Love the video, honest and refreshing and I anticipate much more to come. As someone who is hoping to produce a few videos of a similar nature in the next 12 months, I completely understand just what a big step it is but I reckon you'll generate a good fan base in short order.
Thanks Mark. I appreciate your comments. Currently working on the next one. I find the hardest part is cutting/not using video taken. Very satisfying once finished though. Is that a new Harley you have? I think I saw one in Marbella when I passed though on this trip.
Such a refreshing video production. Nice transistions. It's so nice to see a new approach to video creating. And it's not amaturish - don 't knock yourself. I'll be following...
If that’s your first then then “well done you” as I’m already looking forward to the next one. Too many of these travelogue videos show to much boring road footage but you made it interesting. Personally I love these videos as I use them to plan my next trip so many thanks for taking the time to show us your journey 👍.
Hey grumpybiker, thanks for the comment. It makes me happy to think it's not just me that enjoyed making it, but created some value for others too. I'm halfway through the second eposide, so it should be out next week all being well :)
Love riding in Spain and the Picos is so accessible from Santander or Bilbao. Well done if it's your first attempt at creating a travel vlog. We based ourselves in Potes on our last visit. We love our drone, but I would exercise caution in any of the Spanish National Parks like the Picos. They do have some quite draconian fines if they catch you flying there. Hope the rest of your trip went well
Thanks and I appreciate the advice. I was surprised not to see any anti-drone signs actually. Fortunately I was the only person at St Katerina but worth noting for future about the regs.
Well done, an interesting video with great shots of the Picos (been many times). You can't beat that area of the world for biking, so long as it's dry. I've never toured on my own and think some good input for the next video would be why you choose to go alone, what sort of contingencies you apply for break downs or (dare I say it) accidents and a mention of the hotels (good, bad indifferent along with costs). Another idea is to give a cost comparison and preference between sailing to Spain and taking the run through France. Personally and even with the cost of £350 one way for a ferry, I think it's a no brainer when you add up the additional accommodation costs, fuel, tyres and general wear and tear, but that's me, so would be interested to hear your thoughts. Cheers.
Hi Tig-Boy. Thanks for your feedback, I really appreciate this as it's super useful knowing what people might be interested in watching. Total guess work to start off with. I'll implement what you mention over the following installments. I loved the Picos. I'd like to do them again someday and perhaps incorporate some hiking too.
Great production ,really nicely done ( great editing/IT skills ) Thank you for the effort of capturing and posting your adventure( I know how much time and work it takes) Btw. What editing program have you used?
Thanks, I appreciate that. Yes, it takes time doesn't it? I'm hoping the next one will be much quicker and a bit more slick. I used the insta 360 studio to export the videos and then put everything together in the Pro version of Capcut.
Fantastic first video. Really really good. A little contructive criticism, from someone who has never made a video so has no experience. Dont try and throw in too many camera tricks. The subtitles and map overlays were great though. Keep them coming!
Thanks so much for your thoughtful comment-I'm really glad you enjoyed the video! I truly appreciate the critique as well; it’s so helpful to hear how it comes across to others. I completely agree-it’s easy to get carried away, especially when you’re just starting out and experimenting with everything! Episode 2 (which is uploading now) might still have a few too many fancy spins and, admittedly, a lot of close-ups of me. 😅 But for Episode 3, I’m planning to tone it down a bit and keep things more balanced. Thanks again for your support-it really means a lot!
Certainly a fast paced video. There was a lot of camera vibration when setting off in Spain. Was that the phone or Insta 360 being used at that time? Subscribed.
Hi Mr C If it's the part where I had to stop - it was just a Samsung S20.The problem was that image stabilisation was off. Dissapointing as having it switched on forces the camera into a narrower field of view. If it looked like the X4 was being used, there are a few moments where I turned stabilisation off in post production as the video looked unnatural and too smooth. Problem I found with the X4 is that it does too good a job at stabilisation! What the X5 needs is stabilisation but a horizontal lock option too so you can get a bike first person view with the tilt of the bike and no shaking. Currently, most of the banking you see on my videos are added manually - very time consuming!
Great effort, but some of those transitions are awful. Its almost a transition on every clip. A very difficult watch for me. Great content but a bit trippy.
Hey Rob. It's a fair comment. I agree. I think they have a place, but I got a little over excited for my first couple of videos. Mainly because the way I edited the the 360 video was in one batch and I was new to the software used. I certainly plan to reduce the spins and flips! Out of interest, did you find the sped up video more interesting to watch than playing at standard speed, or would you prefer standard speed and shorter clips? All the best, Paul
Sorry but I can't watch this after a couple of minutes. Too much going on, too much fisheye and fast movements.. just chill out and use a normal camera. Too much fast edits, music pieces cut, flashing texts, fisheye movements making the viewer dizzy. Best of luck .
Thanks for the feedback. Appreciated. Yes, all a learning curve. I plan on making episode 3 an easier watch. I do want it to stand out a bit but not cause motion sickness 😁
Missus was happy to see you go!!! 😀
LOL! I thought that too. A little too happy.
Greer 1st video fella 👌…
Look forward to the next one 😎
Thanks Kevin. Much appreciated. I just uploaded the next installment :)
