That looks to be an awesome design if it is reacting to wind speed that well. Good job Boomer!! I am really excited to see then next few in this series. Can't wait to see you hook that thing up to a big axial flux unit!

The times you did not see it turning we had it locked down by wedging a 2 X 6 in it.
My wind gauge will not measure below 1/10 th of a mile per hour and it will start up at less than that.

looks nice cant wait to see it in action producing power. I see you have a sprocket at the bottom what rpm do you think the barrels were turning this intire video they were always turning I dont belive other when you was welding did I see it not moving bueatiful video.

Why don't you put up a shield, perpendicular to the wind-direction, that protects the 'left' part of the windmill from the wind? You can make the angle to the wind smaller, in order to guide the intercepted wind to the 'right' part.

you know i was going to ask how much dead weight you could add to the bottom and not effect it much, add a clutch to the axle on the trailer then add a wheel in front and just drive the drive the thing to where it needs to go lol

hi, could you tell me the amount of power it is generating, what kind of generator you have used. I am thinking of making one savonius turbine in my farm for generating electricity. how have you increased the rpm?........well by the way your savonius is great......

Despite the stupidity of this comment... I'll post it anyway. I really like the green paint. If I gotta look at something as stand-outish as a Savonius made from barrels -- everyday -- that'd be the color. For sure.

The Mexican Patent in the IMPI MX/a/2023/006829 Wind and/or Hydraulic Turbine with Vertical Axis, Foldable, Multi Configurable and Synchronized Mixed Blades, is more efficient and easier to transport
