Really shows off just how technical they can get when Mike pushed it. Also a nice display of Hefe's skills, he doesn't get nearly enough credit for how much he advanced their musical skills and palette

Not to be "that guy", but... the part you were referring to as the chorus where Mike is playing really high on the neck type bass fills, I'm pretty sure Melvin is singing. Wolves in Wolves Clothing was the last NOFX album I really paid any attention to. But this song is wildly fun and I think I'm gonna have to give it a listen.
Hi, I know NOFX pretty well, but for any reason not THAT song. But with this video I found out what a masterpeice it is. Very creative and differrent pieces wrapped together in a wonderfull melody package. .... When you hear the Bass Riff at the beginning of the verses - the guitarist Eric Melvin sings :-)
I’m a lifelong huge Nofx fan and can honestly say I enjoy the later albums more. Sure, the early stuff reminds me of being a kid but they really are a rare band that kept their chops up. Wolves in Wolves Clothing is my personal favorite
Wolves in Wolves' Clothing is Mike's favorite album of theirs according to him. I think Wolves has some absolute shredders. Some of Mike's best; USA Holes, Indifferent Drum, Cantado en Espanol. Many more to boot. Self-Entitled has excellent bass through and through. Not everyone's favorite but you can't deny the riffs.
Love all the punk reviews! If you wanna check some more abstract punk jazz-ish fusion look up Whippersnapper and anything from their "The long walk" album. Listen to the album "So Long And Thanks For All The Shoes".
Dude YOUR bass tone sounds SOOOOO f***ing good!!! It actually makes me consider buying a bass!! I’m a guitarist and piano guy for 20+ years. I have a shitty bass with super high action but you make me wanna go out and get legit quality gear
Coaster has so much great bass playing on it. It’s a really interesting album. I love this album.
Not to be "that guy", but... the part you were referring to as the chorus where Mike is playing really high on the neck type bass fills, I'm pretty sure Melvin is singing. At least, to my ear, it sounds like him. But I could be wrong because I've honestly never heard this record at all before.
Unrelated to this video but recommend some Mighty Mighty Bosstones cuts, like Don’t Know How to Party as an example. Some fantastic bass driven tunes.
fat mikes lyrics are always on point and this song rules. song also has one of the tightest dual tracked maiden-esque guitar solos ive ever heard.
NOFX “Single Album” is one of their newer albums that doesn’t get much praise, but is one of my favorites.
The first track has a cool bass intro and all of the songs are very bass forward with a lot of bass crisscrossing with the guitars. Awesome stuff!
If you love Coaster, check out Pump up the Valium...also, do Bad Astronaut. KEEP GOING!!!
