I’ve owned my mossberg 590a1 for 2-3 years. And 2/3 of the information in this video was new to me. Such a versatile weapon. I now plan on getting that conversion for the ar/pistol grip. That is bad ass.
I admit that I haven't watched much of your content. However, the content I have watched has been great. I don't watch a wide variety of guntubers, so this might not mean much but the production quality of your content is more than superior to similar stuff I've seen. Ive had my 18inch Rem Police model from vang since 2016 and love it. And 2 years ago Me and Vang Comp did a SBS build and it is awesome. Cool Vid and big ups to Cody @VangComp
Except for my preference for Magpul stocks, those Vang Comp boomsticks are fantastic. The barrel porting alone seems like a really cool but also functional feature. I love my 590A1. It's got a 6 shot mag tube and has a bead sight. Pretty bare bones and simple but that simplicity makes it quick and easy to aim. Nothing wrong with ghost ring sights, my Remington 870 Tactical has them and they're perfectly adequate but sometimes simple works too. But that build is top tier for sure. If the zombie apocalypse comes, you'll be set!!! Edit: Now that you mention it, though I like the position of the safety on the Mossberg shotguns over the Remington or Winchester pump guns, I don't think I've ever really used it other than to cycle it just for the sake of cycling it a few times. It's still very tight to this day even after over two years of shooting it. But I shoot left handed as I'm blind in my right eye and the slide release is perfect for a lefty shooter with the standard stock or Magpul stock vs. the pistol grip IMO. That's just my preference and it might be more a lefty concern as your video showed no real issue using the slide release right handed.
Really nice tactical shotgun build and commentary! I believe that Mossberg makes the best pump-actions shotguns. For me, the pistol grip angle is the standout. It's much better than the grip angle you usually find with factory set-ups which are typically too acute. I noticed that because of your higher red dot sight position, you've adopted a chin weld rather than a cheek weld shooting technique. Have you found any shortcomings with this?
I made by dream shotgun for 800 dollars, 100% reliable shooting 300 rounds no cleaning, Panzer m4 speed tactical, ported barrel threaded for chokes come with 3, +7 magazine, adjustable stock, monstrum picatinny mounted side saddle, 2-1 sling, pistol flashlight out front for lightweight only needs to shine as far as I can shoot with shotgun and If i want longer brighter light i wear a headlamp, red dot, the Chinese make most of the firearms accessories for all companies then make the exact same stuff and sell with their logo for 30 dollars instead of 120-500 dollars. If i would have went all Benelli and what people call the best accessories it would have been 3500-5000 dollars to do this and for same results.
Aridus Industries has a CROM mount. Its a low profile mount with an rmr footprint that also has a a peep (or half peep) sight to co-witnis with your front sight blade. After having one mounted for years now, I cannot see how they havent dominated the market.

This shotgun is not affordable for the average American 🇺🇸. Vang Comp is top tier for modifications. Just get a 590-A1 with ghost ring sights,shell carrier,light and you will be good. If you want to put a red dot on it that’s good to but it’s best to have co witness sights.
That pressure pad looks like it would be the same exact placement as the tail clicky on the flashlight. You can ditch the wires and possible failure by just using the standard button.
You should check out Defender Tactical. They make a sight adapter with the RMR footprint as well as g17 iron sights. They have a few products for mossberg. I don’t have the adapter yet but I have their safety sight, mini shell adapter/follower kit and their mag cap rail for a weapon light.
The Vang Comp Micro mount does offer a lower shelf height than Scalar + RMR but I get what you mean. Hot button is great. Modlite button is fine if it holds up.
@@VangComp yeah I run both buttons on my rifles but I’ve never ran one on a shotgun. Was able to get a an older surefire light 618 i believe. 🤔 Damn $90 bucks for a vang comp. 👍
S&b 12 pellet is excellent stuff for great price 🔥💥👍👍 nice setup. Funny the maverick 88 would almost be better ergonomics for safety but just leaving it off and running "cruiser ready" its very safe in storage but ready for action with a single pump

I wish Vang Comp sold just the 18.5" ported barrel for the 590A1 separate. I have a mid 2000's police issue 18.5" 590A1 with the same front sight post as their barrels and it'd make for a nice modification. I'm definitely going to get one of the Mesa Tactical stock adapters for my 20" 590A1 though.
How was you able to push the buffer tube all the way in. I have the same things you do, but I still have a couple of threading left. Do I force it in ??
Add a kynshot buffer tube with the mesa tactical adapter and it’ll be smooth as butter. Kynshot buffer tube is a hydrolic recoil absorbing system…been running it for years it’s amazing.
Thanks for the opinion on the ACRO. I was on the fence. Mine is the 590a1 spx.. I used the ERGO m-lok aluminum fore end. Mine also wears a 600 series Surefire. LOL the m9 bayo was a bit much but hey WTH it came with it.

I think I will VangComp my gun barrel and mesa/handgrip/ BCM/Magpul my stock like yours, No light but a laser for me! Will look more at your other builds!
I bought and installed the Mesa Tactical AR Grip and buffer tube adapter. What a POS, cheap cast metal, uninstalled it, and realized it had cracked when installed. The slide lock access is a real issue and takes away from the function of the shotgun, would not install the modification.
Which item include the stock nut? I already got my buffer tube and stock adapter but no stock nut yet. Stock comes tomorrow, hoping its packed in there.
The 18.5 500/90 XS tactical/persuaders were the best cqb pumps out,take the shell caddy off the stock side velco it,toss a limbsaver classic slip/sportwrap on a classic AR style stocks just dremel off excess plastic on the collapse lever best stocks ever any LOP/☁️💨🐌,but most import leave the oem mossy pump straps are best weightless VG/handstop as hand/arm hits are common in gunfights,also cut/zip n S-wrap some pipe insulation for comfy cheek riser works great on S2K as well
I’m building a Mossberg 500 with the same adapter. I will be adding on a BCM pistol grip, and buffer tube. My question is did the mesa adapter come with a castle nut to attach the tube? Or would I have to buy it separate?

Scalarworks sync/03. Low as you can go with a shotgun red dot. 👌 love mine. Ditch the modlight and use a unity tactical mlok hot button.

Pistol grip prevents quad loads which is the most powerful shotgun tactic imo. You should consider learning it.

When you added the shell carrier what did that do to the OEM ghost ring? Basically make it obsolete?
Did you consider the Crom International alluminum adapter? It allows for a folding stock due to rear picattiny mount.

Just call them up, They can either take your current barrel and do their magic on it, or sometimes they have barrels in stock just don't advertise it.

The Aimpoint Acro does not mount directly to a picatinny rail btw. It mounts to the proprietary acro interface and you need a picatinny adapter.

You will need to pick up your own castle nut! It does come with a locking mechanism, that attaches before your castle nut though

I understand the pluses of an ar style stock for control with one hand and keeping hands in but it makes using the safety impractical
Unity Tactical Hot Button - MLOK, no need for an adapter for your light button.
Thats why you don't put a pistol grip on a shotgun, you can manipulate the safety with a normal configuration.
