- Today's video will showcase the differences in dialogue for each of the 4 playable characters in Borderlands 3 across Pandora and Sanctuary. This video took me 13 hours to make and was an absolute nightmare to edit.

zane seems to be very professional, but he knows the exact minimal amount of professionalism he needs, and everything else is just zane goofing off however he pleases
Zane is like John Wick is you could hire John Wick off craigslist. He's overly qualified for any job you're asking for so he's just having fun with it.

Moze: a professional soldier seeking new missions as her comrades are dead and she has a ba robot
Amara: Badass siren champion who has never lost a fight, seeking a challenge.
Fl4k: Archive robot who gained awareness and now seeking to please death by becoming the greatest hunter.
Zane: A guy on retirement.
“Semi-retirement.” Which means his previous operations must be so high-stakes that being a Vault Hunter is something he does when he’s looking into retirement. Zane is like the John Wick of Borderlands lol.

Zane's dialogue is my favorite by far. Moze's is a close second.
Zane’s got the more unique dialogue options. Also he’s Irish so he’s automatically the best.

So one gripe I have starting with the Siren is that throughout the story they hardly acknowledge that you’re a Siren. Like hello, am I a joke to you? don’t you want to steal my Siren powers too?

The truth is that you play a person playing a video game. The four playable characters are actually just sitting on a couch somewhere with a Nintendo light gun and pretending to play Borderlands 3 like it's Duck Hunt. It makes the most sense.
Yeah, I wish there was more acknowledgement. Especially because Amara is everything Tyreen THINKS she is. Tyreen is just a shadow version of her lmao
The Pre Sequel had different lines for the characters through sometimes.
A bigger gripe I have is Amara's unbearable arrogance, she's more hateable then the calypsos
Idk if it’s just me but I like how Moze slowly dwidled down to being a lot more sarcastic and silly as the story progressed.
At first she was addressing her whole title to Claptrap. Then near the end she flat out yelled “BLOOD FEUUUUUUUUD” like Vaughn
It's likely that she was used to the formality of Vladof's military. I'm sure working with a band of lovable lunatics would change most people.
Ha zane yells blood feud too! Those two are my favorite, I hope moze becomes the new leader of the crimson raiders
It's the nice thing about WELL WRITTEN 1st person protags. It's not an easy thing to do, but seeing as the only means of development is in the voice lines, a well written and performed va can do a lot. Currently doing a zane playthrough, but I did moze first and had a thoroughly good time.

Yeah I was expecting a female brick but what we got was honestly not that great. I mean she's fine and fun as a character but I don't remember laughing at any of her lines.
I'm a okay with that, honestly i was really hapoy when i found out she was so arrogant and prideful in her fighting capabilities. Sure it's ond note but with how cocky she is over it all i love it

I ship it. Don't know how it would work and do NOT want the details, but I ship it.
They all complemented her though, FL4k, Amara and Moze complemented her sturdy body, Zane her rocket launcher skills.
Zane, by far, is the funniest out of them all. Moze however says pretty much what I'm thinking
Moze is actually the most normal out of the vault hunters of all the games- she's not a siren, not an eccentric or psycho, and specializing in mech combat means she doesn't need the action heroness of the other soldier vault hunters. Basically Roland and her are the most normal and stable of all the vault hunters, but Roland got to be an NPC in another game to show off some quirks, which were basically that he is the serious one who takes most things super calmly. Moze doesn't have his experience in letting the weirdness slide.
Zane's lines, to me, sound the most interesting.

Moze definitely for me. Her voice sounds so...normal. Not saying the other VH's have bad performances , it's just that Moze has an "everyday person" kinda voice. It's hard for me to describe.

Yeah... I especially remember Jack reacting to each characters differently. That kind of a detail isn't BL3.
I was thinking the same thing. Their dialog can add some personality to the ones speaking it, but adds no connection between the characters.
Cut scenes do the same thing. With 1, 2, and tps, they at least acknowledge the VH. 3, they act like CL4P-TRP, like they did it all w/o help.
Considering Zane is the oldest and most experienced, this is possibly just a Tuesday for him because he seems to be having the most fun

Super glad you put this up, really looking forward to the next part. I've been waiting for dialogue vids since the game's release. Also, it's really interesting to see how different they all are. Zane seems to have got the 'sillier' lines, FL4K is serious to a comedic degree, Moze and Amara are probably the most similar in how straightlaced they are (especially compared to Zane), but you could pretty easily tell their lines apart, even if it was just text.
"I'm Zane, and you're the lady from me brain!" And his other line when killing enemies "You couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo!" 😂 Gotta loves Zane's dialogue

Amara's lines are pretty generic, but I think that her voice actor does a great job conveying emotion

There is an option with lilith to not equip the grenade mod, all four vault hunter have a line like "eh, ill equip it later" Lilith will say "Its your funeral"

There's a dialogue option you missed with all 4 characters, it's not a complaint I'm just saying that, if you don't equip the grenade mod and talk to lilith you still get the dialogue but you hear them say something... Unique..

Gearbox said they have no plans for DLC characters in the foreseeable future. So you're gonna be waiting for quite a while.
There's a rumour that the dlc will be additional skill trees for the characters.
@@todinson9054 I dont think they will release additional skill trees as dlc. That would literally be locking additional functions behind a paywall, and gearbox does not want that. But they will most likely be released as a free update! If the rumours are true that is!

Zane is the more sympathetic and humanized character, which is why he’s my favorite.
I really like Moze and I made a right choice.

Amara and Fl4ks dialogue was downright awful and boring, tried way too hard on making them "edgy bad asses" and didnt infuse them with any humour. Zane and Moze however were awesome.
I mostly agree, FL4K does have his moments. It's not enough to make me interested in playing as him though.

When you take into consideration FlAk use to be a library robot it makes them better. Zane gets his edge by being Irish.
Funny in a dry way, I guess. I compare Fl4k to Agent Washington (Red vs. Blue) for being a character the audience finds funny, but don't see themselves as funny. Does that make sense?

I'm just waiting for more of Zane's stuff, his reactions to the Ratch mind thing and the Guardians is quite.. Well, literally me. Which makes him quite the best accidental choice I ever went with.
Borderlands will be perfect when they make unique stories and interactions with the vault hunters rather than making me do all the work just to exclude me from every crucial moment in the cutscenes.
I know- I wouldn't mind so much but BL3 had the villians win 2 big victories during a cut scene, when we could have stopped them just via interupting them with bullets. The Lilith fight presumablly we don't get to in time to help but the Maya cutscene has us there when it happens. I don't mind the story beats but don't set it up so the badass Main characters were apparently just standing and watching during these moments, have a REASON for them not to interupt or make it interactive to some degree. Maybe take some elements from Tales from the borderlands for those moments, a few limited actions we can do to impact those events, to give some agency and some plot variation, without giving the writers and programers too much work
@@timothycarney9652 In my opinion the worst is when Tyreen kill Typhon DeLeon or open Pandora, literraly you were rigth there, not in a Vault, not even in the next room and you do nothing. You just disappear.
These kind of cinematics are actually worst than the just non-cinematic in previous BL.
I feel like no one appreciates Moze.
Then again, Moze to me feels slightly like a Borderlands 1 character by the way she sounds. Maybe that's why.

@@tommybrad6393 Intro scenes of the game while still on the bus with Marcus. Lilth is talking to your character "in their head". She's portrayed by a live actress instead of being polygons. Just kind of stares at the camera and makes awkward smiles. It is really unsettling, especially against the video game background.

I played first/identified most with FL4K. He is as gentlemanly a robot can get, and as robotic a gentleman can get.

Amara is surprisingly chill. Being the "I wanna fight everything" muscle head, I really didn't expect such cool attitude. Zane is still the coolest character personality-wise though. Fl4k is... interesting, and Moze just comes off very soldiery. Not meant as an insult or complaint.
Thank you for this video, truly. I always love hearing the different dialogue lines but rarely have the attention span to replay entire games to hear them all.

I definitely like Zane! I love his humor. Never have regretted picking him first.
Zane is the best with dialogue and gameplay in my opinion he is by far the most fun to play especially with being able to use two of his gadgets which are all amazing I should add I mean who need grenades anyway lol
I actually didn't really use grenades that much when I played the last few games, so I see it as a good trade when picking Zane.
And his dome shield is amazing with literal invincibility from ranged damage
Lets give this guy some credit because he basically played the entire game with different characters just to get these voice lines!
I don't like amaranth, she's seems very self centred. Probably from the fame she racked up
I mean if I became a hero through my powers and had nothing else to do, Id be pretty cocky too. But her dialogue aint exactly the most interesting. I think its moze or zane
So I imagine all 4 of them being together during the game and can just imagine everyone looking at Zane like "wtf" most of the time.

I don't think he was attracted to her, its not in line with his character. He can just sense her potent "pheromones" and makes a note of it. The pause could just be because he's surprised at just how potent they are.

Best moment was when I (Fl4k) started dialogue normally then all of a sudden my friend (moze) running thru sanctuary screaming over com "blood feud!!"
