    that particular Crosstrek in the Alpine Green & Wilderness trim - that is, in my view, the best-looking car Subaru has ever made . simply superb!

    I guess you could call that a blizzard but really it's not.

    Omg I love driving in the snow, but I don’t get snow here in Ohio like we used to. So I’m eternally depressed until I get to drive in the snow again lol.

    I'm really hoping/praying they decide to add a heated steering wheel to the 2025 wilderness, since my current lease will be up next January and this is at the top of my list.. but I'd really hate to lose the heated steering wheel I have now, I love it

    Is that a demo? How do they let you use a new vehicle with less than 100 miles on it?

    Love the wilderness crosstrek, but umm the winter blizzard? You need to look that up to get better facts…if that was a blizzard as defined, it would be a lot worse. That’s just a mild snowstorm in Ohio or any state for that matter

    Subaru's have 3 diffs which means end results is power will find one wheel to drive, no diffs can be locked and system uses electronics which defeats the object to keep all the wheels turning to keep the car moving, it's a shame that people don't understand that you have no locks it's almost useless.

    You the man! Like the videos you make on the Subaru. Glad you did one on the crosstreck. I most likely stay with the outback wilderness. Had more horse power and have little more ground clearance. If you can make more on the outback maybe doing some little off road. Don’t really see much on the outback doing that. Great video keep it coming 👍🏻👍🏻💪🏼💪🏼

      Yeah, lol. Thankfully the worst of it missed this area. And conditions were of course worse the day after filming most of these videos. But it was a good time for me and to show how it does in a bit of snow and ice, even though it was only a “blizzard warning” level of conditions. Thanks for watching! 🙂

    Greetings fro Mi and thanks for the video. Our 24 Crosstrek premium came to us in late Sept because of our 12 Camaro was total loss after a t bone accident and air bag deployment. Our Yokohama’s were terrible in the snow so Michelin cross climates were installed about three weeks ago. My wife wanted a sport but the wait was much longer. I love the Crosstrek, she misses her Camaro.

      Oh nice! Just curious if it was something like that or like an old school hatch or CRZ or something that might not often be taken out. I’ve had some friends in the past who have built older NA motor Hondas. But I don’t know a lot about them as it’s not my cup of tea platform. I do however really like the old “W body” 3800 Series 2 FWD platform that all of those late 90’s/early 2000s Impalas, Grand Prix, Regals, etc had. I hope to find a nice Supercharged one (like I had in high-school) to review soon!

  • @larkpur

    Flat land with snow doesn't seem like much of a challenge. Try driving with culverts on either side of road in the foothills of the Smokey Mountains. Ice and 9 inches of snow-covered back roads. My Forrester with Michelin Crossclimate tires had no problems!

      @AutomotiveAnonymous208  6 місяців тому

      You’re absolutely right! I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when I went out this day with the “blizzard warning” lol. But I also have to be cautious if I’m borrowing a dealer vehicle like this. 🤷‍♂️😅
      I definitely appreciate your insight and your willingness to share that experience with the CC tires, I’ve heard great things about them! 🙂

    Just a quick note: On your Outback Wilderness with the turbo engine, X Mode turns off at 25mph. On all the other vehicles with the standard engines, X Mode turns off at 18mph.

    These are horrible when you're actually stuck. The CVT overheats and the traction control system freaks out and basically you'll need to get help.

    • @AutomotiveAnonymous208

      I will say the most stuck I’ve ever been was in my OBW in a video I posted maybe just before this one. It took stage 2 X-models to get out. No over heating but oil temp did get up to like 219.

    Great video. Always nice to see how capable a Subaru is in snow. Curious to see your video on the Tucson Hybrid with the HTRAC AWD to see how it compares to Subaru’s symmetrical AWD

    • @AutomotiveAnonymous208
      @AutomotiveAnonymous208  8 місяців тому +1

      Thanks! The Tucson was actually pretty cool. And you can lock its AWD system. So doing my clip where I drive over the camera the drive shaft rotates just like a Subaru, for what’s that’s worth. I filmed it before these snow videos, and I didn’t revisit it during the snow. It was used and so the tires being fairly worn would not have been consistent or as helpful to know how it does compared to these different new tires on the Subaru. But I did think about it!
