    It is interesting to see that Vietnam is projected to become the next global manufacturing hub. I see that Vietnam has an advantage in labor force cost. I'm sure this factor is appealing to other countries who may be looking for cost efficient work. It was interesting to hear about how China may be experience a labor force gap because of low fertility rates. If China doesn't step up Vietnam could certainly take its place years down the road.

      Thanks for your inputs! Vietnam is already one of the best China Plus One alternative. Indeed, there is a lot of things to be improved but let's remember it's a fast-paced country as well.

    Dealing with Chinese suppliers in hard. I found that Vietnam factories are more flexible and supportive.

      Not easy on Vietnam side too. But it's true that as a small player : an SME or entrepreneur, I think it's easier to deal with small-scale factories that will be more likely be set up in Vietnam.

      @@elenagilbert4072 VIETNAM MANUFACTURING IS STILL CONTROL BY CHINA. IT COME FROM CHINA TO VIETNAM AND FROM VIETNAM TO THE U.S. VIETNAM MAKES MONEY FROM THE TRADE BASICALLY YOU ADDED A MIDDLE MAN IN THE PROCESS WHICH COST THE AMERICAN CONSUMERS MORE MONEY.

      @elenagilbert4072 ALL YOU DID WAS ADDED A MIDDLE MAN IN THE PROCESS. THE GOODS STILL COMES FROM CHINA. VIETNAM IS GETTING PAID WHILE THE U.S CONSUMERS PAYS MORE FOR THE SAME PRODUCT.
      CHINA SELLS TO VIETNAM WHICH SELLS TO THE U.S FOR PROFIT. ONLY DIFFERENCE IS EVERY PRODUCTS HAS VIETNAM NAME ON IT, BUT IT STILL ORIGINATED FROM CHINA.

    While a lot of capital has come into Vietnam as an alternate to China, it has not come into the core manufacturing sector. Moreover, what is important as the industrial sector grows is the upgradation of management competence as well. Managing plants is not just about managing people which local staff can do, but also understand, develop, customize, adapt and work to global efficiencies which will be imperative if you are manufacturing for the world. You must import/develop management talent as well. I find that a bit wanting now.

      Thank you for your inputs. "Understand, develop, customize, adapt" ! Rare but golden when we identify a factory or partner following them.

    Made in China? I know there is currently a work stoppage at the US ports, but I would try to look for other options before acquiring products from there or I would try to locate Class A devices.

      Hi Daniel. Sure, thanks for your analysis. The congestion is not only on US side : we did encounter congestion in ports as well in the Asia side (Vietnam /Singapore).

    Vietnam is geographically well-positioned, allowing for easy access to global markets. This proximity reduces transportation costs and lead times, making it an ideal choice for businesses that value speed and efficiency in their supply chains.

    Vietnam is definitely the best alternative to Made In China product !

    • @MoveToAsia
      @MoveToAsia  Місяць тому

      It is one of them. Vietnam is still far from Europe and the USA so other neighboring countries (Mexico - Eastern Europe) can also be suitable as freight cost can have high-impact on the total pricing.

    Do you also see cambodia becoming a good alternative of china sourcing?

    • @MoveToAsia
      @MoveToAsia  Місяць тому

      I also think Cambodia will slightly entering in the map. Nevertheless, Vietnam with it's 10x bigger economy (compared to Cambodia), things move faster and is more likely the one that can emerge as a China Plus One player.
