$56 for 1/2 lb of shimp??? The cost of shrimp at my local grocer range from $6-$9/lb. You can't teach soul, but you can teach math.

GeekBella. IKR. Steve likes anything because he can't cook. Anyone who knows how to cook grits knows you're supposed to put your seasoning, cheese, and butter into the water before you add the grits. And you can also cook them in low sodium broth instead of just water. But if you have a good seasoned broth on the shrimp you can put that on top of plain unseasoned grits.

To prevent lumps in your grits carefully whisk any lumps out. Once the grits is almost done add the cheese of your choice. I like creamy grits so I add a little evaporated milk.

    • @IndigenousIndianLady65

I wouldn't know where to go in Charleston except I had a great brunch at one of the hotels on Market St and they had awesome shrimp and grits. Magnolias as well.

That's not southern cooking that's why his restaurant failed. He's
trying to make something simple into special. A dollar bowl of grits into a twenty dollar meal. You have to put on a suit and tie just for some toast. Keep your gourmet grits. I'll hop my ass in my kitchen cook my own grits bacon eggs toast coffee and lay down and go to sleep. He can keep his Martha Stewart breakfast I like aunt jaminema

Unfortunately for the common folk, organic food is way up in price now. past year normal folk are suffering ... my grits are a great way to get some nutrition and it's cheap still

Eddie May He might have said Gracious God ow(our) (fahtha) father.....Notice he acted like he was about to say a prayer of thanks because it was so good. He does not pronounce most words all the way out, many of us southerners don't

Grits should be whisked into the boiling water. then add butter and salt turn the burner down low and cover stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. stir in the cheese after cooking while the grits are hot. that's a no fail grits recipe.

That is exactly how my Granny taught me how to cook grits when I was a little girl. Like verbatim!!! (She was from Lake Charles, Louisiana btw.) 💞
