Facts and back in Miami
This Rolling Loud is just a reflection on what rap culture has unfortunately become. Rolling Loud wants to appeal to a general audience because the general audience has become so obsessed with celebrity and validation. Its nihilistic for those who know what that means. The pre Covid days of Rolling Loud weren’t perfect, but I felt like the audience was more in it for the music and experience. Now it feels like the majority of people who go just want to get as close to the stage as possible and record the songs that they heard sped up versions of on tik tok. They are there to give some sense of validation to their lives whether they know it or not, they aren’t their for the experience

That’s why they gotta bring RL NY back 😂 best crowds but Matt and Tariq know they gain the most revenue from Miami and Cali so they gon always rely on those two
The thing about NY is the venue. Citi Field has been pushing back their parking lot redesign for the past year and a half, which makes it harder for Rolling Loud to coordinate with the venue. Gov Ball knew this which is why they moved to Corona Park. I don’t think RL is interested in following them. The only two options are Randall Park Island (Gov Ball left this venue because it’s a logistical nightmare) and Liberty state park whic of course is in New Jersey.
Or they can go the summer jam route and do met life stadium ????
@@EpicGamingLiveEGL nah word it sucks but hopefully there’s some changes in 2025. On top of that NYPD wasn’t allowing some artists to perform due to “gang related” issues. Matt and Tariq know they see everyone asking for NY to be back so I hope they come through in the future

1:30 I was there and this is exactly what Chief Keef's and Ski Mask's crowds were like, there were some hard songs played that no one reacted at all to. Pretty annoying. That said, the camera only seemed to focus on the VIP pit, and never during the right times, which is probably part of why it looked so dead

I think it’s cause of the type artists they had this year. Rolling loud tried to change it up this year with Mexican artists, plus the Barbs, that just attracted a different type of crowd . Last year had Carti, and Travis which has the ragers pull up .

You hit so many points that I was thinking the whole time watching rolling loud. Rolling loud has progressively gotten worse. They still are muting the crowd which Idk why. Like you said with the camera angles. I noticed this during Miami last year they keep the camera on the artist for the longest time. and barely show the pits during the best times like when the beat drops. It's obvious they are hiring people that don't listen to the artists. Don was the best but even him at some points was like wtf crowd is weak. Future is not the best performer but it actually made me low-key sad the amount of zombies I seen during his biggest songs. All I could think of was New York would never.

I've been going to concerts/festivals since I was 12. I'm a little older than the target audience but I really love music and like to tap in to all kinds. I watched some of the sets and was actually shocked by how dull the crowds were. I was wondering if I was just getting out of touch and if this was just how the younger people do concert in CA. I also assumed maybe people were really ston3d. Artists feed off the audience energy and it was just dead. Glad it wasn't just me who noticed.

the vibes will never be like RL nyc 2019 again in my opinion. i would say covid along with astroworld 2021 made a lot of people hesitant on the way they carry themselves at shows and festivals. even RL 2021 & 2022 were pretty mediocre and underwhelming to the first one
new york 2021 and Miami 2022 were legendary RL

Brought that energy EVERY TIME. I retired from RL after CA2021, I would only ever go again if they came back to the bay. It was pure and lit energy all day, every day.

i remember all the videos coming through last year on my youtube from like uzi, carti, ken, yachty, travis etc. and i loved seeing all the performances and crazy hype fans, like i think it’s a top 3 carti performance last year with the crowd and everything but this year it’s just not a good lineup. It does worry me because a lot of big artists didn’t do it and i wonder if it’ll be something similar to XXL freshman where one year people don’t do it so then the following year people see it as corny to perform there
