I appreciate that you share the bad plant moments along with the great. It encourages me and reminds me that fails happen to us all. Thanks Kaye.

Great info on houseplants and overwintering fruit trees in the home. I only have 5 easy to grow houseplants. Kind regards, Marie

Hi Kaye. Sprinkling cinnamon or garlic in the soil around your potted plants repels aphids and whitefly. Cinnamon smells great too!❤️

Pineapple sage is edible. I have sage plants that do come back after my cold snowy winters, zone 7. Another thing to watch for on citrus trees is scale. I thought I'd lose my lemon tree once it was so badly infested, but luckily it came back.

Kaye, I put pineapple sage leaves in my salads. Never tried to overwinter it... it's one of the few things I purchase every year.
I haven't been on your channel for a while. I am so sorry to hear about your mom. Condolences. Moni

I love that you have a basket near the fire for the kitties. I have a box and a couple carpet sample pieces near my wood stove for my kitties, they love the heat. 😻

Good Morning Kaye - Yes getting rid of pests indoors is very challenging and appreciate the tips you've used to eliminate them. Hope you get some lemons now that your plant has gotten some nutrients and treatments. I only grow herbs every three years as I usually get plenty to last me to a future season. Hope you have a wonderful week my friend..

Yet another great video from our favorite homesteader “Miss Kaye” .. am thankful for the knowledge you shared about eating fruit first, before a meal. Most mornings I start my day with a handful of dried cranberries and four mandarin oranges, so hopefully I’m on a good track. Sweet to see Spot meander in and out of view, looking for his sister? .. maybe up for a good chase through the house? Wishing you warm temps and sunny days to get the homestead humming along, God bless!

    Hi
Amateur here, I have grown my lemons from seeds I dried and planted
2020 remember that horrible year !
    Got into gardening thank goodness
So five years and no fruit yet hoping this is the year
This is the first year I’ve left it outside, in a south facing bed in a pot it’s got too big for my living room
It will loose leaves your plant and they are temperamental, but hang in as they seem to be hardier than we think
    Thanks for your information
    Enjoyed your info

Yes, I lost one nice sized lemon this winter to aphids, and I'm afraid that they will be taking over in the garden. I plan to spray neem early. Thank you for all your tips.
I slather my hands all the time with a homemade lotion made with homegriwn herbs, also a tallow lotion I made. But I looked down at my hand at church today, and I had a tiny hairline crack in my skin, and blood was dripping! It's that time of year.
My friend Cathy and I are both growing Sweet Annie this year! I went back and watched your video from 11 months ago. I started mine in a strawberry package using your same method. I got on the NIH website, and what I read about it blew me away! Use the Latin name Artemisia Annua. A lot of seeds got started yesterday. So I'm very happy!
A word on sage. I planted "Garden Sage" in 2023, and it has lasted and gotten bigger. We had colder weather for a longer period this year, so we'll see if it makes it. But I planted "Long-Leaf Sage" last year, and I hope it also comes back. My thyme is still fine, even after below zero temps.
Made a batch of fire cider today. I'd like to make another jar. We have been using it a lot more this year.

You can also spray mealy bugs with rubbing alcohol. When I lived in Riverside County, CA, I had some trouble with them on some of my cactus and succulents. So far, I've not seen them since moving to SW Missouri. Of course, I don't have many cactus and succulents here. I hope you are able to eliminate them.

My grandson loves Dragon Fruit so I bought him two plants for his birthday. Have you ever gotten any fruit from your plant? Don't worry about the coleus, will be planting more of that in my greenhouse this year! I am absolutely addicted to this stunning plant and do not know why I have not incorporated into my landscape more often.
Where did you get your pineapple sage?! I love this plant but cannot find it in the nurseries anymore. The hummingbirds and bees love it and the smell is lovely!
Lavender is easy to grow from seed. Ive tried both winter sowing and greenhouse and both worked. Lavender wants sandy, rocky soil. No fertilizer, no rich humus. I planted twenty of my seedlings in the gravel driveway and they are flourishing. With the ones in my front yard bed I amended the soil with sand and they are doing just fine there, too. They are still alive through this very cold weather.
If you look in the front pocket of that book at the end, Kaye, the patterns are there to sew the projects. It even has the stencil lettering to embroider your work. This book is gorgeous to just look at even if you do not sew.
What a great video with so many moving parts. Loved it!

I had lavender come back every year in the front yard of the rental I had in Colorado. Is that normal?
