Hello Chris. I have been very keen to find out about this lens since it was announced, and I remember you saying in a previous video that 28mm is not a focal length for you, so I thank you very much for taking the time to review the lens. I'll just have to save up for it now! A superb review as always and all the very best to you!
been a while since I last saw a video from you on canon dslr.I was wondering if you had moved on from your 70d to a full frame or something different. I ask, as I too invested in the 70d after watching quite a few of your videos. And would like to know your views of what would be ideal a canon camera as a follow up to the 70d. 80d is too similar so not exactly the best option. Would you agree. Hoping 2019 finds you as blessed as always. 🙏🏽
Having a 40mm Sigma Art in your tests (in special for low light/sports/fast AF) would be very nice :-) I tend to use some Art lenses for my full frame indoor sport photography :-)
As usual, anotther excellent review. I had a 6D and find that the Art 35 1.4 just suits my type of shooting. Not clear how I would fit a 28mm prime into my style of shooting, but Sigma must have a market in mind. Btw: I really hope you have received some viewer financial contributions to your excellent array of video review...you certainly deserve to.
Hey Chris, love your review. They are useful and right on the point. (I found a lot other reviewers like to spend too much time making jokes and talking useless stuff) . Just curious, will you be getting Nikon's body and testing their lenses in the future?
@@steven2809 The 30mm/1.4 Art is a very nice lens, but these full-frame primes are better wide open. I chose the 35/1.4 Art for my 80D, instead of the 30mm. Never regretted.

I'm fairly certain this Sigma is better in pretty much every way than the Otus. You don't pay Zeiss money for absolute best in class performance. Not anymore anyway.
It sure is expensive. I'm shooting on cropped sensor (photo and video), so I'm guessing the $720 Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 is the best thing I could buy based on your past review on it. :)
Christopher is the best, and most honest, lens reviewer on UA-cam; they are happy to provide him with lenses. I wouldn't be surprised if a Sigma man called Christopher.
Still $600 cheaper than the Nikon equivalent. (Canon only goes to f/1.8 and Sony doesn't have a 28mm f/1.4.) Though I do understand the cost killing the interest. That's the reason why I think I'm avoiding the 70-200 G Master.
@@RealRaynedance Hi, I did watch and it looks lovely. However, I have just shelved out on a Sigma 105mm and my pockets can only be so deep, so I am looking for a bargain in the 'slightly wide' arena, but not a zoom.
@@nicklaytonUK Yeah, I can see that. I'm kind of in the same boat, though I'm not looking for a 105. What mount are you looking for a "slightly wide" lens for? I might be able to give an opinion.

Hi @Christopher, I haven't been a photographer or camera buddy for a long time but since I have now jumped into it, now I'm wondering as to why do we have to multiply every lens's focal length to 1.5 or 1.6 in my Canon 200D case to ge the actual focal length. And this also apply to the lenses specifically made for APSC bodies. Could you please explain this to your audience in some future Q&A type of a video. God bless you and ♥ from here. APS-C cameras have a smaller sensor than full-frame, so the image is cropped. If you own a Canon APS-C camera, then you always, always, always multiply by 1.6x, whatever the lens may be.
