The fact that he is doing that knowing that there is a baby living there is absolutely terrifying. He gives off very strong serial killer vibes. He needs to stay locked up.
The fact that his 'solution' was to spray chemicals into the apartment and make everyone sick, which would have made the baby cry even more, just proves how psychotic he really is
The "Chemicals" were drugs that can make people sleepy. He probably thought it would knock them out. Hydrocodone is simply Vicodin/Norco. Probably thought it would make the baby sleep.
@@CurieBohr Yep. That's probably what he was trying. Still there has to be something else in that mix as squirting those in like that would not do anything. He's a chemist so he probably mixed them with something else.
How the guy didn’t get charged with attempted murder is beyond me. If the dad didn’t install cameras to find out the source of the smell, it very well could’ve killed their newborn. Downright evil intentions he had.
@@seagoddess9937 It's crazy to me that you even have to say "if." I really really dislike children and especially babies, I hate their cries, and my upstairs neighbour happened to have one, but I would NEVER try to harm one, I never even complained directly to the neighbour. It takes a psychopath to do something like this. And have it ever occurred to him that a sick poisoned baby is probably gonna cry even more?
as a former USF grad student, the most surprising thing about this is that someone enrolled at that University was competent enough in their field to actually hurt somebody.
In most scenarios, "Setting up a hidden camera because you think your neighbour is injecting chemicals under your door to make you sick" is the kind of thing that would get YOU branded as the 'Crazy Neighbour', but in this case the guy was completely right, and probably saved his family!
My guess is he might have been thinking someone was bringing a pet or somthing by the door that was causing the smell. I bet after a while he noticed it strongest near the door. My thought would be, "maybe someones dog is pissing on my door".
the idea is .. that wasn't the first time something like that happened, Stories similar to this happen from time to time ... and probably this is not that dude's idea .. probably when he was asking ppl and friends around him for wut he should do about his condition one of his friends tell him to do that just in case if someone was after him .. because maybe he was living there for the longest time, why all of sudden that smile suddenly appear from no where and only in his house !!!??? .... it pretty reasonable to me if someone tell him to install a camera there or he start to have a doubt about the ppl around him ... or maybe that was the landowner idea since that is his building and that is also his property so he may asked him to do that just in case since we also don't know the full story of wut exactly happens ... we should have more awareness always to better understand a situations like these wut is the best to do and wut is the best analysis with giving everyone their own fair share of understandable reasoning
A crazy neighbor trying to kill the nearby residents is such a common occurrence, that its also common sense to have cameras setup where-ever. Its not paranoia as much as it is just extra security.
he didn't save anything, those two drugs aren't airborne and would do nothing if you pumped a few mg's under a door, you get methadone in pharmacies. Why don't people shopping in pharmacies die? because it wouldn't work.
Having lived with someone getting their PHD and the years following their defense and post doc, it’s astounding to me how this guy gave up years of incredibly hard work because he didn’t want to invest in noise cancelling headphones or, you know, fucking moving somewhere else. Both are minor inconveniences compared to losing your entire life’s work and murdering an entire family. Wild.

@@Di0nysus_ I think (emphasis on THINK) you can transport insulin so long as it’s transported in a refrigerated truck and isn’t left out in the sun for hours. I get that a child constantly crying and screaming is annoying after some time (my sibling was always loud and cried to try and get their way) but what this guy did is disgusting and he's clearly not okay in the head.
Imagine putting years of blood, sweat, and tears into getting your PhD and then throwing it all away by attempting to murder your upstairs neighbors because you couldn't handle the sound of a baby crying. Absolutely psychotic. Hope the family is doing alright and no one has any lasting health issues.
The fact that so many people in these stories are so willing to throw away a highly successful life over things as petty as annoying neighbors never fails to astonish me.

This story hits especially hard for me, because I have very serious sound-related issues. You name it, I have it: hyperacusis, misophonia, my ADHD and anxiety tie into it, and I don't mean for this to sound like a cop-out because I realize people DO fake this, but I have seriously considered getting evaluated professionally for ASD. Something like a lawnmower can make me genuinely despondent for the entire day, if I'm not careful with my reaction to it. I truly suffered from this for years, and now thankfully I live on a dead end with my loving girlfriend and I have my own very quiet space in that house that blocks out even most things like fireworks. Prior to figuring all this out and working VERY hard on myself though, I lived on a really terrible street with needles on the sidewalk, people screaming at each other, fully untrained giant dogs, motorcycles and trucks modified to be as loud as humanly possible, you name it. And my front door was, no exaggeration, about 18 feet from the road. The house was old, the floors were wood, I was fully subjected to all of it at all times. I slept in earplugs. I fully modified one room to be a "white noise chamber" but it ended up damaging my ears from being too loud. It got so bad that I eventually moved my entire life down into the basement, and where the upstairs floor wasn't completely bare, it was just for show. Before figuring out my system, I would be woken up constantly, all night, every night. In my most obsessive state, I once collected an entire day of data and figured out that, on average, a sound that could pierce through my earbuds that were actively playing music happened every 1-minute-26-seconds. It was brutal. And I never hurt anyone. I never confronted anyone. I only asked one guy to turn down his music one time, and that was in year 1 out of 5. The irony of the whole situation? I had this neighbor I was friends with for years, but I secretly was very upset with him because he was one of the motorcycle guys. Word obviously eventually got out, and you know what he did? He started coasting his motorcycle past my house, wouldn't start it until he was past me (in the grand scheme it didn't help much, but the gesture was so important to me). People really don't MEAN to be a problem most of the time, even in bad areas, and I truly believe that. So, what I'm saying here is that I hope this embarrassment of a PhD student rots forever, because if I can get through what I did without so much as being confrontational, he is trash for literally attempting murder.
If what you are experiencing is just moderate-high levels of sensory problems and attention span deficits/hyperactivity then I wouldn’t consider getting an ASD evaluation since it would most likely be a misdiagnosis if so, OCD, ADHD, ASD, and sometimes certain anxieties have sensitive sensory issues in different environments. Pure Autism traits and features that wouldn’t lead to a misdiagnosis would be; -Severe or close to severe repetitive behaviour, habits, activities. -‘Self-soothing’ via by what I stating above and/or stimming to a degree that is uncontrollable at times even out in public it’s impossible to mask out in a public scenario (typically lvl 2/3 ASD) -Very noticeable social deficits in social communication and often needs either patience or support helping with it due to miscommunication or misunderstanding on either end of the conversation. -For ASD levels 1+2, typically will have a NOTICEABLE lack of expression that can correspond to stale, monotone, stoic, or even robotic through common conversation. (I would add lack of eye contact aswell but it kinda links with adhd inattentive type) -Also irregular speech patterns, sometimes fast, sometimes slow, always seems to have an awkward tone of rhythm. Hopes this helps at all, there are so many diagnoses out there nowadays maybe symptoms overlap each other, they say 50-80% of people with ASD have ADHD like symptoms, and 20-50% of ADHD experience autism symptoms, i usually frond upon adhd+autism diagnosis because they are the same yet different, 70%+ of adhd and autism symptoms are linked, so I almost consider adhd as an autism-lite, biggest difference that separates them are the same symptoms that make the difference between black and white. Adhd craves novelty and new experiences; while ASD craves routine and consistency. Adhd can be hyperactive and impulsive; While ASD is usually more composed and emotionally dense. Adhd typically is more social and outgoing; while ASD is more to themselves, desires social isolation and lacks interest in relationships I can list a few more, but symptoms that don’t overlap with each other are as different as black and white, that why when Asperger’s was still diagnosable, ADHD, must be out the picture or cannot be diagnosed in the future. Even now, adhd will affect your chance of an ASD diagnosis due to similarities. Conclusion, sorry for the paragraphs, one of my hobbies is mental illness/developmental disorder diagnosis research and educating people on what they mean. Sorry again for not addressing the rest of what you have to say aswell lol. I have mild-moderate ASD and have ALOT of similarities with adhd and social anxiety, however, with ASD typically those symptoms are included, I do understand what you’re coming from because I’ve been there myself to a degree.
Just fyi might wanna check out embrace autism if you haven’t yet- it’s a really great site, with lots of tests and good measures for neurodivergent folks to consider.

I used to have a neighbor myself with 2 babies next door when I was a student so I know how annoying it is to have constant crying while trying to study or finish my assignments and parents seemingly not making any effort to calm the babies down I just put on my headphones and blasted music instead of poisoning them though
Please be aware that some babies are colic which is very common. It’s when babies cry for no obvious reason, and there's little to nothing a parent can do. It's absolute torture for the parents too. Also, a lot of noise problems are caused by cheaply made buildings with thin walls and floors. I once lived in a building like this and the downstairs neighbours always complained when we used the washing machine during the middle of the day and also that I walked too loud.
My downstairs neighbor bangs on his ceiling (or my floor) for several hours most days, but especially whenever my girlfriend or I accidentally make a loud noise (like dropping a water bottle or whatever). This kinda story makes me unsure if I should be grateful that he isn't trying to kill us, or if he just hasn't gotten the idea yet...

We eventually moved because the noise was too much, but it was interesting to see how people argue in different languages lol

I just have no words for this. This is like a cartoon villain thing to do, and someone actually did it. I hope the family recovers quickly, especially the poor baby.
They should be fine. Fortunately, they won’t have been exposed to enough to cause any real damage or even addiction. Those substances can cause breathing issues, though. But that’s temporary.
My partner and I live in a house in a pretty busy Suburb in Australia, the houses are built so close together that I can see into the neighbours kitchen from our laundry room quite literally. One particular neighbour loves to go outside into their back yard and talk loudly. On weekends we're totally okay with that, make as much noise as you like, we won't be HAPPY because we're trying to sleep, but it's the weekend so go for your life. On weeknights however, during the work week, it absolutely sucks to try and sleep while they're right outside our window talking loudly and laughing. On more than one occasion I've opened the window and shouted "Could you keep it down a bit, people are trying to sleep, some of us have work in the morning." To which they usually quiet down. And that's as far as it ever goes, and as bad as it ever gets. I can NOT fathom how someone could even contemplate making them sick or even killing them, like, holy fucking shit that's just bonkers.
But think though. If he's willing to do this to an innocent family with a newborn baby, what would he do to convicted criminals and others in jail who are assholes? But that's also to assume he gets the resources and opportunity to do anything.

Not in my experience. They always pretend they want help, but then they start shouting things like "Why are you picking me up?" when you try to help them get things off the top shelf.
Being comfortable with your size is a sign of maturity. So many guys try to compensate for shortness or narrow shoulders by getting buff, and they end up looking like oompa loompas on steroids.
This man is a danger to society and needs to be under INTENSE and consistent supervision. This is legitimately pyschopathic behavior and he needs to be caught before he enacts something more vicious on someone he has a slight against.
I am genuinely impressed with how he figured out what was happening, that the cause of his family getting sick was his neighbors "injecting poison'" into his apartment is just wild, out of all the possible outcomes it was this, and out of all the possible solution that the fraud chemist thought of, instead of padding his apartment, talking to his neighbors about the noise, perhaps even try different sleeping techniques, this was what he thought of, poison. hope the affected fellow and his family can rest easy and hopefully that baby isn't harmed growing up.
It sounds like they tried all sorts of things beforehand. They thought there was something leaking from their water pipes or gas etc and contacted the landlord. They mentioned the smell so it’s possible they noticed that the smell is worst near the front door. It’s possible they saw a small puddle of liquid there too. Personally, my guess would’ve been an insect or an animal but that would also require a camera to see what’s causing it. I wouldn’t say that was luck or paranoia. Seems pretty reasonable (especially with sudden, intense symptoms followed by a new smell)
I think they found the smell to be strongest at the door. So they understood that someone from outside was doing it. Placing the camera there caught the culprit.
because he wasnt trying to be lethal. this is why charlie fans lose all my confidence. he was injecting small dosages of opioids meant to make the baby fall asleep. if he wanted to kill them even the most brainless of chememists can find a mix of common kitchen cleaning chemicals under their sink, that could kill a family in minutes.@@pedrov.8087

What a hateful vile human being. I hope whenever he gets out of prison he's not allowed to go back to that complex. He needs to be mentally evaluated. I think that he would do this again given the chance.
I can’t imagine how concentrated those liquid synthetic opioids had to be for half a syringe full being injected into the air in their apartment to actually make them sick from breathing it. That’s crazy.
They are not sick. There's no way like 2 or 3 mL of opioids oxygenating into the air would cause any damage. But it's honestly their only play to get anything done about this psycho.
@Waggabagaboo they said there was a toxicology report tho. Idk, I think the whole thing is BS and has something to maybe do with potential upcoming legislation, if I had to guess.
Yeah, last time I checked, neither methadone nor hydrocodone are volatile chemicals, perhaps they absorbed through contact with skin, the more likely truth is the liquid was not what they claim it to be, it has to be somthing volatile as it had a chemical odor and presumably wasn't making much direct skin contact. I may very likely be wrong, but this is not adding up, I don't think the story is fake, but I strongly believe that a basic solution of methadone and hydrocodone would be enough, at the very least it has to have some volatile chemical that has a strong odor.
This guy is absolutely diabolical for making his upstairs neighbors sick by using chemicals. He should have been charged with three counts of attempted murder along with the charges of possession of a controlled substance and aggravated stalking.
Don't worry Charlie, being short is quite liberating. It makes me think outside the box; like thinking of using a stool to reach the cookie jar that I hide from myself.
as a chem student, can you explain how these opiates were turned into aerosol ? Cos I see a syringe full of liquid..... I genuinely would like to know how this would be harmful at all. I am also into chem, but please explain
@anonyninja7737 i can't say for sure because it also depends on what's in the solution too because the other (non active ) chemicals can be what stabilise it but also they can be dissolved in water so wouldn't be strange that they can disperse with the water molecules in the air
@willyslapper that too , the amount of money also spent , idk if he used pure chemicals but if so I just want to know how he afforded that or if he maybe stole it from the lab.
I thought about doing this to a bush near the road I live on that makes it hard to see oncoming traffic around the bend. I didn’t have the guts to do that.. this guy is insane
What he injected had no smell lol. Literally the only way this could have even hurt anyone in the apartment is if the baby or dog licked the spot on the floor he injected the chemicals... the ironic part is how charlies dumb fans parrot every opinion he has and do no research themselves. He was injecting opioids, which would calm the baby down, not make it cry more.
when I first heard this story without knowing which chemicals he was using, I had figured it was something that just acted as an irritant, causing maybe respiratory distress and headaches, which would still be fucked obviously, but I suppose he could justify it as "I just wanted them to move away", but seeing as how he was actually injecting fairly strong opioids into their apartment, I'm gonna say his plan all along was definitely to eventually kill them, or at least kill the baby. Also, if this went on long enough, he actually could've induced chemical dependence in them, including the baby. As someone who is chemically dependent on opioids and has been for years, doing that to anyone without them knowing it, let alone a *child* is absolutely pure evil, like that goes beyond just attempted murder, that has the potential to turn this kid's entire life into a living hell before it even has a chance to get started (also, keep in mind that prolonged exposure to opioids when you are young greatly increases your chances of developing a problem later in life, I know this because me using a lot of oxy at age 19 when I was in a really bad place due to the death of a friend basically came back almost a decade later as heroin addiction, like it basically primed my brain for a future addiction, and that was when I was a young adult, imagine this happening to a literal *baby*).
Well said. Opioids are not to be taken lightly, especially exposing an infant to them. Thank you for sharing your story. I feel for you, needing something to cope after losing such a close friend. I'm hoping that you're able to now manage it, as addiction is a living hell. Sending you love. ❤
No the drugs that he supposedly use make no sense at all. Injecting a liquid solution of opioids like hydrocodone (and not incredibly potent ones like fentanyl) makes 0 sense whatsoever if he's actually trying to hurt the family. The only way the family could be hurt is if they literally licked it up off of the ground unless he found a way to aerosolize them which wouldn't happen by just injecting liquid under the door. So maybe it was intended for the baby if he thought it would be crawling around licking the floor but there are so many chemicals that would be 1,000 times easier to get/make and would work infinitely better for his malicious purposes and he would certainly know this as a Phd chemist. This story makes 0 sense for anyone with a modest understanding of opioid pharmacology.
As someone who has lived in Hialeah for all their life as themselves just turned 29 this past December. I can say any time I MYSELF hear and “bad news” taking place in Miami-Dade or my general area, I am NOT surprised. I live about a 5 minutes walk from American High School, the CVS around the corner from said school no longer has an “electronics” section, went in to buy a replacement for my headphones, but the only ones they had were the “Gen 1 air pod knockoffs” near the front cashier in that neon green/blue “bargain box” on the counter. The reason they stopped selling electronics was because the kids from the high school keep ripping the stuff out of the box and slipping it into their jackets, leaving the chargers and “spare/extra bits” behind, they steal the small toys from they CVS and the Party City at the corner of the same shopping center too, like the Nee Dough balls and any thing they can rip out of the box (that they leave behind EMPTY) and slip in their pockets. All the shops in the area make them leave their backpacks at the door and only allow about 3-4 kids in at a time, even the Publix, so if some kid wants to buy some egg for their mom on the way home BUT 3 kids are already inside, they either have to wait until one of them leaves or comeback later. The CVS WAS making a glass lock case for the electronics section, the whole thing was almost finished, but just before they put the glass up, someone decided to move the whole thing to the Electronic Toothbrush section because they were of greater value than the 20$-30$ headphones, despite the fact the toothbrushes and replacement heads were NOT being stolen. One of the CVS managers quit after corporate kept reprimanding him for “allowing” “diaper hustlers” to steal bulk packs of diapers. I still see him shopping in the Publix sometimes.
I have two kids now, but when we lived in an apartment block, we had become good friends with neighbours who had their first newborn. When the baby would cry it was annoying, but I knew that the parents were trying desperately to calm down the baby. I often helped sometimes by holding the baby while the parents slept. Never did I think about going full Walter White and poisoning them. What an insane guy.
I sympathize with them not because I have kids of my own but because I used to work at a daycare. I've been in thst situation where you do everything you can to calm them and they still cry. I viewed them similar to my little cousins.

I had a neighbor who decided to cremate their dog in their backyard fire pit. I saw an alarming amount of smoke coming from their backyard that smelled awful so I took a peak over the fence to see what was happening and I saw their dead dog on fire.
Honestly, I think there could be something to be said about loud babies necessitating some sort of sound proofing for at least one room. As someone who can almost literally be crippled by loud noises, it doesn't really seem fair that I have to go out of my way to wear noise cancelling headphones in my own home for something that I didn't do. But what this dude took the Dexter approach to solving his problem.
That guy probably didn’t realize that HE HIMSELF was once a baby who most likely made a lot of noise all the time. He could’ve moved somewhere else or at least negotiated with the family, but he chose to do something so disgusting. Truly heartless.

That's textbook psychopathy Having said that, baby cries, especially when they last a long time, are designed by nature to be the most annoying thing your ears can hear. Yeah man cuz what that neighbour did was pretty bad human wise
Pure Autism traits and features that wouldn’t lead to a misdiagnosis would be;
-Severe or close to severe repetitive behaviour, habits, activities.
-‘Self-soothing’ via by what I stating above and/or stimming to a degree that is uncontrollable at times even out in public it’s impossible to mask out in a public scenario (typically lvl 2/3 ASD)
-Very noticeable social deficits in social communication and often needs either patience or support helping with it due to miscommunication or misunderstanding on either end of the conversation.
-For ASD levels 1+2, typically will have a NOTICEABLE lack of expression that can correspond to stale, monotone, stoic, or even robotic through common conversation. (I would add lack of eye contact aswell but it kinda links with adhd inattentive type)
-Also irregular speech patterns, sometimes fast, sometimes slow, always seems to have an awkward tone of rhythm.
Adhd typically is more social and outgoing; while ASD is more to themselves, desires social isolation and lacks interest in relationships
I can list a few more, but symptoms that don’t overlap with each other are as different as black and white, that why when Asperger’s was still diagnosable, ADHD, must be out the picture or cannot be diagnosed in the future.

Its proof that not all paranoia is bad. Dude must have made the link between the chemicals and his neighbours profession
This Korean was nuts
It sounds like they tried all sorts of things beforehand. They thought there was something leaking from their water pipes or gas etc and contacted the landlord.
They mentioned the smell so it’s possible they noticed that the smell is worst near the front door. It’s possible they saw a small puddle of liquid there too.
Personally, my guess would’ve been an insect or an animal but that would also require a camera to see what’s causing it. I wouldn’t say that was luck or paranoia. Seems pretty reasonable (especially with sudden, intense symptoms followed by a new smell)
He had another option......... move.
I think they found the smell to be strongest at the door. So they understood that someone from outside was doing it. Placing the camera there caught the culprit.
Smart enough to make them sick with a chemical, but stupid enough not to see the camera! Thank goodness for them!
It was hidden.
But it was still dumb to do it at their doorstep, and choosing a poison that would require multiple doses to be lethal
because he wasnt trying to be lethal. this is why charlie fans lose all my confidence. he was injecting small dosages of opioids meant to make the baby fall asleep. if he wanted to kill them even the most brainless of chememists can find a mix of common kitchen cleaning chemicals under their sink, that could kill a family in minutes.@@pedrov.8087

The most shocking part of this story was the landlord replacing an appliance when asked. And it wasnt even broken!
true, it must have smelled really bad for the landlord to admit there is a problem
This is frightening. If he really is a genius, he could’ve invested his time, energy and money into helping others. But instead he chose to harm an entire family including a baby just because he couldn’t bear the baby’s cries. How evil and psychotic. They need to lock him up and throw away the key.
What a hateful vile human being. I hope whenever he gets out of prison he's not allowed to go back to that complex. He needs to be mentally evaluated. I think that he would do this again given the chance.
Why tf did he only get those charges? This is 1000% attempted murder.
Maybe because it... you know... wasn't?
I can’t imagine how concentrated those liquid synthetic opioids had to be for half a syringe full being injected into the air in their apartment to actually make them sick from breathing it. That’s crazy.
Right? It seems pretty unbelievable.
@@dangerxbadger2300lmao ok sure buddy.

As a chem student , the sheer malice to even think of doing that is horrifying
as a chem student, can you explain how these opiates were turned into aerosol ? Cos I see a syringe full of liquid..... I genuinely would like to know how this would be harmful at all. I am also into chem, but please explain
@anonyninja7737 i can't say for sure because it also depends on what's in the solution too because the other (non active ) chemicals can be what stabilise it but also they can be dissolved in water so wouldn't be strange that they can disperse with the water molecules in the air
as a chem student the idea of killing someone after fighting for my life trying to get a PHD has me dumbfounded
@willyslapper that too , the amount of money also spent , idk if he used pure chemicals but if so I just want to know how he afforded that or if he maybe stole it from the lab.

the ironic part is that injecting a foul smell into their home probably INCREASED the amount that the baby was crying
What he injected had no smell lol. Literally the only way this could have even hurt anyone in the apartment is if the baby or dog licked the spot on the floor he injected the chemicals... Other than that, while super strange and diabolical his intentions were, this wouldn't have hurt the family at all
If he was injecting opiates it seems like he was trying to chill them all out so the baby wouldn’t cry.

the ironic part is how charlies dumb fans parrot every opinion he has and do no research themselves. He was injecting opioids, which would calm the baby down, not make it cry more.
@@evelynvslife what he was doing wouldn't even have an effect on anyone
when I first heard this story without knowing which chemicals he was using, I had figured it was something that just acted as an irritant, causing maybe respiratory distress and headaches, which would still be fucked obviously, but I suppose he could justify it as "I just wanted them to move away", but seeing as how he was actually injecting fairly strong opioids into their apartment, I'm gonna say his plan all along was definitely to eventually kill them, or at least kill the baby. Also, if this went on long enough, he actually could've induced chemical dependence in them, including the baby. As someone who is chemically dependent on opioids and has been for years, doing that to anyone without them knowing it, let alone a *child* is absolutely pure evil, like that goes beyond just attempted murder, that has the potential to turn this kid's entire life into a living hell before it even has a chance to get started (also, keep in mind that prolonged exposure to opioids when you are young greatly increases your chances of developing a problem later in life, I know this because me using a lot of oxy at age 19 when I was in a really bad place due to the death of a friend basically came back almost a decade later as heroin addiction, like it basically primed my brain for a future addiction, and that was when I was a young adult, imagine this happening to a literal *baby*).
or drug dogs
Crazy korean
@@hstater2 indeed. the only conceivable conclusion is that he tried to make the baby touch it. thatd be deadly

The backstory to why he started doing this sounds like a awful story a random mobile game would have
Episode be like: Your neighbors just had a baby! Do you, 1: Hug and kiss everyone! 2: Demand a paternity test! 3: Murder.

I'm not the biggest fan of kids but I study neurobiology and I'm very interested in drugs and administering an unknowing person opioids is one of the most evil things I can imagine
