This is like explaining why wi-fi didn't work that well in the 2000s. It existed and was fun to surf facebook on your brand new Sidekick but was slow and inefficient as all hell before eventually improving.
After doing some research I realised that wireless charging for the most part, is a gimmick. Its cool that's its a deciding factor for some ppl but I would just be cool with improved battery technology and overall longer life cycles.
The fact that even wireless chargers are not even fully wireless and the pad is connected to the plug point through a wire ,it's just creating another problem and then trying to create a solution for it to make money , the wire charging works perfectly
I use my wireless charger all of the time, but honestly it’s only because I like having it docked while using video chat with someone. It’s otherwise not really any better than standard charging.
I mainly use a wireless charger and capacity has only gone down 7% in year 1. I also can use it on the charger because about 1/2 my time is using it for conference calls or playing audio/video… I just key up something and place it back on the charger if it’s below 90%. Every couple days I might have it drop below 60%, especially if I’m not working that day but it prevents a lot of charge cycles. I’d like to get at least 3 or 4 years out of the phone so wireless charging is definitely a good option… very convenient
Its not wireless, even the charger is connected to a cord. “True” wireless charging would be you walk into a room and and your phone starts charging automatically.
It's basically charging with inductive power. Wireless charging uses coils aka an inductor and basically transferring energy air using an coil is pretty energy inefficient.
I wireless charge regularly during the day. Not usually for long between pickups but it keeps the battery at a good level all day. One major benefit of wireless charging is you don't ware out your physical charge port. It could save a costly repair.
I love charging wirelessly at work, I could just remove the phone anytime I want, it also eliminates the problem of having your phone charger dock on galaxy phones rent the best so it's just a precaution on taking.
BRUH, almost all of these points don't apply to samsung phones or other wireless chargers. she says u cant use it while its charging, but u can if you have one which is a stand. and the reason some people get this is because if you have a job that makes your phone wet you can charge it without waiting for the port to dry out. also people have it if they are clumsy with their phone and always break the port in their phone.
Credit Card if the phone costs a lot of money, I expect it to make things a but more convenient and feature packed to match its high price tag. The use I stated is very useful. I don't expect wireless charging on a budget or mid range phone but expect modern day flagships to have them.
I've never understood the hype behind wireless charging. I mean, what's the point of making something wireless? Removing the inconveniences of an easily tanglable wire and allowing for a more free and fluid range of movement. But if your phone has to stay in the same place the whole time then what's the point? If anything, a wireless charger hinders you even more cause you basically can't use your phone at all if you're planning to do anything that requires movement.
No hype, practically. At least for me. I pick up my phone frequently and because of my desk set up at work, I can't use it tethered to a cable so I have to unplug to use and plug after use. With a wireless charger, my phone starts charging soon as I put it down. With a wire, I have to remember to plug it back in. I often forget. It's not for everyone, other people's work days are more suited for a wire. Mine is not.
SoTyp Me lucky for me I got a iPad with a 12w charger when you are inable to use your device when it’s charging I’m gonna be playing some games haha sucker!

Samsung s6 THE S6 FROM 2015 HAS WIRELESS CHARGER THAT IS NOT A NEW PHONE Samsung fast chargers work for everyone (will just use the highest the phone can take it is only Google that limits it)
I noticed right away when I got a wireless charger.. damn I cant really use it while I'm charging now? It's cool tech but not practical in the end 🤷♂️
There are wireless chargers out there where it fits at the back of your phone perfectly and you can easily pick it up together with your phone and use your phone as usual. Look up iWalk Portable Charger.
Annnnd this misses the point of wireless charging entirely. It's a place and forget kind of thing. You place it down to let it charge while you go do something else instead of having to fiddle around with cables. Let's say you are heading to bed. Just place it down on the wireless charger and it charges. Gotta pee or get up late? Just grab it and go, no worry about cables.
Nobody's denying wireless charging is slower than using a cord... just put a wireless charging pad on your desk at work or on the table next to your bed and you just lay it there when you're not using the phone and then your phone is always charged... it's simple.
@@Moose185 not sure what you mean yeah using a battery will degrade it but charging it normally will also degrade it so I'm not sure I understand your point.

Instead of looking at Instagram be productive or sit on a chair instead of a couch. 3. You can call "properly" using the speaker phone.
Aesthetics is. Huge reason for wireless charging. Maybe you don’t have high standards but when there is no cables but routes underneath desks and the like. You’ll wish you had a wireless charger. So you ride a horse and don’t use a car right??
MidgetSpinner69 well the thing is that I could use any cable to plug in to my wireless charging pad to work, so no need to have struggles on not finding the right charging cable like the lightning port to charge my phone
I use a lightning cable in my car while using navigation with my phone on a vent mount. Works perfectly fine. The cable doesn’t interfere with anything while driving, so still don’t see the point of a (probably very expensive) magnetic holder which still needs to be plugged somewhere in the car, no?
Oh no did you?? 😮 well, for me my phone gets quite hot when wirelessly charging, for this reason alone I stopped using it. Heat is very bad for lithium ion batteries, wasn’t the battery itself but the internal resistance
I think the author missed a key point, which is less wear and tear on the USB port. Especially the USB-C ports used in most devices today; those things hold a death grip on the cable and can be very tough to remove. Several friends of mine struggled so much that over time it cracked the solder between the board and USB-C port, rendering the phone useless. Wireless charging is definitely a huge step in the right direction.
*Wireless charging is just wired charging with more steps.* Instead of an electronic brick with a wire attached, it's now a *double* electronic brick with a wire attached.
The reason some people use it is because their water resistant phones charger port broke. Then you have a reason to actually use it. You basically don't have a reason to have this video
I haven't watched the video but here's my take on wireless changing. 1. It costs extra money to buy a wireless charging pad. 2. If my cable is working why should I opt for wireless charging. 3. Charging speed is slow than cable 4. With current technology, you still need to connect a cable to the "wireless" charging pad in order to power it to charge your phone. So therefore I find wireless charging technology useless rn unless if they somehow make it actually wireless or the speed is same as cable or they give wireless charging pad inside the box like the latest xiaomi mi mix
I have a wireless charger built in on my pc monitor. So everytime I am working I lay my phone on the charger instead besides me and it simply loads. I dont have to look for the cable all the time and it still is loading. It is just easy. And you know what? I still use loading cables when I have to be mobile. Wireless chargers are truly wireless when they are integrated into something like cars, tabled, monitors, etc. And it is the best and convenient thing ever to load your phone passively.
So loyal 🐑 I don't understand what so special about AirPower. If it does thing no different than other wireless charger, then what's the point to wait?
And we all still wonder why Tesla's archives and notebooks vanished after his passing. His tower of power worked until his financial backers found out that he wanted to supply electricity at a distance for free. Thanks Morgan & Westinghouse.
" Wireless charging is slower than wired charging" Well Duh ! That's like saying, receiving internet through a hot spot connect is slower than a landline internet connection. What do you expect !? You're bootlegging a signal from one device to another. As opposed to a direct connection.
Just got a wireless charger for my sgs8 becuase ive beeb through like 5 wires they keep getting fucked. Its pretty great though wish i had bought one sooner. It charges pretty fast even through the case i spent 15 dollars on amazon. Idk wht this video is talkin bout.
It is in my case, although admittedly I'm more of an exception to the rule - my male connector in my S8's charging port is knackered & as my S8 is now out of warranty the cost of repair, postal costs & inconvenience of being without my baby ... sorry phone I mean ... far outweighs the cost of a cheap wireless charger!
People miss the point of these Instead of leaving your phone on the table or in your pocket while working (or playing games), you leave the phone on the charger, so that if you need to take it elsewhere, you don't need to mess around with cables
Well, two years later and I can say that wireless charging has gotten cheaper, more efficient, and more desirable, as now most devices can be used on most chargers, which eliminates the problem of fumbling around with different tangles of cables.
I love my cheap 5 watt wireless charger that I have on my desk. I have an Galaxy S7 & the battery is holding up pretty good. I dont even charge my phone at night, just leave it on the wireless charger during the day & I'll fast charge when I need power in a pinch & am going to go hang out with friends or we get back & spend like 30 minutes in doors, I can quickly juice up back to 50% - 70% & that's plenty for the rest of the day. I have a replacement upgrade battery sitting brand new in box but I only want to replace this battery once the phone battery is so bad that I find it holding me back. I like getting the most out of my electronics & seeing how long I can use them for, it's fun like a game. Also by continuing to use the original battery I'm not contributing to e-waste which really I don't care about but that's also a plus of my lifestyle.
Hats off to you man! I’ve just bought a refurbished S7 recently. Waiting until I sell this iPhone SE 2020 until I use it. Due to the S7 being previously used the audio Jack and home button are worn.. 😕 I got another S7 because I had one in the past and I loved that phone. Well wouldn’t say loved but it was perfect for my everyday needs 😁
I have been using wireless charging since 2012 and it is super convenient. Even my cars now have it integrated. The issues mentioned here are extremely minor and more nitpicking.
Zero issues with my Samsubg wireless charger with my S9+...with a longer cord to the wireless charger I can easily use it when it's charging on a table and make phone calls with the speaker phone turned on. My ONLY concern...is if, the wireless method of charging in any way hurts the internal battery.
It charges without plugging any cable into your phone, so no wear and tear on the charging port and you can still charge a phone that has a damaged port, or if your cable is bad. If you expected to be able to walk around using your phone as it magically is charged by radio waves, all I can say is, LOL
They have their place. I use a cord in my car, and in my living room, where I will pick up my phone. At work or at night, I use wireless. It sits on its base/cradle just fine, and at work I can quickly glance at it when I am on my computer. If I need to use my phone, it is above 80% most of my work hours. And by the end it it always at a full charge. When it is at a full charge, I won't plug it in at home, because the battery is full. On my commute home I plug it in for Android Auto.
Add in that the quality of charge isn't as goo on top of being slower, finicky, and not being able to just use your device. I am content with my 10 foot cables, and 'fast' charge bricks. Call me when over the air charging takes over.
I do a mixture of the two methods. It ensures that my charging port will last longer (had bad experiences before). Besides, if I need to charge faster I can always charge with the cable since wireless charger needs a wall adapter and another cable to power the wireless charger itself. I'll just disconnect the cable from the wireless charger and connect it to my phone.

"Wireless" charger where you still need an outlet and cable, and you can't move your phone while sitting on those pads.
i think there is certain places where they work better. like in a car or beside your bed. any other place where you need to use your phone, a cable works better. but anyway thats only if your battery is low. having to pick your phone up and down from a wireless charger isnt really an issue if you have plenty of charge already

This is like explaining why wi-fi didn't work that well in the 2000s. It existed and was fun to surf facebook on your brand new Sidekick but was slow and inefficient as all hell before eventually improving.
"Most wired chargers have at least 12 watts"
(Shows Samsung's 15 watt fast charger and Apple's 5 watt charger.) 😆
It could save a costly repair.
wireless chargers be like "wireless" when it needs to be attacked to an outlet with a wire
I love charging wirelessly at work, I could just remove the phone anytime I want, it also eliminates the problem of having your phone charger dock on galaxy phones rent the best so it's just a precaution on taking.
But if you take the phone off it’s not charging anymore 😂
I bought my first high end phone last year and i discovered it has wireless charging capabilities. It's not that advertised.
What would happen if u use both a charger and a wireless charger to charge your phone

Aditya More or if your parents just are not tech savvy or at least know or care about plugging in. That makes it much more convenient.
This just an unpractical excuse to use wireless charger
U cant charge ur phone when its wet ? Ow.. i always doing it wrong.. ?!
Credit Card if the phone costs a lot of money, I expect it to make things a but more convenient and feature packed to match its high price tag. The use I stated is very useful. I don't expect wireless charging on a budget or mid range phone but expect modern day flagships to have them.
Still having a stand isn't comfortable most of the time

@@TR1426 EXACTLY..
Also the pad has a wire essentially it’s removing a wire and adding a new one

There are wireless chargers out there where it fits at the back of your phone perfectly and you can easily pick it up together with your phone and use your phone as usual. Look up iWalk Portable Charger.
Annnnd this misses the point of wireless charging entirely. It's a place and forget kind of thing. You place it down to let it charge while you go do something else instead of having to fiddle around with cables.
Let's say you are heading to bed. Just place it down on the wireless charger and it charges. Gotta pee or get up late? Just grab it and go, no worry about cables.
Nobody's denying wireless charging is slower than using a cord... just put a wireless charging pad on your desk at work or on the table next to your bed and you just lay it there when you're not using the phone and then your phone is always charged... it's simple.
jonah travisano this will degrade the battery
@@Moose185 not sure what you mean yeah using a battery will degrade it but charging it normally will also degrade it so I'm not sure I understand your point.
jonah travisano using a wireless charger over a wired one will degrade your battery health percentage more. Plain and simple. I know people who have bought a phone at the same time as me and used a wireless charger and there battery % has gone down more.

jonah travisano how long has he had his phone for? What iPhone is it? All these are factors.
But you have two ways of charging the phone and you don't use the charging port as much so you don't have to worry about it getting worn out
True.. I did use wireless charging for a few months, until I noticed my phone getting very warm whenever I charge it wirelessly.
00:43 No, the 12W Galaxy wireless charger isn't slower than that 5W iPhone charger.
1:58 "For the most part you can't use your phone while charging. You can't text comfortably without lifting your phone off the charger. You can't sit on the couch and scroll through Instagram, and you can't even take a phone call properly."
1. If you can't text comfortably just text like your using a keyboard or use siri.
2. Instead of looking at Instagram be productive or sit on a chair instead of a couch.
3. You can call "properly" using the speaker phone.

@@josholiver8833 Most people plug it in once and leave it like that. It's laziness
what if your charging port is damaged ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Aesthetics is. Huge reason for wireless charging. Maybe you don’t have high standards but when there is no cables but routes underneath desks and the like. You’ll wish you had a wireless charger.
So you ride a horse and don’t use a car right??
MidgetSpinner69 well the thing is that I could use any cable to plug in to my wireless charging pad to work, so no need to have struggles on not finding the right charging cable like the lightning port to charge my phone
I like how she says "almost all phone can charge with 12W through a wired connection" and then shows an Apple 5W charger 😂
There's also car mounts with wireless charging which I use on a regular. Very useful when using navigation or using bluetooth.
I use a lightning cable in my car while using navigation with my phone on a vent mount. Works perfectly fine. The cable doesn’t interfere with anything while driving, so still don’t see the point of a (probably very expensive) magnetic holder which still needs to be plugged somewhere in the car, no?
Wireless is a cool futuristic idea but more inconvenient than just plugging the thing
Why hasn't it taken off?
Cuz the other 71% like me are broke af 😂
you can buy them for like $10 at walmart.
I got tricked by the wireless charger, found out all the disadvantages stated in this video first hand after I bought one
Oh no did you?? 😮 well, for me my phone gets quite hot when wirelessly charging, for this reason alone I stopped using it.
Heat is very bad for lithium ion batteries, wasn’t the battery itself but the internal resistance
Good talking point for sure, beyond that. This video was kinda corny...
imagine just putting your phone down for a few hours to charge and reading a book instead. mind blown
the dislikes came from the wireless charging companies
And me
There is only one scenario where the wireless charging is useful, a scenario without a headphone Jack or a open port for the cable
The problem is that the battery runs out faster when you charged wirelessly too
how?
Yeah… how??
I think the author missed a key point, which is less wear and tear on the USB port. Especially the USB-C ports used in most devices today; those things hold a death grip on the cable and can be very tough to remove. Several friends of mine struggled so much that over time it cracked the solder between the board and USB-C port, rendering the phone useless. Wireless charging is definitely a huge step in the right direction.
What about for micro usb ports??
*Wireless charging is just wired charging with more steps.*
Instead of an electronic brick with a wire attached, it's now a *double* electronic brick with a wire attached.
3. Charging speed is slow than cable

I been waiting for someone to say this.
*The biggest problem of wireless charging is that it isn’t really WIRELESS*
It’s basically the same as plugging ur phone into a charger and setting it down and it charges faster, what is even the point of wireless charging
People miss the point of these
Instead of leaving your phone on the table or in your pocket while working (or playing games), you leave the phone on the charger, so that if you need to take it elsewhere, you don't need to mess around with cables
Cool Vid Bruh
Going to sleep now....
Sits phone on charger pad 👍🏽
I bet u didn't know that Samsung wireless charger is faster than apple's cable charger.

Its not wireless charging when I need a cable to plug the „wireless charger“ in
There are actual cordless chargers out there, not shown here. But there are.

When it is at a full charge, I won't plug it in at home, because the battery is full.
On my commute home I plug it in for Android Auto.
"Untangled" nice one

I do a mixture of the two methods. It ensures that my charging port will last longer (had bad experiences before).
Besides, if I need to charge faster I can always charge with the cable since wireless charger needs a wall adapter and another cable to power the wireless charger itself. I'll just disconnect the cable from the wireless charger and connect it to my phone.
