Thank you so much for demoing the kit with simple beats, keeping the pocket tight and letting us hear the Toms, bass and snare clear. It’s very rare to come across a demo for a kit this well done. I’m very surprised by the 20in kick, 10in rack and 14in floor tom. This would do well for local and or road gigs in shady dives where you know things get spilled shells get banged around and god knows what else can happen. I’ll keep my 1999 Masters kit for studio and or larger venues. 🥁🇺🇸
I have the Pearl Roadshow "rock" kit. I tuned it for a jazzy, fusion, funk sound. I love this kit.

@cameron1082 Tuning drums is honestly an art form in and out of itself. A drum kit can be tuned many different ways. I suggest to start with different tuning videos on UA-cam... unlike a guitar, for example, there is no right or wrong way to tune a drum to begin with, it all depends on what *you* want to achieve. The best tricks to get any tuning right tho are : 1) Finger tight the lugs. 2) If you change heads - or get the kit new - give them the "CPR" in the center (hands crossed and pressed like rescuing someone from a cardiac arrest). This makes sure the glue is cracked all around, you will hear it crack, don't worry. Really dig in there, it will help the head sits a lot better and the tuning will stay for a long time! 3) Go in criss-cross pattern all around, with half turns for every lugs. Put each toms on the drum stool, tuning one head at the time (you don't wanna hear the other one yet), thumb in the middle, hit in front of each tension rods and make them sound all the same lower than you want. Then get the tension in gradually.
4) If you want extra sustain, tune the bottom head higher and give half a turnkey up to the 2 o'clock rod. If you want less sustain, tune the bottom head lower and turn down the 2'oclock top lug half a turn. If you want even less sustain, put dampening (tape, gels). If you want even more sustain, change to thinner heads. If you want fatter sound, change to thicker heads.

Just picked one up. I threw on some remo pinstripe batters and evans g1 for the resonants. You cant tell the difference bewteen it and a high end kit.

If you tune, mic, record, and mix it right, you'll get that sound.
It doesn't but a good set of new heads helps tremendously.
Could you share your tuning are the batter, heads, tune, higher than the resident heads or vice versa because this is the best sounding pearl said I’ve ever heard

Floor tom ain't deep enough. I've heard better sound from cheaper brands.
Just curious how do I tune it to sound that good? Mine is very echoey and ringy
Buy better heads and possibly muffling material if it still rings. It's very echoey and ringy in this video as well. Keep in mind these are made out of poplar so they don't keep the sound inside the drum as much as higher quality woods.
Is this worth it if I dont have too much money? I think I will replace the cymbals... They're not very good

I think the heads are the stock single ply Pearls. It's the tuning that gives the sound on this video.

It's sought of classed as a novice kit but they can sound good anyway.I found the crash ride cymbal not so good .In no time became tiny and dented.Hi hats as crisp as you like .The original snare head was weak and replaced it with an evens .As deep, crisp ,robust and ad powerful as you like .I had to really tune and dampen the toms ok.Will change them with Evans.I gigged in pub shows with this kit and had no let downs .It's everything you want for a budget kit.The bass drum I could hear during the gig and as powerful as any bass drum.Had to replace the crash ride with a zildgan.Its not top of the range but it's ok for pubs ,clubs and functions.Its a nice looking kit as well .For the more experienced you may feel you might want up grade skins and cymbals.

This is my actual kit beside a Premier Apk. Love this kit but I change the hit hat for zildjian and cymbal as well. The heads don't really last but it is normal for this kind of starter kit. Pearl never disappointed.

Yes, I change the head with Evans g2 coated for the high middle and floor Tom. It is a different kit now. I keep for the moment the pearl head of my bass drum. Love this kit.

Yes lightly it works as a ride and as you hit it harder it is more of a crash

I have used it a couple times. It’s a pretty good set for performances it i hoped it was a little louder. Also after the first performance I had to get new symbols because they were not good

The Homies yes but it’s not 10” unless it the junior one
Don’t know.. But they’re garbage anyway. My old Pearl Target came with the same sort of cymbals and they bent after the second time i used them. They’re probably made of beer cans or similar, you’ll want to replace them as soon as you get the drums.

you need a double kick pedal , the pearl demonator p932 are amazing, fast and super fun to play with

Yo tengo una de 4 piezas por cuestión de espacio, y suena mejor que en éste video poniéndole parches Remo Ambassador y sabiéndola afinar. El video que mencionas ni siquiera la armó completa y no le echó ganas a la afinada con los parches de fábrica, y ni se diga la microfoneada para el demo. Si te interesa, checa videos donde ya esté bien puesta a punto, porque sí vale bastante la pena.
