As a Markkanen fan i'm so happy Bulls traded him away and got nothing back look at him now! All-star caliber player putting great numbers in Jazz Teams asking for him on trade. I also remember many Bulls fans trashing Lauri when he was in Bulls and i hope he will never put Bulls jersey on again and keep developing somewhere else!
Being a Bulls fan has sucked for the past 5-10 years outside of the first half of the 21-22 season. Just constant disappointment from ownership, coaches, players, rookies, the draft lottery and most of all the front office. We waited 3 years for any trade to happen and the first trade they do is trade Alex Caruso, a fan favorite with a good amount of value, for a player who has shown that he is at best a bench player when it comes to the playoffs and honestly is just going to take the ball out of the hands of the one bright spot on our roster in Coby White. If we didn't luck into draft the GOAT we would literally get no more respect than teams like the Clippers or Nets.

I didn't get the news until my girl called me at 10 something at night while I was on my PS5 and when she told me that Sacramento traded for Demar, I literally started running around my house yelling in excitement

@@ColdHoopsI mean in all fairness Demar’s play style is more so reminiscent of a bygone era I don’t think he’s a logical fit anywhere just because excessive midrange shooting doesn’t really have a place in basically any offensive scheme nowadays. But he does get buckets and there are very few teams that can reliably trust their second defensive option on him so I think he brings some amazing gravity just because it makes defense insanely hard to play against the Kings

You say the defense will be fine when Sacramento's defense is not good at all. They're the Indiana Pacer's of the West. Getting Demar does make the Sacramento Kings better but they never fixed the main issue which is defense.

@jamesdavidson8306 uh kings' defense was top legitimately top 5 second half of season. Yea their defense will be fine. Demar shores up the offense which was actually more middling than their defensive stats by the end of the year. Kings aren't a contender but they'll be fighting for top 5 in the west for sure.
@@Havoc369even if their defense was worse having Demar Derozan as your second scoring option and Domantis Sabonis as your third makes it crazy hard to plan defense. Like the Thunder (Shai, Lu, Caruso, Chet, Hartenstein) and the Celtics (White, Holiday, Tatum, Brown) are the only teams I can say would reliably have 3+ defensive options that can play into this offense
The Kings are better than the Lakers as of right now. The Lakers have NEVER been a serious threat to anyone outside of 2020 but I still have to hear people like LOW cry and tell us that Darvin Ham is the MAIN reason why they lost🤦🏾♂️
(Btw I think Ham is at best an average NBA coach so I’m not saying he’s great)

Don’t sleep on SAC. They have had an incredible resurrection of their franchise with Fox and Sabonis leading the charge. Adding Derozan to the mix is going to make them a top 10 offense. Combine those 3 with a 6MOTY candidate in Monk, an elite 3 point shooter in Huerter, and a rising player in Murray makes them a legit contender.

Demar Derozan isn’t going to change much for the Kings, he’s already in his mid 30s and isn’t that good on defense and his value is playing an inefficient style of basketball being the mid range.

The Bulls waiting to make all their rebuild trades is mostly the fault of the owner, Jerry Reinsdorf. He wouldn’t allow them to start the rebuild last trade deadline because he wanted them to make a push for the playoffs.

Bulls fan here. It’s not the front office it’s ownership. The Reinsdorfs require that they have to win as much as possible. They are joining a new network and want to win as much possible to keep investors happy. Plus, they always want the UC to have high attendance.
Also, the front office did want to rebuild earlier by trading up in the draft, but ownership would not let them. AC could have went for clingan.
Also, DeMar was going to walk anyways. The fact the bulls got SOMETHING in return is a win.

As a bulls, I definitely think that the FO has waited too late to move players, but the lack of context (or incorrect info) is CRAZY. The picks that went to the magic were top 4 protected and even the one that goes to the spurs is top 10 protected. Lauri was injured, not playing well due to his role changing and the relationship had gotten to a point where a change of scenery was needed. He did not look like an all star in cleveland either btw. Lonzo was a good signing until he got hurt, wagner looked pedestrian this past year, and theres no reality where trading a 30 year old Caruso (who's been dealing with big and little injuries btw) for a 21 year old coming off a down season is a bad trade. Again, I agree the FO has sat on their hands and waited too late to start pivoting, but add context with what's going on. People are forgetting that the Kings (at the end of their season last year) PUT IT TOGETHER and become insanely good, not only that but because of INJURIES they fell to the play in spot.
They not only added a significant iso player to improve their shooting and rim pressure, but their second team lineup (which was put in because of the injuries last year) were 4th is defensive rating at the end of the season for their lineup.
Kings ARE gonna be good Low, you just don’t see it yet.
Honestly, DeMar to the Clippers would've been the cleanest fit. The team is loaded with Shooters. Their best players are shooters from 3 so the spacing wouldn't be an issue. And it would make moving Westbrook to the Nuggets more palatable.

I grew up watching Kobe and outside of the 2020 championship (which really doesn’t hold much value) the whole organization has been terribly run since the tail end of the Kobe era. I don’t know how long you’ve been a Lakers fan for but it’s more than a Lebron problem, it’s all around from ownership to front office and nobody cares to mention it although it’s the harsh truth. The team needs an overhaul after Lebron retires top to bottom especially if JJ Reddick doesn’t work out as head coach which I’m not really that sold on him being better than average.
By the way I’ve been a fan of the team since I started following sports in 2003 so I’ve seen the far better years that had the Kobe and Phil Jackson pairing, which was definitely one of the best superstar-head coach pairings of all time. If Kobe saw the way this team was run, he’d be rolling over in his grave.

Harrison barnes does not offer more defensively than derozen by any metric. They also both operate frequently in that mid range nail position. Derozen is a clear upgrade over hb and this puts the kings in the 4-6 seed watch. Also you should note that if fox makes all nba he makes significantly more on his extension, no player signs extensions in fox’s position this offseason.
