I always loved the GT90. The gt that made a handful of prototypes but never made it into production.

I always love gt500 (the 2000 ford mustang body) the way it looks, the way it sounds... the body itself feels made for the handle all the hprs

The most proper axle for a muscle car is a live axle as it is the most true incarnation of the traditional muscle car. It should be recognized that the keeping of the live axle in the Mustang was intentional by Ford, since their first foray into the IRS came before the S197 model, as is indicated by its presence in the 03/04 Terminator Cobra.
It should also be recognized that the S197 Mustang model has won quite a few racing competitions - live axle and all!
The IRS has its own positive attributes, but it should be noted that the live axle is stronger and more appropriate for traditional muscle car ventures like drag racing and performing smokey burnouts.
So, when I hear somebody using terms like appropriate and IRS and talking about how the live axle was finally gotten rid of, it leads me to believe that not only are they versed in the history of the IRS with Ford and the Mustang, but that they're actually getting their opinion from somewhere else and is not genuinely and unilaterally developed on their own. Sad. Disingenuous. Unoriginal and maybe even desperate.

I think the live axle suits the S197 and makes it more of a muscle car. However. The reason why I prefer the S550 is because of its emphasis on burnouts and being more of a sports car than a pony/muscle car. It suits my school of thought and preferences more. Which is why in an ideal world I’d want BOTH body style GT500s in my garage because they’re different when it comes to the driving experience. Let me just be clear, I don’t think the live axle makes the S197 worse, I just prefer the S550 because of it’s different setup

I think the S550 is an overall better car as it should be if they were infusing new technology into it. I've seen some racers slash enthusiast replace the IRS is with live axles for the purpose of hardcore drag racing in burnouts. I agree with you on the point of the S197 having a live axle, that new platform for the Mustang was designed to work with live axle and it's fitting with its retro looks.

There is big downside to the 7 spd tremec ecu is that its not tuner friendly and its locked from what I've heard many s550 gt500s are limited tho and its very sad

Yeah I’ve noticed that being an issue with a lot of more modern cars. It’s a real shame

For the uninitiated, it's widely accepted that a Mustang is both a muscle car and a pony car, because it meets both definitions. The Mustang started the pony car segment, but nobody would dare contend that a GT500 is not a muscle car, other than out of pure ignorance of the definitions and histories of both classifications.
