    I am 57 years old today. I was 2 years old when my father, a fighter pilot in the Indian Air Force, flying a Gnat, laid down his life on Sep 14, 1965, during the conflict. It makes me immensely proud to hear Nitin discuss India’s victory. I was not aware of his book, but shall now purchase and read. In remembrance, with pride. Jai Hind.

    It's baffling that StratNews has so less subscribers than other hyped up defense channels with questionable information.
    The quality is an order of magnitude better than other 'defense' channels.
    Keep up the good work Nitin and team, you are doing a great service to your nation.

      Mostly because Indian people in general have lost the ability to tell the difference between useless shouting and calm presentation of information in a comprehensive manner.
      Anyway we should be thankful for the few good channels that exist.

      Intelligent and well informed people have less friends because they remind people of how little they know. How can a person of my own age be so well informed, so accomplished and written books etc when i have wasted away my own life watching serials? So people want to watch other people of similar intellect but who are bombastic and rabble rousers and appeal to their emotions rather than logic

      @@vve2059 it is not an outright defense channel.. It is mainly midea outlet which discusses Pakistan administration and society fault line.
      Also it sometimes discusses India's internal national security and social unrest and issues.
      After the Chinese incursion, they did couple of episodes on that too.
      I agree it doesn't the nuances of Pakistan and Chinese defense strategy and it's armament.
      It is more of a glorifying media outlet with some amount of critical information.

    Remember it is the "GUJAR" graziers who alerted the Army be it Tanmarg or Narian. Not the Kashmiri Muslim . Till 05 aug 2019 the gujars were as suppressed as the valmikis , gurkhas, Sikhs,, bakharwals. The Kashmiri muslim of the valley ( his ancestors were Hindus ) were brought up on a fallacy that they are different to India and Pakistan. This brain washing was done by Abdullas, Bakshi Gulam Mohammed muftti and few families . Let us at least now put the facts on the table for the coming generations. I wish you would have also mentioned about the first kill by "Trevor Kellor " in his GNAT of the much touted US SABRE . HARBAKSH saved the day. JNC was found wanting.

      u r right. gujar muslims alerted indian army. gujars always hated kashmiri speaking people. secondly, the brain washing was mostly done by maulans of bihar, UP, MP, kerala . abdullahs etc had almost no role in brainwashing. there were in power. radicalisation diluted their power and separatist leaders especially geelani is most powerful person in kashmir now. those in other states of india , don't any idea about mentality of kashmiri muslims

    Even in 1999, it was the Bakarwal shepherds who informed the Indian army that Pakistani troops had occupied the posts on the Kargil heights. The Bakarwals are Muslim shepherds who are residents of J&K and take their sheep into the greener pastures as the climate changes. They are loyal to India.

    I was still in school in the 9th standard when we used to hear of Patton tanks going down one after another. The IAF also did well with the diminutive Gnat Fighters, better than the Sabre Jets of Pakistan.
    Significantly Pandit Lal Bahadur Shastri proved to be a man of organisation, rising to the occasion, than 'better educated' erudite, hyped Pandit J Nehru.

      Hamaree yahi problem we give too much respect in 65 again we again abide by un resolution of 1947 and did not change the status quo in Kashmir, while ideally we should have gone for whole pok and Gilgit once and for all, Punjab of pakistan would not have been possible because the action would have been shown us in a bad light as Punjab borders were already internationally decided.

He won the Haji Pir pass. Why we traded that, for territory in Gujrat, I dont understand. May be your book answers that question.

    It is less talked about, the fact that people of Jammu and Kashmir and even Ladakh have played crucial part in providing timely information and in crucial times about security threats from Pakistan and China . In India a lot of us think that people of Kashmir are traitors and support separatist movement and terrorism which is not completely true , only a few sections and regions of Jammu and Kashmir are wilfully doing it or forced to do it under the threat of their families being killed . We should not assume the worst of Kashmiri people . Their support of Indian Army and Security forces has become more and more evident in past few years and increasingly in the last year. Just look at the successful operations the Indian security forces are carrrying out and foiling the attempts of Pak backed terrorists to disrupt the life in Kashmir valley and else where in the region of Jammu and Kashmir. Local residents are providing the information about terrorist hideouts to the authorities so that Police and Army can have better knowledge and take necessary actions. Jai Hind

      I think things changed after January 1990, locals throw stones at the army jawans whenever they get a chance. It will take some to change their behaviour.

    • @Charanms
      @Charanms 4 роки тому

      @@hiteshsaxena1553 Well, you might be right there , but there was significant polarisation based on radical Religious belief of Islam which was used as a weapon during 80s and 90s which led to the Exodus of Pandits from the valley. Stone pelting is a recent event comparatively which is a first step to Terrorism and its recruitment. Separatists have done their damage which will take time to repair. The whole defensive attitude of the establishment will only hurt the Armed forces. Daily shelling of Pakistan headquarters and casualty of Paki Army personell is the cure to the narrative war in Kashmir.

  • @ajanup1
    @ajanup1 4 роки тому +1

    And you forgot that it was the strong leadership of the diminutive Lal Bahadur Shastri who reposed full confidence on Indian armed forces and was gutsy to throw the Pakistanis out. After that Indira Gandhi and then Vajpayee. And now we are stuck. Or do you think we are ready to take on the Chinese. Any time now. Or sit back for the long haul. Jai Hind.

The king wanted to be independent intially but pakistan attacked and he wanted indian help for which he signed IOA ,read it if you don't know what it is . So once IOA was signed Kashmir became legally part of India and Pak continued attack which from that point on became attack in India.Also where did India attacked Pak in 47, all the wars where fought in J&K area only

    India has neither been able to recapture the POK and Aksai Chin not has it ever made any real attempt to do so. India has also failed Tibet and failed to secure its eastern border. Kailash Manasarovar remains under foreign occupation. All the Indian politicians do is push the problem to the next generation to resolve. Except for Bangladesh and merger of Sikkim state and to some extent Siachen , all under PM Indira Gandhi, India has little to gloat about. PM Lal Bahadur Shastri failed India by handing over the territories that Indian Army won. Indian leadership has failed to recapture and recover a single square inch of lost territory all these years. So .. let's not celebrate others failures ...Instead India, needs to focus on its own failures and evaluate its leadership options.
