but I suspect it might be straighter.
It would be straighter, but it's kind of a pain in the but
What is the brand and where can I buy this
I've got the Veritas dowel maker. Very premium, but worth every penny. I like this plate though as it looks like it would be great for creating a quick and dirty dowel. Nice review!
I'll definitely check out the Veritas A B!
Dirty dowels done dirt cheap. Sounds like an AC DC song.🤔
Great video. I can't believe you get your lumber so cheap. Can you share your supplier or is it a secret? :-)
Hahahaha, definitely a secret 🤣 👊
@@ToolReviewZone Figures. All you guys with large amounts of "Wood" are the same :-) Thanks again man. Great vid. Never would've thought of this.
2:19 Where Bro! Where! That was a bargain!
Hahahahaha 🤣👊
Subbed
Welcome to the channel 5k3!!!!!
Your $34K jokes are funny. Liking and subscribing.
Hahaha, welcome to the channel brother 👊
DUDE I have an idea?!? Let’s go in half on a sandpaper refinery so we can recover the wood dust to sell back to the “MAKITA GNOME”!!! WE’LL LINE OUR POCKETS WITH FRICKIN GOLD BABY!!!👍🏻🙏🔥
Cotton, that Gnome is very, very pesky. Once we get the gold from him, he'll just try to steal it back brother 😫
@@ToolReviewZone shit😕
We use several hickory ramrods for the blackpowder longrifles every year. And as you know, 48 inch hickory dowel rods cost like a $122K each! Kinda pricy for a poor guy like me. I actually searched for a plate like this on Amazon and their junky search wouldn't bring it up. I will probably invest in one of these soon.
Make them out of Osage. I haven't tried it but I believe they would last longer.
@2:02 where’s your riving knife? Table saws are a ton safer with one, ask me how I know.
Great video as always.
On a side note, warning to everyone: 6:04 is NSFW 😂
I was going to post that as the summary of this video but you “beat” me to it
Was that a JP Saxe reference?
You asked if I have ever seen one before and my honest answer is that I had a Lie Nielsen one for years that I used precisely zero times. Surely, someone will be snotty and say we can just make one with ease. That is true, I could make one and also let it sit in a drawer for years. 😂
Those three pieces that cost $34,000 in August 2021 go for about $63,000 in August 2022.
That is so nass like, I thought today was Tuesday.
Haha, tool tips for FREEEEEE YEAHHHH!
A dowel maker?. I’m guessing before the reveal
Hahaha, great guess 👊
I think Clint is entirely too comfortable sanding his wood up and down on camera... please tell me that isn’t your day job 😂
Lmao, I just give the people what they ask for brother 🤣
Dude ya gotta sweep up that $1500 worth of wood chips.
More volume on future videos
Thought you were rolling J's with the drill by the thumbnail...
Hahahaha 👊
@@ToolReviewZone 👊😄
$8,000 😆 🙏🇺🇲
Hahaha, on sale bro
there is no way that board cost $8,000 that is clearly a $13,000 board.
Lmao 🤣 👊
Well now, that is pretty spiffy....and the price, well....not quite as spiffy but considering how many different sizes...not too bad...but I can't really imagine using anything smaller than 1/4" to be truthful. If they had started with 1/4" and gone up to, say, 1".....I would be more inclined to get one. But I have seen homemade versions of these from years ago (yes, I am that old...stop laughing and stop with the "older than dirt" comments, please) and they worked fairly well. But now...let's hold off on the rest of this until tomorrow's clip...considering how I think you were holding that piece of steel while drilling on your drill press.....yeah, I want to wait and see about that first! Yeah.....let's just wait...........
It was definitely a nail brighter holding that Jim hahaha
I have seen them but never used them. Pretty cool like. I think I have also seen something similar many years ago but can't remember where. My old Brain 🧠 isn't what it used to be I guess.
Haha, it's happens to us all Rick 😆👊
LOL. The smaller the wood pieces the more valuable they are.
Lol
What is the name of the Tool? I didn't hear it.
It's a dowel making Jig. Have the video up for it now
@@ToolReviewZone Who makes the Product?
Sorry if I didn't ask for information correctly!
Thanks! Looking forward to hearing from you!
Thanks Again!
No worries. This is the tool amzn.to/2VCnUbN
@@ToolReviewZone Thanks for the information! and showing the video!
You can't put a square peg in a round hole. Everybody knows that. 🤣
Out of stock may not be available later
They must have sold out 🤔
Why your video so blurry
I don't know
👍🏻🍻🍺🍕
You successfully milked a 90 second tool review into 7+ minutes.
Thanks
I dowelet anyone will not find this cool
Was a stretch, but I'll except Dan The Man!!!!!! 🤣🤣👊👊😆
@@ToolReviewZone it took me 20 minutes to come up with something. My brain is fried from the heat. LOL
Sorry brother, I guess I'm full of en-dowlment
@@ToolReviewZone 🤣🤣🤣
May I make a nice suggestion that you not do your chew or snuff or whatever you call it while you filming a video
