- Here is the full video of the major metro disruption that resulted in the evacuation of around 16 metro stations on the evening of Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at around 10:00 p.m. EST.
You can see the short version of just the evacuation announcement in this video here:
• ⚠️ Massive Montreal Me...
-----
On the evening of Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at around 10:00 p.m. a Code-900 (dangerous matériels present) sounded for Frontenac Metro Station on the Green Line of the Montreal Metro system.
Most likely, it was a result of someone releasing pepper spray, an incident that ironically happened at the same station earlier in the day
After I heard the announcement, I headed towards Berri-UQAM on the Orange Line, but by the time I got to the station, the metro service has returned to normal.

When the announcement is both French and English in Montreal Subway it means it’s very serious
Yes very true
@@SkyOfTheUniverse it means shit hit the fan
@@SkyOfTheUniverseestai kinda cause de linteruption du service
What’s even more hystorical is that they made the announcement both in French and in English. Very rare for the STM.
Yeah usually for emergencies they are in both languages.
Hysterical not hystorical lol but yes
If you wanna know why the announcement was made in english, its federal law that any emergency evacuation announcements must be made in both official language
Thanks!
@@SkyOfTheUniverse I believe it's also the same law that forces trains to keep the back door to be unlocked for emergency evacuations, and why the MR-73 middle doors can be opened and its not locked
I never knew this about the back door. You mean the cab door?
@@SkyOfTheUniverse No the doors that leads to the next car in the 3 car train set, the one with the mirrors that you can see into the next car
@@Transitfan93 oh yes those. I see people moving through them sometimes.
C'est tout un enchaîneent d'annonces aux voyageurs ! Bonne vidéo merci Sky !
Merci!
Vrai
Wednesday the 16th?? I was in the metro that day! There was another disruption that day on the yellow line because of an equipment problem between 11:40 AM and 12:05 PM! I left the metro by the yellow line at about 3:30 PM! I got lucky.
Yes I remember the Yellow Line issue! I'm not sure what happened, but I know they are doing construction at Berri-UQAM near the Yellow Line
I suppose having to evacuate 16 stations is done so with an abundance of caution factored in. Fortunately there wasn't a serious vehicular collision resulting in a catastrophic fire/fatalities, a worse case scenario.
Thanks for the comment George! Good point indeed. It was a pepper spray that someone released I believe. I'm going to reply to your emails Friday and I plan to get a piece of Coronet Pizza Friday night!
once they had to evacuate the entire green line!
1:08 for the large announcement
during a code 900-07 they need to evacuate all 5 stations form both directions to push out with the big vents all the hazardious stuffs. If it's happen by exemple at Villa-Maria Station , they need to count 4 stations on the blue Line to evacuate. if you have more questions i'm a employee in the metro
Thanks Jonathan! Are you a metro operator, maintenance? I have a few general metro questions
@@SkyOfTheUniverse i'm the employe who's selling tickets so i'm in charge of a station if something happen. You can ask your questions. Je suis agent de station ( i don't know if you speak french ) :)
My french is not very good but I'm trying to learn haha. I was curious what Code 106 meant? I hear it occasionally. Also, what are the controls for in the older ticket booths behind the ticket agent? Merci!
@@SkyOfTheUniverse sorry for the delay , the code 106 is for the emergency supervisor, if i remember , they are 2 or 3 supervisor , 1 at Lionel Groulx and the second is at Jean Talon and the last i think is at Berri Uqam. The old control pannel behing the ticket agent is the old way to control the gates , the escalator and you have a old people counter. We doesn't use anymore because all this things are now on one computer. I hope that answered your questions.
@@johnspartane No problem! Thank you very much.
I was also wondering do you know if there is on MR-63 element left that the STM has stored somewhere?
I wonder if someone reported the announcement to the OQLF thinking it was illegal or something.
Lol
0:39 someone is yelling
Yes always in the metro lol
Lol
Pourquoi lopérateur ferme les portes manuellement? Il a coupé le courant dans les portes pour pouvoir les fermés
Je pense! Mais, je ne pas certaine
I don’t speak French and I’m going to Montreal in September. If something like that happens when I’m down how am I or other only English speakers supposed to know what’s going on? The announcements need to be in English to
Yes very true. All I know is the emergency evacuation ones are in both languages
Interesting, they don't make announcements in English?
Yeah true. Only emergency ones
So with the sations being evacuated, I guess all the lines have been disrupted
Yep exactly
i got exacly the same probleme today but cant upload the vid it was evacuation cote vertu to LG and snowdon to UDM

Medical emergency or suicide at Vendôme Metro Station
@@SkyOfTheUniverse that’s horrible… I really hope that wasn’t the case and that they’re getting help
@@Weeesnaw sadly that what may happen here linkua-cam.com/video/U7xjNB965co/v-deo.html&lc=UgzLpGXhuFa9_423HHR4AaABAg
