I always struggle with bunkers. This is the first video I’ve seen where speed is the core skill and it has helped me already. Thank you for your down to earth, common sense attitude.
You and coach sharing bunker tips has allowed me to not be afraid of bunkers over the years and maybe once a season I have a ball I don’t get out. Once you start having confidence that the ball is coming out and you’ll get down in 3 at most it’s a complete game changer!
Mark, these short effective videos are excellent. Really appreciate your continued evidenced based instruction.
Thank you for being on my top three list of UA-cam golf instructors. I'm getting better because of you.
I love how this is different than the other more common technique taught. It’s simple. It’s easy to set up. It works. I like it. Thanks Mark!
never had you down as a guitarist mark, respect 👊🏼
Mark , I’ve been watching your videos since day dot, ( coffee machines and chat), your still nailing your delivery, content and brilliant instruction mate . Thank you
Great tip I've always wondered how to hit longer bunker shots. Mark makes the complicated understandable thanks.
Love getting bunker tips. These seemed very helpful. Thanks
Always great videos and instructions Thank You 👍👍
Enjoying this series
Im off 2 and i am hidious out of bunkers !!! Thanks mate for that vlog !! Devon boys united ! Ok matty is a janner like me , but your included 😂😂😂
Some great points. I found that taking the body a little out of the swing and a little more arms helped me dial in more accuracy around the green. The big turn seemed to be the source for a lot of inconsistency me for.
Great tip about the wet sand! I use Rory’s T setup with the ball forward in stance, lots of loft and a path square to target line. The path (not face) controls the direction. Then all I do is just look about an inch behind the ball. You can give it plenty of speed but you’ll never thin it.
Great video thanks
Great vid as always, however i rarely have a flat lie like this at our course, can you share tips on ball above/below feet and on up/down slope (up at the face or at the back on down slope) please? Thank you sir!
"Hit behind the ball". Easier said than done. The real issue for most of us is inconsistent low point, and it causes the struggles with medium and short irons and full wedge shots and bunker shots. I break 80 on those days, when I miraculously have total control over the low point in my swing. But I have not found the ideas, the drills, the techniques, which help me to achieve the consistent low point, well, more consistently. 😉
Thanks!
I REALLY like this
Thank you Mark for the tips. Lately, I’ve been finding my bunkers to have dense, wet sand. I struggle to get out of these and have bladed shots way over the green. Any suggestions of how to get out of a dense compacted sand bunker? TIA
Noticed no mention of either weight being massively forward nor ball position way up front. Almost looks like your ball position is back of middle. Suddenly solved my bunker issues by using such a ball position and weight distribution, too, based on Parker McLachlin's similar advice. Now I've essentially seen it twice lately when I'd never seen it before. Hmmm. . .
I'd love to see tips for short bunker shots. The 15 yarder is generally pretty straightforward. The shorter ones, however, are really tough for me.
Lovely ideas when playing a lovely bunker in summer in the UK. Any chance of a vid during UK weather during the 11 Months when the sands are compact and wet? Otherwise cracking vid
How does it work that the club face is open, but I still swing along the line of my feet which is lined to the pin?
I dont have issues getting out of bunkers, but I tend to get far too steep on it which leaves me with jangling wrists after.
Been working on the shallower type of swing but seem to struggle with thinning and chunking it. Difficult!
How do you hit the sand first??? I always pick clean and fly the green
it's when the bunker is like concrete!! I have a problem sometimes I'll putt it !!!
Watching break 80 videos while trying to break 99999+
My issue is there is very little sand in our bunkers so speed just causes the club to bounce-thin which is horrendous!
Less sand dedo reduce speed but keep the length of swing. 👍
You don’t take into account that we as a rule play on courses that don’t have your quality of sand in our bunkers or the quality of drainage in our bunkers. If I was to land in two bunkers on my course then I will most likely require two different shots. One I may be able to present loft whereas the other bunker may have much firmer sand which would result in my club bouncing into the ball using your suggestions
@@Crossfield_mark Not quite sure your meaning re "Hit me up"
Hiya Mark, what do you advise when the bunkers are quite hard and not much sand, for example if it's rained hard so the sand isn't nice and fluffy. I find that my club bounces to much and then it leads to a thin nasty shot. I tend to go up to my 60 degree with less bounce and try and clip ot off the top with varying results. Any tips on wet bunker play would be useful.
Rake and place.
Just realized I just asked the same question. These are so frustrating for me.
Depending how firm it is, sometimes I chip it. It will go a bit shorter though.
I struggle raking bunkers every time I turn around there's footprints 👣
The most amazing part of this video is you went 80% there and didn't go full Top Gun - I feel the need, the need for speed. Maybe it's just me.
