Most underrated and unclassified band of all time. On SP so they’re grunge - fucking no. Melodic hardcore, possibly. Punk, sorta. Seaweed kind of created a genre twenty years before it existed. They should be huge
Best band ever! Me and my best friend wrote them letters around the time of this tour . We went to the Cleveland show where they opened for quicksand. We are a bunch of acid and gave the letters to wade Neal. He was surprised we recognized him. I was surprised I could talk! They were so good and during the show Aaron the singer said “this song is for Zach and Aaron (my friend) because they are such good letter writers. I melted!!!!
I hitchhiked to see these guys play with Green Day, Doughboys and Bad Religion in Toronto and the promoter started the show late. Green Day opened up and only got 10 minutes and Seaweed was given 12 minutes of playing time. It was a total bummer.
They survived a major label album (great) and ended up on Merge. Definitely out of place from sub pop onward and every album was great and a step ahead. Great live as evidenced here. Out of place and not concerned and that made them timeless. I was a garage punk snob but couldn't deny them.
Drummers. Whatcha gonna do? :-) My favorite story from my son's days of touring small clubs.... It's time to go on stage.....where's ##### (the drummer)?? Finally find him....out in the van gettin laid! Drummers.
@@georgelong5492 I'd be interested to hear more about this. I saw them in fall 1992 and they were great. But before that I heard they had a reputation for kind of being dicks/immature/destructive on tour. I always hoped that wasn't true - or that maybe they grew out of it?

Only got to see them 5 times. I wish it was 1000.
AGREE!! I saw them once, at Penn State in October '92. It was like this but a bigger stage. Incredible time.

La testimonianza dei gruppi che suonavano musica davvero, oggi il nulla più assoluto. Respect Seaweed

@@DaveAnchovies What is this one?
@@burnlastsunday Chalk the Cracks 👍
These guys almost made it.
They really should have, cross between Nirvana and Pearl Jam without being lame about it - but caught in the bullshit post-Nirvana wave of bands
and maybe a bit of Samiam- who also didn't make it
They were typically arrogant and mean to their contemporaries so the industry put them on hold,

@@krewgarrWow. I've never heard anything like that. At least individually these guys are all pretty chill.
Nothing rocks anymore. People have lost their balls. Miss Seaweed!
