  • We arrive at our final destination on the Thames at Chertsey. We spend a little time reflecting on the past year and why we do love boats?
Going back in a retrospective makes us feel very emotional and proud of our achievements. When we look at our first episode of the barging fit out we can realise how much we have done with our both hands and no help from the outside world.
It is quite unbelievable that we managed to go through the whole project in 38 weeks. We were editing the video and questioning us all the time... how did we managed to keep the momentum going? Determination and focus, are the words that come up to our minds. The last thing we wanted was an unfinished project and have the biggest part of our money stuck there, so we had to finish!
Now, we are very determined in achieve all the goals we have for the next project. Sailing around the world with the World ARC organisation, but that will cost a lot of money that we are still working out how to get around. But we are again focused and determined.
    Wish us luck!

Have a look at the food we eat on board of Ocean Fox. A daily blog of our healthy lifestyle . We eat a Low Carb Mediterranean plant based diet and we just love it. Loads of fresh fish as we catch so much.

    Carla & Simon
    A little bit about us...
We met in the summer 2015, we were introduced to each other by the virtual world. Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach on Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony just like a dream!
Two days after the wedding laying on the beach, talking about sailing, Carla suggested... why don't we sail around the world? Guess what Simon said? "Let's do it" He took it with no second thoughts! And here we are, two years after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia.
We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way.
Now we are enjoying this wonderful life, and what a wonderful life it is!
As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted. But for these people it's a dream, or may not even be a dream.
We will look around and when the opportunity to help comes we will put our hands and hearts in to it.

Rewatching the effort that went into your boat was nothing short of inspirational. Outstanding team work for a outstanding result.

In episodio 89 è fantastica Vederla sott'acqua in libertà. Vero aveva ancora qualcosa di troppo, sarebbe stata stupenda

Just seen the locking of the barge door at the beginning of this video.. I would suggest that any key on any vessel should be attached to a floating key fob, just incase it falls in the water. Otherwise I do enjoy your adventures.

Yes, the key is attached to a little floating buoy. Thank you

" for you, not me" That was very funny. Very relatable to most couples of the same age. Looking forward to further adventures!

The siren call of wind and wave....there you go, so you are not spring chickens (hope that Americanism translates) but of course they are afraid of the water....this time I hope you decide to go all the way around and not just on the usual routes. Waiting expectantly!

I thought it a bad idea going up and down UKs grubby canal system right from the start. Especially when you've done something more exciting.

Well sometimes you need to experience something to realise it’s a mistake. Anyway we are going back to the big blue again. Cheers

Love watching you guys and applaude your efforts. Simon, in hindsight, do you think it was the right decision to build this boat rather than the bigger barge you looked at that would have required having a section it out of its length?

    • @SailingOceanFox

Ahhh that’s a big question. Simon would loved to have had the challenge of doing it but he’s very thankful we didn’t take that route. Would’ve been a totally disaster. Much more work and one thing that we didn’t have on this boat, chasing the rust! Cheers
