    Im sure he can throw that shape in one piece. Dont understand why he needs to attach the neck separately. But the way he trim with the metal rib tho... 😍

      What’s missing in this demo is the amount of time needed for the lower part to dry enough and stiffen enough to support the weight of the neck.

      ​That wasn't missing. He talks about it at 1:20 in: "firmly soft clay, moving towards leather hard"
      There is no set amount of time it can take a given pot to dry to this stage. That can depend on factors like temperature & humidity or how dry the clay was when thrown. You can estimate how long that process might be, but it's safest to dry things very slowly (evenly) under plastic and check on it often to know when it's ready to add the neck on. He obviously had to practice this to know the best timing. You can't just set an alarm and come back.
