I was listening to a podcast that said, “it’s important to live life by design rather than emotion. Basically, sticking to a routine of solid habits is what allows us to be the healthiest version of ourselves (especially when you're fighting these demons ex. OCD for me, lots of compulsive negative thoughts).
I actually cultivated discipline in my life, once I began practising mediocre consistency. Now I try to put in consistent 40-60% effort into my habits, despite my motivation, despite my feelings (ex. Studying) - to make sure I do it I began recording it and posting it on my youtube channel.
Like you said in the video habits can change your life, but historically Id go too hard, not being able to sustain the Herculean effort, giving up and hating myself. So now I’m trying to give a consistent mediocre effort everyday. And it all adds up to eventual mastery.

Dan, Can you make a content, on how YOU became better at articulating your thoughts and ideas into SPEECH, especially on camera. THIS is a very important skill, WHICH most of self improvement influencer DO NOT TALK ABOUT. Hope you see this message and bless us with your wisdom. And I believe it will gain a good traction towards your channel, because there aren't many, most of them are full of GENERIC stuff bs. ONE OF THE REASONS why your content is great is because you are AUTHENTIC, and don't lie, you spill little ins and outs. Hope you see this message and guide us forward. - your loyal fan

Dan, I am not sure if you’re going to see this comment; however, I am a self-improvement UA-camr, and I was so impressed by your article “life is hard. Get used to it” that I made a reaction video to the concepts you wrote about. Honestly, I had to re-read your article several times to truly understand it conceptually, which made it worth it to make a video about. Thank you!

So many of the things you teach in your videos, are very Islamic concept! It was a surprise for me to find this out myself as well!
As I became closer to my Creator, Allah (S.W.T.), I learned more and more about the way of life that is Islam.
And soon enough, Allah (S.W.T.) has caused me to discover your channel, and everything I was learning through Islam was in unison and in the same frequency as the things and paradigm you talk about. You don’t just teach habits or tips & tricks. You teach us to thing in a completely different paradigm.
I’m telling you, Islam will literally blow your mind if you take the time to look into what it teaches.
When I combine what I have developed through being a Muslim, with many of the things you talk about, it actually supercharges it all. It’s crazy how amazing this truly is, SubhanAllah!
May Allah (S.W.T.) guide you to Islam and bestow upon you His Blessings; Ameen.

Everything you covered has a parallel to my life, including the girl situation. I fell of the rail when we were asked to report back to office on an everyday basis. That messed up my routine big time, and I tried moving closer to work only to end up on a terrible accommodation . I've since found a good accommodation and I came up with a plan to adapt to the new reality. This plan involves making money on the side and transitioning to complete financial self reliance so I don't need a 9 to 5 anymore.

From a practical standpoint after the cumulative results of your experiences, a lot of the time people will try to negotiate and somewhat downplay your value. This is why you have to be an alchemist of sorts and continuously try to combine different elements that you have and are picking up into something novel yet worthwhile. It takes a lot of time and energy, hence the oratorical way of shutting people up. Calculated trial and error. Risk and fail at your own expense but with honor.

    • @weisscoaching
      @weisscoaching Рік тому +1

I believe Dan has videos on cheap dopamine - dopamine that is easy to attain such as from the social media scrolling etc. And the dopamine derived from achieving things. He touched these topics in this video.
Let me use an analogy with food. People who struggle with emotional eating reach for food when stressed because it creates a change of state. Sweets act on the dopamine system - first by changing your state in the moment, secondly by further reinforce this kind of behaviour.
If you want to change this behaviour, the effective techniques include physical activity such as going for a walk, exercise, but also writing, painting etc. They create a space between the want and the reaction, calm you down so you don't need to use food.
It can be hard at first but it becomes easier and easier with repetition.
Similarly, you can use that with doing the things that you are not excited about.
      Break the pattern first,
      then choose a different action.
Reward yourself for taking the new action

I know that many people believe that things like money or luxury are the key to happiness, but I actually think that some simple, healthy life practices can be even more important.
Things like spending time with loved ones, practicing gratitude, and taking care of ourselves both mentally and physically can have a profound impact on our overall outlook on life. These experiences may seem small or simple, but they can truly make a difference in our happiness and well being.
And even when things don't go as planned, I believe that we can still find happiness and joy in the simple things. Let's focus on cultivating these healthy life practices and finding joy in the present moment, rather than constantly searching for happiness in external things.
