A translation I wrote for the song, Filipino to English. I am aware than an official translation exist, but this is more of an exercise for me to translate this based on how I felt each lyrics meant. Some passage might be different from the official, but eh, kinda wasteful not to share. -- The Carinosa Isn't you just said that it is I that you shall only love? Why is it that I felt the opposite? Still, my heart went and, Believed our vows. Oh God, how can this be possible? Is it my fault that you now're so distant? As my sanity implores, I wish not for a disappointment! I wish to learn which is true and which is not, It is my wish for you to not with someone else, I wish to ask even though I know the answers, To stop the doubt and the trust that it is I whom you endears the most! The coming outburst was stopped, By this violet in this trembling face of mine, From you when I once made a mistake, I wish to be the one whom you endears the most! Underneath the blooming light of the night, I saw everything. All the reasons of your frequent absence. Oh well, my dear I give you my forgiveness. You don't have to explain anything, it is you whom I endears the most! I wish to learn is it me, or is it them? Though, it is my wish for you to not be with someone else, I wish to know which coquette was it, To stop the doubt and the trust that I cherished, that is now dead. A kubo house, as small as it is, Those who gathered inside can't fit. A body, a head, a mother's arm, No other place to put all of brother's. See this insolent witch for yourself, She is not fit for yourself, While it is me who's mourning day and night, I won't let even the heavens judge with its might. Isn't it, your vow, That the two of us, Will be together, until death do us part! I want to know, is this love? Is this not? If not for me, then no one shall have you! The blood that gave me life, the one who gave me love, Now in the ceiling, the walls, and the floor. Your heart you promised me, Now mine as I deserved. Now in my hands, shall beat forevermore!
Its about a wife killing her husband when she finds out he is cheating, its pretty amazing that steampianist can turn something beautiful to something dark
Given how fancy Miku and the woman’s dresses are, I think we can safely upgrade them from Baro’t saya to the Maria Clara gown, which is basically the rich bougie version of the former
The story cuts you like an unexpected dagger. It makes me want to make an OC based on this song. Also for anyone that is wondering the beat/melody for this song originates from the lovers walts aka The Carinosa danced by colonized filipino nobles to meet / gain the interest of their desired lover. It's basically a waltz where singles/ couples dance to in the Spanish colonial period of the Philippines.
Here's the song in a nutshell, basically the girl is with a cheating husband. Before the second chorus, she didn't ask for an explanation, she forgave and still loved him. But once the chorus progressed, that's when the doubt settled in and her trust for him died. At 3:06, I think she hid his family's body parts in a small nipa (leaves) hut. From then on, it basically is just her lashing out her anger and killing the husband, painting the walls, floors, and ceiling with his blood.
i thought at 3:06 was explaining how her husband (kuya) was missing from his family cuz hes somewhere else and the body parts are just where the mother's (ina) children were present at like the thighs (bisig) the head or mind (ulo) and the body (katawan). Your explanation sounds more clear tho
Gumi is more ideal for non-Japanese songs that's probably why Steampianist used her for Ang Cariñosa. I also saw another youtuber who mostly uses Gumi for Tagalog songs. Although it also hugely depends on how well one knows how to use the software and the syllables available for the Vocaloid they use.
@@angela.luntian some sounds, yes, but there are sounds that might not be or are not available in japanese like Ti, Di, L, Ng, Qu/Kw, Si, Tu, V, We, Wi, Wu. Fu and Hu could be interchanged depending on how the voice provider pronounced them during recording, same wi Rs and Ls, and G (sometimes sounds like ng). But the sounds I mentioned can still be produced by combining stuff and being good at tuning/editing.. So yeah, whether a producer wants to use the Jp or En voicebank, how well it matches Filipino sound depends on their skill. Edit: also note that Japanese syllabary has their consonant always paired with a vowel (except the ending N). So words with syllables ending in consonants like akiNG, salungaT, siPhayo, alaM probably has U sounds that have to be cut off or edited out if Jp voicebank was used. So the producer will hhave to choose if they wanna take extra time with those, or use the English voicebank and make do with thhe accent 😅
This deserves much more views istg, it's a really well made cover :D. Loved the parts where the voicebank would switch from V4x to a more softer one and vice versa, as well as the backing vocals during the last part

FILIPINOS, ASSEMBLE!! Haha, for some reason I think Hatsune Miku's a lot more understandable than the original- I'm not saying the original is bad, it's quite good actually. I just can't understand it even though I'm filipino-
It's not really yandere, if you look at the description of the original version of the song it showcases there more, the comments are also helpful for having more clear understanding of the song's lyrics
@@millennium7909 it’s kinda yandere, the woman in the song basically killed her husband and kept his body forever, and she sounded obsessive. Can’t blame her though, her husband literally cheated on her.
Yeah, but it’s a lot more clear and accurate than Miku’s. Coming from a Filipino. Sorry Miku, you’re my favorite but you’re just not fit for this song 🥲
Yeah but miku's accent here is actually better than the original, I can understand it better and the accent does sound more of her actually singing in Tagalog accent
thank you so much for using my UST! 💜 if you have time i'm actually releasing a remake cover of this song premiering later today and would be awesome if you come by and watch! 🥰 ua-cam.com/video/-IkaPEhvI18/v-deo.html

The Carinosa
Isn't you just said that it is I that you shall only love?
Why is it that I felt the opposite?
Still, my heart went and,
Believed our vows.
Oh God, how can this be possible?
Is it my fault that you now're so distant?
As my sanity implores,
I wish not for a disappointment!
I wish to learn which is true and which is not,
It is my wish for you to not with someone else,
I wish to ask even though I know the answers,
To stop the doubt and the trust that it is I whom you endears the most!
The coming outburst was stopped,
By this violet in this trembling face of mine,
From you when I once made a mistake,
I wish to be the one whom you endears the most!
Underneath the blooming light of the night, I saw everything.
All the reasons of your frequent absence.
Oh well, my dear I give you my forgiveness.

I wish to learn is it me, or is it them?

A body, a head, a mother's arm,
No other place to put all of brother's.

While it is me who's mourning day and night,

this translation is pretty good, im oretty native to tagalog kaya props sayo at sa salin na'to
This cover is so criminally underrated!! You tuned Miku so well! I love this so much!

I love how Hatsune Miku Wears Baro't Saya (Traditional Filipino Dress back between 18th & 19th Century) and Blends like she's a Filipina ❤️
Given how fancy Miku and the woman’s dresses are, I think we can safely upgrade them from Baro’t saya to the Maria Clara gown, which is basically the rich bougie version of the former
Huh a baro't saya, i thought it was a maria clara-
I watched the original and this cover seems more understandable
Love both versions regardless, this song is awesome

The melody remains as a Filipino Folk dance, danced during events or school festivities and exams of PE teachers xD.
As a filipino i gotta say, this is awesome! And why is this underrated?
ewan ko...
Because it's not Japanese.

this is well done. I love the layer in her voice the deep and the high pitch one
she's tuned so well!!
The tremolos in the chorus part is just hauntingly beautiful 😭

Here are the Tagalog lyrics if anyone's interested:D
Sabi mo ako'y ang tanging iibigin
Salungat ang aking nadama
Patuloy-tuloy pa rin ang aking puso
Naniwala sa ating sumpaan
[Pre-Chorus]
Bathala bakit nagkaganyan
Ako bang may sala
Parang ako'y pinagtampuhan
Panalangin ng aking katinuan
Nawa ay hinding siphayo ang aking mapala
[Chorus]
Dibale, O aking sinta ika'y pinatawad
'Di na kailangan magpaliwanag pa
Mahal pa din kita
[Chorus]
Nais ko sanang itanong kung sino ba ang totoo
Panalangin ko sana na walang iba
Nais ko sanang itanong sinong hitad ba ito
Tigil na ang duda
Tiwalang iningatang iyong pinatay
[Bridge]
Bahay kubo dahil maliit
Salamat!!
