And that bite was more of a love bite. Affectionate…. It’s when she turned her back that the cat ‘sprang’. Watch again. It would take barely any effort for a tiger to maim a human, and all this one did was try to nibble her to work out the power dynamic between the two of them and probably got overstimulated for a second. Just that one bite could have meant her entire arm, if the tiger were trying to hurt her. A direct swipe with its claws would be straightup devastating. A little snappy bite like that was actually a more docile way for the tiger to try to communicate, rather than just latching onto her. All in all, this was a pretty lowkey tiger that was just overly enthusiastic and then confused about the situation. Tiger had ZERO clue what was happening, as one might expect from a wild animal in an unnatural setting. Please, don’t try to touch animals in these settings. You don’t know them, and they don’t know you- all they’ve got to go on is instinct and impulse. Predators like this have way way less impulse control than a human being does. Even if they genuinely don’t want to hurt you, they might do it anyway on an impulse because of a signal that you never even knew you were giving them.

I was at the secret gardens in LV before it shut down, watching several tigers in a cage with a short bush in between. I was holding a four year old and noticed one focused on us pace a couple times then it’s tail twitched. 🐅 Not sure why that triggered me but I jumped backwards holding my niece just before it sprayed exactly where I was standing. It hit a guy walking by. We went to pet dolphins after that 🐬🐬🐬 I admit I was a bit shaken after that.
