The epic scene in Moria: `What's that? ' cried Gandalf. He was relieved when Pippin confessed what he had done; but he was angry, and Pippin could see his eye glinting. 'Fool of a Took! ' he growled. 'This is a serious journey, not a hobbit walking-party. Throw yourself in next time, and then you will be no further nuisance. Now be quiet! ' Nothing more was heard for several minutes; but then there came out of the depths faint knocks: tom-tap, tap-tom.
You know, I notice season one was such a feel good story at the end of the day. They prevented the destruction of an entire town, put the evil of an undead temple to rest, put Simon's father to rest, proved Simon's innocence, returned to Argoston safely, and Edbert was finally able to get some sleep. And now, elves. On fire. Just, all of them.
That went to eleven with that truly epic fail 😱 There's always a little bit of the "why do those silly elves have that isolationist policy"... Well, now we know. On another note the soundtrack is really getting epic as well! Thanks to Cooper!
Last week you painted a beautiful picture of the Elven Home, it was epic. This week you’ve burnt it to the ground!!!! Bloody brilliant story telling. Loved it.
I knew that was going to go poorly as soon as he started trying to destroy the pillars. Perhaps the elves should have given more details when they sent him...
HOLY CRAP. You are a master storyteller. I felt the wonder and mystery when Arne first found the elves and approached the altar. And I DEFINITELY felt the absolute epicness of the fail. Thanks for entertaining us all!
Oh boy, rolling a double 10 while messing with something that ought not to be messed with...well it looks like we've well and truly arrived at the DISASTER episode of the season! Great fun.
Balathu: "I'm Balathu King of the Elven lands and Leader of its people". Ash, I mean Arne: "Well hello Mr. Fancy pants. I got news for you pal. You ain't leading but two things, Jack and shit, and Jack left town."
I haven't even watched the video, but I'm smiling. I censor myself a lot in life, but just watching you do what you do w Me Myself & Die makes me feel like a nerdy little kid again. Thanks Trevor!
OMG!!! The cliffhanger of all cliffhangers...how is Arn going to get out of this mess (which is far worse than anything Simon ever created). Such a brilliant episode Trevor!
Arn, the typical human, sowing seeds of catastrophe with the excuse of good intentions. It takes decades of elf patience and foresight to know, never try and mess with sacred pillars! Haha great cliffhanger
Wow, what a climax. Somehow just Liking the video doesn’t really cut it for such a climax. This story gets more awesome each episode. I guess rolling a 00 demands consequences but in this case he had timing and luck worthy of Simon. As always I cannot wait to see how this continues.
Somehow I cannot see even simple Simon being this careless! If I remember correctly it was Season 1 Episode 4 where Simon managed to break his leg looking at the sky, nearly starved to death and needed rescuing from the inhabitants of an evil temple - all in one episode! This I think was when we all doubted Simon's ability as an adventurer. But Arne mate, what ARE you doing?! And to think I was championing Arne as the Saviour of the Ironlands. Disaster!
Oh ... My ... God ... That was an amazing episode. The others are great and awesome but this one? Beyond compare! This will be a hard week to wait until next Monday.
*[SPOILERS BELOW]* If any elf survive, he/she/they could dub Arn _“elfdoomer”_ , _“havensbane”_ or any other by-name of the like as an offense for dramatic effect. ;)
27:15 *SPOILER ALERT* Balathu: "Arn seems a capable man. Let's hope he doesn't touch that stone where our enemies were trying to push so they can invade our homeland. I mean, why would he do that? He just want to forge his spear, right? It's not like humans are curious and likes to mess things around. Nah, we're pretty much okay trusting this guy ... ... ... "OH NOOOOOOOO!"
Your dice really know how to heat the story up Trevor! That was a really intense climax to the episode, brilliantly told. Can't wait to find out how Arn is going to explain this away... Bravo!
Arn looks like he has had a bit of the ole' Simon bad luck rub off on him. Man this was sooo good! I can't wait to see where this goes next. Best program on the UA-cams by far! Thanks again Trevor!
As I see more and more chapters, I keep learning how to... enjoy this system/game. When I read the book, the author kept telling "envision", and things like "what you want"; and this chapter was a dramatic and enlightening example of that. Ironsworn is not about following rules. It is about discovering a story and having fun while doing that. This series truly feel like a mix of a Netflix series and a master class. Awesome work, man 😃👏
Just got to the end of this episode...I think I have to pause for a moment... It's astounding how intense a tale can become with the right ambient sounds, background music and someone who knows how to handle their vocal cords properly 😲
Arne, no! You had one job 😂 Holy smokes. Crazy, brutal moments like this episode are reasons why I enjoy this show so much. The moments of triumph and victory are always awesome, but watching your characters face real consequences (and that you never shy away from throwing your characters into peril)...it makes those victories feel properly well-earned. That Arne only wanted to improve his favor with the elves makes this all the more compelling. The plot thickens, and Arne's quest truly feels so imperative now. What an EPISODE.
So much classic style Dungeons and Dragons fun and excitement, I had to run over to Patreon and become a patron of your fabulous show. Thank you for sharing your amazing imagination and incredible talent.
History tends to repeat itself. Arn should shout "Glatou, verata, nectou" instead of those Elvish words :p Great episode! I imagine Arn is seeing all the bad luck he had lived with Simon before while watching all the flames around.
Making my second pass watching thru the seasons and still just as good even knowing what's about to happen. So many of your episodes are OUTSTANDING, but this certain one of the top favorites for sure.
This was an awesome episode, the story gets better and better. Great plot twist, I hope Arn find some companions soon. Ironsworn mechanics are funny and hard to understand, with a double 1 and strong hit just mark progress, with a double 10 and fail lets obliterated an entire civilization. I wonder how Arn is gonna recover from this.

Been a while for me but was good to see you bouncing around the random tables pretty freely. I go with my gut more often, but I think that also leads to more similar outcomes. Next time Menna the Dancer goes a questing, those oracles might get pulled out a bit more often. Especially the plot twist oracle, that was a nice touch.
OMG! so amazing! I can't stop laughing with that turn of events, I really love your channel. My dear friend Arne... you had it done! what did you do? hahaha my best wishes for you and your channel in this new year (from Argentina)
Arn: "Oops, I tripped."
Elves * cease to exist *
The epic scene in Moria: `What's that? ' cried Gandalf. He was relieved when Pippin confessed what he had done; but he was angry, and Pippin could see his eye glinting. 'Fool of a Took! ' he growled. Isn't that basically what happen with any indigenous race? White man arrives *sneezes* everyone dies... 😂
I think my favourite bit about this was the Oracle literally rolling 'Eliminate World' last session. She knew.
Well...That escalated quickly.
Someone's getting killed with a trident.
It jumped up a notch.
Oh nooo😂😭
Talk about a cliffhanger!!!! Thank God I am binging this and can immediately jump to the next episode! "Arn, the last human to ever see an elf..."
Say what you want about "Simon Sucks", but his craptastic rolls never led to genocide.
Arn Accidently Arsons
#ArnAccidentallyArsons
Arn joyfully skipping through the woods. Colorfull birds chirping in the tries. "Lets help the Elves" says Arn.
5 minutes later.......
NOOOOOOOOO ARN WHAT HAVE YOU DONE 😭
This ep was so intense at the end omg
Hmmm...remind me again why elves don't tell humans where they live? :D
Loved it.
Spoiler: Arn has become yet another example of why elves don't/shouldn't/can't trust humans.
Arne is going to need to go to therapy after all this trauma 😳
Last episode hi elfs. This episode bye elfs 😂 Loved it 😂
I knew that was going to go poorly as soon as he started trying to destroy the pillars. Perhaps the elves should have given more details when they sent him...
Even early on I know this will be the highlight of my day
Same for me mate. Its gona be late here, but might gona hace chance to watch the episode. Can not wait to learn more about the elfs.
Great fun.
It engaged the Desolation of Thalgalos episode
Well, it does say in the Ironsworn rulebook, "Don't be afraid to let things fall apart....". Great episode!
Champions are forged from darkness and fire. This low point only makes Arne a better and more interesting hero in my eyes.
I don't know many heros who end up getting a whole race killed XD
@@deadbeatdacatgaming3942 Every classic hero story involves intense tragedy first.
@@AaronQ64 not all of them cause tragedy, normally
Balathu: "I'm Balathu King of the Elven lands and Leader of its people". Ash, I mean Arne: "Well hello Mr. Fancy pants. I got news for you pal. You ain't leading but two things, Jack and shit, and Jack left town."
Welcome to 2020 Arne! It's so obvious now, we rolled a critical failure in January with no momentum to burn!
Yep, Simon of Argoston was not the biggest dope.
Um... episodes like this are why I love Ironsworn. I'll leave it at that.
Oh my goodness that cliffhanger was brutal! Things definitely escalated quickly, one of my favorite episodes so far!
God damnit Arn…all that story building last episode about describing the wonderful home of the elfs’…
I haven't even watched the video, but I'm smiling. I censor myself a lot in life, but just watching you do what you do w Me Myself & Die makes me feel like a nerdy little kid again. Thanks Trevor!
When you said that he has to remember the Elven words I directly had to think of Army of Darkness!
Great reference! ;D
OMG!!! The cliffhanger of all cliffhangers...how is Arn going to get out of this mess (which is far worse than anything Simon ever created). Such a brilliant episode Trevor!
The little murder-hobo in the back of my mind is wondering: does that mean Arn gets to keep the hammer?
Arn: *::does naughty things::*
Balathu: _"You had ONE job, ironlander!"_
Me: *::flashbacks of Nargothrond intensify::* o_O
Better yet.
Arn: *::shock in his eyes::* _“Now, I have become death, destroyer of worlds.”_
Arn, the typical human, sowing seeds of catastrophe with the excuse of good intentions. It takes decades of elf patience and foresight to know, never try and mess with sacred pillars! Haha great cliffhanger
Best episode of all! That end is magnificent. I just can not wait for next week’s episode
I think my mouth gapped open at 30:38 and I haven't been able to close it since! WHAT AN AMAZING EPISODE! What an amazing description, what a story!
Arne did a real big woopsie. That is how you tell a story man great work.
Wow, that took a turn! Arne was done, and safe, but he just had to go back and push his luck, lol. Sounds familiar somehow...
What an episode! How can Arn live with himself after this?!
One would imagine he would have a need to try and make things right somehow... ;)
Simon may suck… but at least he never doomed an entire elven city!!
Best plot twist! Love that this plays directly into one of the classic differences between the long-lived elves and humans.
Amazing episode!
MM&D is the perfect way to finish Mondays!
Damn, Arn really screw that up. You had ONE JOB!
Wow, what a climax. Somehow just Liking the video doesn’t really cut it for such a climax. This story gets more awesome each episode. I guess rolling a 00 demands consequences but in this case he had timing and luck worthy of Simon. As always I cannot wait to see how this continues.
Arne is starting to suck as much as an old friend of ours ;) (he could’ve really used simon’s help back there)
He really #Simon-ed it.
Somehow I cannot see even simple Simon being this careless! Havensbane was absolutely perfect, dude. Thank you for your contribution😭❤️
I'm loving this show so much it brought me to tune in to my first UA-cam premier. I'll be back same time next week.
Well, now we know where the dragon is. Good job Arn, this quest goes flawlessly.
You just HAD to push that rock didn't you Arne.☺️
You know something bad is about to happen when a series of rolls go well.
That cliffhanger hited like a TRUCK! The words of Balathur gonna stay as 2020 highlight for me.
27:15
*SPOILER ALERT*

Simon may suck, but at least he didn’t fuck up as badly as Arne did lol what a twist!

The suffering of Simmon can't be compared to what happenned to Arn!

Oh... my God. When I saw the double 10s I knew something bad was coming but didn't expect for the Dragon of legends to appear! Holy mother of...!
I do love those moments when Trevors looks up the results on the oracle table and grins "oh, okay, I have an idea!"

I said the words! Just as you taught me, nothing more! I swear (not on iron though...) So um... who want's this enchanted elven smithing hammer?

Oh boy.., I didn't see that coming!
I love that at the Army of Darkness reference there was a impromptu and fairly spot on Bruce Campbell impression along with the reinactment.

I am not sure how you out did yourself from the last episode but damn man SOO good.
Wow - that was intense! People who say solo gamers pull their punches need to watch this.
So epic. I had chills. Damn good storytelling there. Wow!

Great episode! No spoilers, but that last roll was fantastic and the way it worked out with the story was exquisite!
