On your first flight, 1 hour after opening the box you decided to fly it in the garage of all places, then crashed it, damaging it. Which then pretty much explains all of your problems. I don't get how people think it's a good idea to fly these things in such small spaces. Especially for a first flight.
First place I flew mine was inside the house. Attempted to go up the stairwell but didn't account for how the back draft from the drone would affect it. Made it out safely.
Andy Nixon and they do not turn off the sensors, so as soon as it detects something, tries to correct itself, you push the sticks this & that side, and....... boom!
Hotshot dude even you own phantom before, doesnt mean to considered yoursefl a pro Still for the first time Dont fly in such small area, whatever the size the quad it is or any brands
I was not expecting these 1 year old mavic pro videos to begin to become popular on UA-cam. I just created it because I had a crazy experience with the product and bad luck with defects. But glad to be the first ones to put the 12 months experience video out.
I had a horrible experience with dji as well up until a few days ago. Purchase mines about four months ago and right out of the box had an issue, a weak signal issue when I took it out a very short distance I sent the drone back they replaced the entire aircraft, I received it a month later it was still having the same issue. I asked to speak to someone higher up about this issue a supervisor called me and said he will be taking care of this problem. They replaced my controller and the supervisor called me back a few times to give me an update and even expedited my drone which is due to be delivered tomorrow fingers crossed everything works well. My 3dr solo drone which doesn’t have al the bells and whistles as the mavic is still going strong it’s like an old Chevy that you can beat down and will still start up it just gets the job done.
My Mavic has performed flawlessly since day 1!! Not a single problem other than pilot error a few times. If you don't crash them they work much better.
Mavic pro being my first drone ever, I had that craving to do an indoor flight test since I bought my mavic alpine white right after Christmas. It was too cold to do an outdoor flight test. Test result: As I was trying to master the controls, the mavic got too close to one of the walls and I took my thumbs off the stick to get it into the hover mode. After hovering at the same place, very close to the wall for a few seconds, next thing I noticed was that it started drifting on its on and hit the wall tail first. At this point gimbal was facing the sealing and the drone continued going down toward the floor and landed on its butt. Ofcourse I killed the motor before I could pick it up. Damage: One pair of props got hairline crack. Gladly nothing happened to any other part of the drone especially the gimbal. I am glad I did not have to knock at the DJI care's door. Lesson learned: I m never going to test indoor flying abilities of my drone ever again. General advice to all fellow drone owners: Give this beast the space it needs to fly safely and always know the drone orientation and be prapared to take manual control when emergency situation arises. Peace.
I purchased a Ehang Ghost 2.0 VR then after reading all the features the Mavic Pro had I decided to buy that one. So now I have two drones and I really thought I would prefer the Mavic but I do not. The Ghostdrone has 4k video also and after turning up the speed in the settings and using avatar mode it was definitely my favorite. It literally mimics the phone so you can do banking turns at high speed where on the Mavic I could not do that. Also I think the Ghostdrone is faster. So I recommend you do a video comparing these drones for yourself and see what your conclusion is.
Skip the DJI Care Refresh, add on to your homeowners or renters a Personal Electronics Blanket Endorsement. Was only $16 extra a year for me and covers a wide variety of scenarios such as water damage and crashes.
Hotshot, well darn :/. Time to get a new insurer. I had to ask specifically about drones when shopping around as none of the FAQs mentioned them. It is just a camera that flies after all 😉.
Thank you for your video, I want to buy a Mavic pro or a air, it is now 2018, so I'm always looking for both good and bad experiences, I will avoid buying older model or refurbish models.
Which one do I get? I can buy any of the two but can only pick one. Also someone is selling the mavic pro brand new for £650 and the mavic air costs £769 in shops. Which do I get?? I want to use it for my travels around the world. I want to get shots such as mountains etc when I visit Iceland etc and the waterfall in Bali
Hi, You stated that you could not up load any of the updates and I have been having the same problem. have been on DJI support for hours and never have they never suggested that its a hard ware issue. In fact I just gave up talking to them. what was the hardware problem and what do I ask to get fixed?
Tom Elliott Just saw this sorry for the late reply, it depends on the customer support rep you get I guess. But you can also file a claim to request to send out a drone for repair on the site. This way they can see whats wrong or try calling again and hopefully you get someone who can really help. If you can, could you update me on the results, I’m curious to know more on the cause if this issue
Believe it or not I received my mavic pro in December 2016 and then got really busy with other projects and it's still in its unopened box (yes almost 14 months and still not used).. I'm only just about ready to start using it.. Any tips you can share so much later after it's been received? (I don't have the customer care package but I heard that can still be purchased now so long as it hasn't been turned on/registered yet (which it hasn't).. Is that true? Thank you
Thats incredable that you havent opened it yet, its a time capsule now 😆. But you may still be able to add Dji care because the drone has a 45 hour activate period to add. And check out some UA-cam videos on before you fly for the Mavic pro. They will explained it all, but a personal advice fly above 200 feet because that's the safety place to practice and it's also the drone safe zone from hitting any structures.
The mavic air imo has a way better camera but a lower flight time. But If i was was to choose between the 2 I would get the Mavic air. That camera snd the design looks a lot better
You made me check on Mavic but my final Mavic I received ends with a V4 in the S/N. From my understanding they can sometimes send out a refurbished replacement.
One of them wasn't "defective" you flew it indoors and crashed it. Trying to order a replacement when you knew there was a backorder can't be their "terrible customer service" because you got the next replacement in two weeks
Not personally no, I know that’s an issue that some people are reporting but I already have four hours of flight time with these new blades I haven’t experience anything.
Looked like Magic Mountain Parkway Valencia in the background down the street from where I use to live. cool ......nice vid ! I miss the sh__ out of Cali . Just got a mavic have not tried it out yet waiting for new tablet.
YOU DIDNT NEED THE CARE REFRESH PLAN. THE GIMBAL OVERLOAD ERROR MEANS THE GIMBAL RIBBON CABLE IS DAMAGED WHICH IS JUST A $13 DOLLAR FIX IF YOU DO ITYOURSELF.
I couldn't disagree with you more on DJI Care Refresh. I paid the money for it & lost my Mavic in the sea. Couldn't recover it. DJI was a nightmare to deal with & they did not replace my Mavic. I bought a new Mavic & also bought the State Farm insurance policy on it for $30. a year. It covers everything but liability. I would NEVER buy DJI Care Refresh again. Also, remember that DJI is sending you refurbished units in Care Refresh & you don't know what those drones have been through before they were shipped to you. Somebody else's junk.
Air for better camera quality, mavic for its longer flights time. But if I had to pick one. The Air body looks more durable. But I’m waiting for the mavic 2 thats been leaked and looks good so far.
This is what makes the Mavic Pro a TERRIBLE buy. The gimbal is way too fragile. Don’t buy the Mavic Pro, because there is like a 75% chance your gimbal will malfunction and this kind of repair is just too much for the average consumer.
The comments here are hilarious see some kids flip 😂 because you crashed your drone in a garage where there been many other people who done worse. I personally had a few encounters with trees and building and my phantom and spark still fly perfectly well minus getting new blade but these drones are design to crash but seeing yours braking during a low altitude hight and I doubt it was going even a mile fast, clearly expands why DJI repaired it for free it was definitely a hardware failure thats caused this especially when they have data logs of each flights.
Mavic pro being my first drone ever, I had that craving to do an indoor flight test since I bought my mavic alpine white right after Christmas. It was too cold to do an outdoor flight test. Sort your head out
Glad u got it resolved. My experience is same. DJI have great products but customer service sucks beyond belief.

Yep that's me alright but I own DJI phantoms in the past and never had issues like that.
First place I flew mine was inside the house. Attempted to go up the stairwell but didn't account for how the back draft from the drone would affect it. Made it out safely.

N'th DEGREE AERIAL PERSPECTIVES same thing here.... Since first day no issues even with the updates, almost one year working flawlessly

Definitely but currently my insurance doesn’t cover that but if I did I’ll definitely would’ve got that. 👍🏻

Hie, between getting this drone and the Mavic Air, which one would you recommend?

Which one is best mavic air or pro

i guessed thats why they release a platinum version. lucky i dont have a bad drone.
When did they come out i just got mine this month
Everytime when you go through DJI care, does the replacement Mavic Pro have a S/N with a letter "R" at the end?
You made me check on Mavic but my final Mavic I received ends with a V4 in the S/N. From my understanding they can sometimes send out a refurbished replacement.
Looking to pick one of these up. Thanks for the video.
QC Drone NP
For a second I thought you had three mavics at 00:07 until I saw the vertical lines haha ;-) nice editing skills haha =)
One of them wasn't "defective" you flew it indoors and crashed it. Trying to order a replacement when you knew there was a backorder can't be their "terrible customer service" because you got the next replacement in two weeks
DJI themselves considered it as a defect once they opened it they said it was a hardware issue or else I would have had to pay for the repairs.
Did you have any vibrations from those new props?
Not personally no, I know that’s an issue that some people are reporting but I already have four hours of flight time with these new blades I haven’t experience anything.
I had problems get the original from dji not amazon
Looked like Magic Mountain Parkway Valencia in the background down the street from where I use to live. cool ......nice vid ! I miss the sh__ out of Cali . Just got a mavic have not tried it out yet waiting for new tablet.
It was and congrats on getting the Mavic 😃
That's one fancy leaf blower.
Indeed it is. lmao
YOU DIDNT NEED THE CARE REFRESH PLAN. THE GIMBAL OVERLOAD ERROR MEANS THE GIMBAL RIBBON CABLE IS DAMAGED WHICH IS JUST A $13 DOLLAR FIX IF YOU DO ITYOURSELF.
I’m glad I waited and got the Mavic Pro Platinum
Platinum was definitely worth the wait. 👍🏻😁
How about pro platinum?
All u need to do is re pace the ribbon cable in the gimal
I couldn't disagree with you more on DJI Care Refresh. I paid the money for it & lost my Mavic in the sea. Couldn't recover it.

Somebody else's junk.
Darn, that sucks bro. :(
but in the refresh it states if you got the drone broke or whatever as long as got it, they'll replace it. you don't got it no replacement, simple.
Yeah, and that's a shitty deal compared to State Farm, who'll cover it regardless of if you can find it.
I also got State Farm insurance, and I ended up crashing in one month. They cut me a check in a day and aren't dropping me.
Mavic air or mavic pro ???
Air for better camera quality, mavic for its longer flights time. But if I had to pick one. The Air body looks more durable. But I’m waiting for the mavic 2 thats been leaked and looks good so far.
Mavic Pro the range is crazy
Look how much he is shaking it at the beginning of the video...no wonder why the gimbal craps out.
Hi I Have subbed your channel and just watch this clip. Some good info here. I fly a P# drone in Adelaide sth Australia
Thank you for the kind words and you got some amazing footage on your youtube page so you earn a sub from me. :D
Makes a great leaf blower lol
Yes It dose lmao
Can you give me just one mavic pro pls....
This is what makes the Mavic Pro a TERRIBLE buy. The gimbal is way too fragile. Don’t buy the Mavic Pro, because there is like a 75% chance your gimbal will malfunction and this kind of repair is just too much for the average consumer.
Can i have your old mavic it will realy help me alot!👍
If they didn't kept the defected ones and left me with them yes I've probably would been willing to donate the chassis.
Anafi USA better by far look at specs ppl
Because to my country I will save money it a 50,000 pesos can you give me the one old when you
D
Can’t I barely make enough UA-cam ad revenue to pay for a burger.

Right? Lmao
Lmao so you complain about the first done getting fucked but you decided to fly it in the garage
Don't need it any more
Oh no I have the gimbal issue too!
