AAAUUUUGGGHHHH, I wish I knew about this tool three weeks ago. I am restoring a 1920s garage door and the original door had five-inch long 5/8” dowels. I made my own but this would have saved me so much time. This is something I would definitely buy. Thanks, Clint!!

@@dhebert111 The garage door is on my garage. I had to get the 1-3/4” wood from a sawmill and then hand make the dowels. I am not finished yet.

We use several hickory ramrods for the blackpowder longrifles every year. And as you know, 48 inch hickory dowel rods cost like a $122K each! Kinda pricy for a poor guy like me. I actually searched for a plate like this on Amazon and their junky search wouldn't bring it up. I will probably invest in one of these soon.

Well now, that is pretty spiffy....and the price, well....not quite as spiffy but considering how many different sizes...not too bad...but I can't really imagine using anything smaller than 1/4" to be truthful. If they had started with 1/4" and gone up to, say, 1".....I would be more inclined to get one. But I have seen homemade versions of these from years ago (yes, I am that old...stop laughing and stop with the "older than dirt" comments, please) and they worked fairly well. But now...let's hold off on the rest of this until tomorrow's clip...considering how I think you were holding that piece of steel while drilling on your drill press.....yeah, I want to wait and see about that first! Yeah.....let's just wait...........
