Bream is one of our favorites. I have always found it to be similar to bass in flavour.
Gone are my Days diving off the South Coast picking crabs/lobsters off the wrecks dodging the big conger lol
I used to phone Dad as I come over the Dartford crossing into Essex saying
Put the big pans on we have crab for tea. Dads gone so are those days. @@Trojwaterman
Of all the different species of fish that you two catch, which ones are used for bait in your traps and which kind do you prefer to keep and eat? Always enjoy your show!
We fillet most species for eating and just use the the left over heads and frames for pot bait. We do use wrasse species for pot bait as often it wont survive the pressure change after being caught. Occasionally some conger from the pots gets used when low on bait as it will bait a lot of pots and lasts a long time. However we always try to avoid catching fish just for using as pot bait.
Maybe that Lobster with the weird claw came from the Hurd deep ? lol

It came with the boat but I don't think its original as I had to customize it a bit to fit better. I glued and Rebecca sewed a new top to it last year.
If you venture up or down the coast , do the fisherman there get annoyed with people not from there area ? Nice catch 🎣
As long as your not causing a problem or interfering with their fishing its not a problem
