The moment in Jules' story where I heard there was an unspecified daughter that was in Louisville during the infection, I immediately thought "Hey, that'd be a pretty good hook for another season one of these days." I'm pretty excited about this one, seems like it's gonna be good.
Yeah, it's been a fan favorite theory that the Martin's daughter would come back around at some point. I was rather 50/50 on it for the longest time, but now that I have a community I can lean on for voicing the protagonist, it felt like the right time to provide another interesting variety to the cast of characters.
It took me rewatching Jules' story and getting to the point where he discussed the Martins to remember the thread. Which was a bit of an "Oh shit!" moment.
The female voice actor knocked it out of the park. I also love how she trapped grant in her bathroom, im hoping to see more ingenuity from Emily instead of direct confrontation, especially as shes running out of ammo. I think having to think about the hippocratic oath while dealing with the undead is an interesting story element. Does Emily still believe that the infected are alive? Would it be right for her to kill sick people as a doctor?
The voice actress has been absolutely killing it, and I can't express my gratitude towards her enough. Couldn't have asked for a better individual to work with. As far as Emily's thoughts and feelings regarding her oath and the infected, I imagine that will come more into view after the instinctive shock of the outbreak settles. People don't often delve that deep into their mind when new horrors are constantly throwing themselves forward, but there will certainly be a time of reflection that will test Emily's resolve in a more internal way.
My most recent character struggles to kill half the zombies because she's from small Riverside, small towns know most of the inhabitants and she struggles with knowing they aren't alive, but knowing, for the moment, that it's a virus and some viruses can be cured!
I noticed Emily wears glasses, and as a person with really bad eyesight to the point I have to wear my glasses every waking hour, being caught in the apocalypse and somehow losing your glasses or breaking them would be devastating. Your vision is so blurry basic shapes and colors is all you see, you have to squint to somewhat see anything. My eyesight is that bad anyway, it would be a nightmare for me if I ever lost them in the apocalypse. I can't just get new ones since I need 2 different lenses. It just makes me think that no one really focuses or thinks about how important glasses are to people, even more so in the apocalypse. If you lose them you dramatically hinder one of your major senses. I just hope Emily never loses her glasses, if she does, I hope her eyesight isn't as bad as mine.
As someone who wears glasses on the regular, I have 6-7 spares, as I never throw away my old glasses. Rule of thumb, keep all glasses saved for those beyond repair. Learn how to repair glasses
@@NetrunnerMox77 I personally can't afford multiple pairs, I've had the same ones for about 7 years and I definitely need new ones. It's just too dam expensive
@Rokume zennioptical and vooglam. Glasses there are like 25 dollars with scripts. They only get pricey if you want transition lenses. And it's not that I buy a ton of spares, I keep all my glasses from every script and visit. Most of my spares are 5 plus years old.
I love the incorporation of lore in your stories, it makes it feel so real. You're still the best Zomboid content creator I know of because if your storytelling. I hope Emilly makes it out of Louisville before it truly gets bad
With this season highlighting the true spread of the Knox Event, I thought it was vital to showcase some of the more important broadcasts offered in the game. The lore of Zomboid is a bit of a mess, but I feel like it's pretty thematic as a situation such as this would spawn a host of inconsistencies, conspiracies, and horrific events.
I do try and find something new to add to each season, and it's a mixture of fun and pain to figure out creative ways to bring Zomboid to life. Sometimes it's natural and easy, other times I'm fighting it tooth and nail to piece together a scene that I feel is necessary. :P
@@twowheeledgamingtry my journal method, by letting each event unravel naturally! Each day builds the story and all you do is make it into a watchable event! My first character is female, I do random characters while toying around with different trait builds! Had it been male, I might have even tried something like this in the long run, film the play, write the journal, then edit both together into a film, but I like Kari Meza, and the journals are actually making for really fun addition to the game! All thanks to you🎉🎉
I spy the hiding mod. Also seems like the mod where zeds damage themselves while banging against doors, windows, and barricades. Love seeing more of these flavor mods added gradually.
The storytelling is perfect in this scenario, especially since I have an aunt who’s a doctor, and her first name is Emily. This story’s already off to a good start
It's a real treat to have a community that's so eager to contribute their time and effort towards the series, and I'm always happy to see more and more people included to provide even more variety to the world.
OK. I am actually excited where this story is gonna go. I see it will be difficult going with this story because of her broken leg, but she will turn into a tough survivor. I can't wait for what to come in this series.
Each survivor has had their fair share of difficulties, at least Emily's major one isn't too problematic since we're very early on into the outbreak breaching Louisville.
I finished Jule's story not long ago and then binged the rest of your series. I always wondered if the Martin's Daughter in LV would be ok, would be safe even. And I have a tingle of hope that this is their daughter. And if it is, I hope she meets Jules after they've both survived a while. Probably a pipe dream, but I like to dream!
I don't think it's a "spoiler" to confirm that this is the Martin's daughter, but as to what her fate ultimately is, is yet to be determined. The likelihood of her meeting up with Jules isn't 0, but there's a lot of barriers and hurdles to overcome before that even becomes a slim chance.
You and me both! I keep playing a million scenarios in my head for what it might be like if they met. I know it's very unlikely for Emily to even live long enough, let alone even meet Jules if she does, but I live in hope.
@@twowheeledgaming I can only speak for myself but your Videos are basically the only ones where it's a small celebration every time one comes out. I truly always look forward to new parts of the stories.
I like how this played out. I like how this was played pretty much as one would expect a young female doctor would, choosing to use the gun or evade/hide rather than go toe to toe with the undead. Looking forward to seeing how this goes every bit as much as the others.
I'm already a big fan of how her story has begun, since the goal going into this season was to focus on the early days of the outbreak. Thankfully I've gotten a bit better about steering away from the "game routine" of Zomboid, so I feel like her initial actions and decisions are much more believable than some of the earlier characters.
I really respect how you play the character here and not game knowledge, especially firing the gun etc except that a medical professional would not have some of these corpse/ people dieing issues. it wouldnt be new to them.
Let's go a new series!!!!!! I do hate having to wait for things, but this is ALWAYS worth it! My first thought when she pulled out the gun was: "Well, she isn't going to have a fun day" but I guess not. It also made me so happy seeing my name on the members list :)
Happy to have ya for the start, and greatly appreciate you supporting the series! Emily's initial days are definitely "calm" relative to the usual Louisville situation, but that's in an attempt to stay true to the lore of the game before all hell breaks loose.
Yeah, the voice actress certainly deserves just as much credit as myself in regards to bringing Emily to life. Couldn't have asked for a better person to work with for this season.
I'm genuinely thrilled to be working with Emily's voice actress. She's been blowing me away at every step, and I can only imagine how the character will develop with her being the fuel source.
Really exciting start, looking forward to this one! The multicomplexity of a doctor in the apocalypse against zombies is going to be interesting to watch. Good luck Emily!
Omg finally a season that I have the opportunity to watch as it’s releasing, this is gonna be like an actual show bro, also the girl doing the voice overs, Oh my actual god so good. Both you and her are like voice actors this is so good already
I'll gladly admit that she puts me to shame when it comes to voice acting. XD I've been serviceable in the past seasons, but the actress behind Emily is truly inspiring to work with. Truly looking forward to seeing how Emily develops with her.
Love this female character! A very straight laced uptight young resident doctor. Sorta like Harleen Quinzeel, the bright psychiatrist, BEFORE the Joker transformed her into a homicidal maniac. Cannot wait to see how this "rattled, scared young woman" transforms from Emily the scared to Emily the Zomboid Killer! Great video!
Happy to have ya, and happy you've enjoyed them all! I know it can be quite a different experience to wait for each episode to come out once you've caught up, but hopefully I don't keep you waiting too long at any given point. :P
@@twowheeledgaming No worries on a wait! I look forward to it, but you have inspired me which a whole new play style! So I have plenty of my own stories to tell. Excited to see what's in store!
Ugh. I’m used to binge watching TWG’s vids now lol. Steam rolled thru the first 3 seasons, favorite being Jules’ season, now I’m here twiddling my thumbs waitin for this one lol. Can’t wait, thanks for the awesome content TWG
I do try and get the episodes out as quick as I can, but I am only one man. :P All I can do is hope that the wait is worth it, and continue to try and bring you all the stories you like to see. :)
@@twowheeledgaming oh believe me I understand. I’ve got a channel where I make vids and they’re no where near as in depth and put together as these and they’re still a grind. So I can somewhat imagine what these beasts must be like to put together lol. No worries, I know they’ll be great cause I can see the effort put into them. Thanks for the awesome work, excited to see how Emily’s story plays out.
Have been rewatching the trials of Jules the last few days. Wondering when we'd get a new installment. And BOOM it finally pops 😎. Awesome job as always and kudos to the voice actors, y'all killed it. Very well done and thanks for the good entertainment.
Glad to hear that people are still enjoying re-watching the older seasons while waiting on my butt to get the new episodes out. :P I do really enjoy seeing people calling out the voice actors, since their contribution can't be overstated enough. :)
Always try and open each season a different way, and glad that this one appears to have landed correctly. I'm just as interested to see where this goes as you guys are. :P
This is amazing man, I am truly inspired by your storytelling and how it has improved through each character. This is a fresh start and has a lot of potential to be one of the greats by its attention to detail in the story. I loved how she chose to carry a shopping bag over to carry more food items, a small thing to notice, but allows you to fully immerse yourself in the story and humanize the character. Keep up the great work man! See ya in the discord.
You've really isolated the "simple elegance" of the style I've fallen in love with so much. It really doesn't take much to tap into people's desire to connect and relate with characters, but once you do, it's an absolute delight to dive into the personality that begins to develop. I enjoy figuring out who these people are right alongside you all, and those small decisions and moments are a big part of how they get characterized and presented.
Hooo boy! I'm finally caught up, fresh for the start of the next season! Maybe it's the sheer excitement of the new release but I was so invested in this episode! It's so nice to see a woman, for once and IT'S GREG'S DAUGHTER?! To be completly honest, I didn't connect the dots at first but that is SUCH a good idea to connect the seaons even more! Now we just need some S3 mention and everything gets connected... If it fits, of course! Maybe I'm just a sucker for realistic, heart-wrenching starts but the sheer panic of having to kill her neighbours and how Emily handles the beginning REALLY works out nicely! The voice actress goes crazy and when combined with the editing and her hesitation, constant back-and-forth at fear and pushing past it... Yeah, it really works out is what I mean to say. But man did I get antsy seeing her shoot her gun at all! Realisticly it makes a lot of sense but gameplay wise I was expecting she would have to abandon her home pretty quickly... But I guess that comfort is still hers, as slim as it may be. Okay, so in conclusion, that's one immersive episode that really seems to tie Emily well to Jules's start, even though there's less of... starvation and all. Still, I get the same vibes from them so I'm VERY excited for this season! Great job, man, hope you're having a day as good or even better than I after seeing a new episode at this channel!
Sounds like the video landed where I wanted it to. I've been wanting to go back to the start of the outbreak for awhile now and give it the proper attention it deserves, and it feels like Emily's journey is perfect for that. So many little things fell into place to make her start feel "real", and I hope that it helps make her transformation all the more interesting when we're able to look back at these early episodes once we're deep into the season. Kinda along the same lines as Jules, it's crazy to see where he started and where he ended up by the end. Anyway, truly appreciate the comment and I'm looking forward to bringing you even more of our new girl's story! :)
I was eagerly waiting for the new season and somehow did not get the notification! Well, good sir, you've made this a very special Friday! Thanks for all of the hard work, these stories are so amazing. I especially love how they've evolved from "Zomboid with some narrative" to "Narrative with Zomboid", where the early game grind isn't there at all unless needed by the character. Great work!
I know this is the first episode, but I absolutely love the character of Emily - she is not some Rambo that straight up decides to go on a murder spree, she instead acts as any real human would in this situation. And with myself being a member of healthcare, her noting about her kills and trying to really figure out what’s going on, I am more than invested in her character. Imagine if she actually discovers a cure, but there’s no one left to cure…
She's definitely getting the most focus on her "start" compared to anyone else in the series, and that's partially by design. Jules had a very similar personality, but we didn't get to see this part of his journey since we picked up with him months into the outbreak. With Emily I'm pretty proud of her pacing as the chain of events feels very natural, and it will only emphasize the transformation she goes through once we're deep into her journey and can come back and reflect on these early days. I'm also super intrigued with playing around with the medical aspect of her character and motivation since that opens up a variety of doors for storytelling that we haven't had access to yet.
Always gotta tip my hat to all the other people involved. It's been awesome to grow a community to the point where so many others are willing to contribute their voices, and I'm always incredibly grateful to them.
This reminds me of many of my runs. I love the RP aspect of PZ and so when I can RP the beginning, I love it. I typically RP in British Columbia though.
Good Lord... Sometimes you people really leave me speechless. I really do appreciate your support, and can only hope my work lives up to everyone's expectations.
i really do hope to see a series of emergency broadcasts on the tv as we go deeper down the story. and who knows, maybe even a final government collapse announcement with the national anthem. that would make this 100 more eerie than it already is.
The idea of somebody commandeering a TV station would be so fun! We know that Jamie and the folks at Necedah have the radio airwaves, but might anybody try the TV station? Now I want to see than happen!
Loving this new season already! I like that you're playing a female survivor this time. Emma's rational and cautious nature has me invested already, because I don't know what she'll decide to do next. The VA you got for her was fantastic, too.
That's always my favorite part about starting a new season, is finding a different personality to filter all the events through. It'll be very interesting to see where Emily ends up in the long run. And yeah, the voice actress has been absolutely killing it in her role. Can't sing her praises enough.
People have been hungry for a female protagonist for quite some time, just had to figure out all the logistics and feel confident enough to finally take the plunge.
I just got into project zomboid about a couple days ago and I'm going to buy it when I go to the store next lol. I've also been trying to find good UA-camrs and man, I love your videos so much. The story telling for all of them is just amazing and I watched Grover, Jules, and Jamies's stories in the past 3 days since I found your channel. Keep up the amazing work and I can't wait for your next saga man.
Dude, same. I've had almost no chance to play it, but I bought the game pretty much exclusively because of this series. Unfortunately, everyone I have to play it with is pretty door-stompy, so it's not the same experience.
He man, I just finished your Grovor series and wanted to say you're doing a good job on these little series and it's easy to see you're putting a lot of work into these videos. Good job man, not many who take the time to do this kind of storyline content to this degree.
How cool! I'm looking forward to the next episode of Emily's series! I loved the female survivor; when I play, I only create female characters because it's easier for me to see myself in their lives! Success to you and this new series!
If you're looking for an idea of what Emily could do, I had a character in a roleplay server who was planning on finding a storage unit to shack up in so he could capture infected via traps, bring them into a storage area, and work on treating their injuries, cleaning them, and work on trying to find a cure. I wasn't able to do this sadly so I'm not sure the exact logistics on how you can do it, but it could still be fun.
That's certainly a fun idea, but I try not to think too far ahead for any given character since the randomness of the run is what decides their personality and goals more often than not. That being said, I am interested in exploring a "cure" with Emily, since she's the first medical professional we've seen in the series.
Holy heck this was awesome! I'm glad to finally see a female survivor and she's a doctor too so we get to see the more logical medical field mind in action of the apocalypse/outbreak Also loving we get to see even for a brief of neighbors helping another out even if it was the first findings of the infection And seeing Emily's turmoil with it and noting down the first infecteds in her journal Can't wait for the next episode to see how it'll continue
There really are a ton of neat things to play around with and explore this season, just have to hope I keep our girl alive long enough to see them through. :P
i hope the indie stone sees these and adds the reminants of the details of these stories to their own in game found survivror stories to the base game if they complied logically.
Oh my god, I would literally break out champagne if that happened. I really hope they do. To me, this IS the story of the Knox infection. Whenever I see someone at one of the featured locations, I can't help but think, "Hey, that's Jamie's house!" or "Look, it's Little Hope!"
Honestly, these are just awesome. Thanks so much for your creativity. I love the concept of a lady doctor. I can not wait for more. These are so fun to watch. I have watched your other stories multiple times.
your videos remind me of 'old youtube' and I mean that in the best way possible lol, excited to see how Emily's story plays out...perhaps a Jules cameo is in the works 👀
I'm just happy that people are enjoying my rather "different" style when it comes to "gaming" videos. Emily's story is certainly going to be an interesting one, and if all the stars align, it's not impossible to have Jules come back into the picture...
Hey, I just thought of a potential issue with these that might arise in build 42. It's adding more vocal sounds. That sort of thing could potentially get in the way of filming or editing. Just realized that and figured I'd point it out. There will probably be some mod within a week or two that turns it off.
Yeah, I took note of that when I was reading through the Dev blogs and assumed about the same. There might be an in-game option to turn them off given the Dev's track record, but I'm sure there will also be a mod to remove it if that isn't thought of before hand.
@@twowheeledgaming On the upside you can extract those voice files and overlay them into episodes for things like simulating events or creating ambient sound. If you try to do that with a lot of sound files the UA-cam copyright system will flag the video but since it's a Zomboid file in a Zomboid video it should be fine.
Each season is gonna be a bit different for everyone, and that's mostly by design, but I am glad you're vibing with Emily's journey so far. While we've spent very little time with her, I'm also loving how her story is shaping up, and I'm very much looking forward to seeing where she ultimately goes.
Survivor 1 : Begin with a letter opener not knowing what to do Survivor 2 : Begin by starving alone in a the middle of the forest Survivor 3 : Begin by barricade is apartment and don't want to go outside Survivor 4 : So anyway i started BLASTING !
Oh man, i can't wait for the rest! I might go and watch one of your other series wild waiting, which one is the parents? Is love to know the lore woke waiting for the rest of her side of the story!
The lore that directly connects to this season is the Saga of Jules Wade, though his story relies partially on Season 1 which is the Saga of Jamie Nichols. If you're looking for some content, there's a pretty good backlog at this point. XD
I usually make these comments blind, but I'll be honest: this will be my seventh or eighth rewatch of the episode today. And while it probably won't be the last, I have noticed things, and I have questions that must be heard. So, without any further ado: new season, new survivor, LET'S GOOOOOOO!!! Alright, So we're starting at July 12th. Welcome back to summer again, y'all! And ooh, in Louisville! This will be an entirely different beast from what we've seen before. Good luck, newbie! You always know that kids suffer in scenarios like this, but thinking about it is something the mind just sort of automatically shies away from. What that newscaster must have seen to even mention such a thing. . . it must be really bad in Louisville. Oh dear! We all know where this is going. Poor Lucy! Alright, I just GOTS to know who Logan is. I figure he's probably Lucy and Grant's son - could also be a sibling or nephew instead, or possibly even another neighbor, but I figure him being their son is most likely - but who is he to our leading lady? Friend, boyfriend, coworker, friendly neighbor who borrows a cup of sugar sometimes and waves while putting out the trash? Poor Grant! He tried so hard to get Lucy the help she needed, but there was nothing to be done for either of them. I wonder who bit him? I know that Lucy caught the airborne strain, so Grant obviously had no idea that he should even be worried about himself. Poor Emily, having to lead a zombie upstairs on a broken leg. That must be agony. (I'm still deeply curious how he got bitten.) How did Lucy end up in that closet? Did she get confused and wander in there in the moments before turning? Honestly, I'd hide under the bed and cry too, in that situation. YES. Girlie is prepared! And it's honestly super-sweet for Greg to give her a gun. 'I would kill for you but I can't be everywhere at once' is a lovely sentiment. The idea of the zombies wearing themselves out and bashing their own heads in is FASCINATING. More media really ought to work with it. I like her pink living room set! I wonder if Kathy helped her pick it, or if she's just that fond of pink? The street is oddly empty, even for the early days - is Emily just lucky, or am I ill-informed about how bad early days Louisville is? Anyway, there is a story to be had with her neighbor having a dented and bloody bumper, and I wanna hear it. I wonder if that helps explain how Grant was bitten and Lucy infected? Maybe Bloody Bumper Guy is the one who brought the sickness to this suburb. That full sink and messy stove? Girl, MOOD. Also, that's some great characterization. She tries to stay on top of things, but she's busy at work, so the occasional spill from the pan gets left for later. And hey, at least the dishes are in the sink, where they can be washed later. Seeing her curled up in the corner there - she must feel so small in the face of what she can feel looming over her neighborhood and the world at large. Good on Emily, filling up her containers with water! This is a girl who learned a thing or two from country life. Also, I love that bright red mug and kettle. Emily strikes me as the type who enjoys a good book and a cup of tea on a rainy day. I wonder if she and Jules would get along in that regard? That red radio is too cute. Ooh, Dr. Reeves! Sounds like a mentor figure! And she has reason to suspect he'd be at the hospital? Or does thinking of him merely make her realize how swamped the hospitals must be? My dumb butt is over here trying to figure out which canned goods she has. I can see the cereal and coffee, of course, but I'm not sure what the rest is. Oof, pain pills for the leg? Yeah, this is going to be a brutal recovery. I wonder who's banging around at her neighbor's house? A turned neighbor, I presume? Aww, she's got a pretty flower bed! I wonder what kind of flowers they are? Forget-me-nots? Morning glories? Pansies? Oof, Em, what the hell have you been putting your car through? Also, don't mind me pausing and examining the contents of her trunk and glovebox. There is a STORY behind her having lipstick and a razor in her glovebox - a date gone wrong that she's determined not to repeat, perhaps, or maybe an important occasion during medical school that she forgot until the last minute and wished she'd been able to look more presentable? Also, interesting that she has a map of Muldraugh. She must go there plenty, but not often enough that she has it memorized yet. I wonder why she goes there? Not for work - she works at Louisville general. So, why? If Emily ever meets the enterprising jerk who siphoned every car on the street, I hope she gets to slug him. The fact that we later meet one of those two zombies again and not the other has me on edge. Where did you go, Baseball Cap Zombie?! Also, Emily should nab that red grill in her neighbor's backyard when she inevitably heads out of the city. It'll be handy. Those must be some good pain meds Emily is on, if she slept through whatever conflagration claimed that house. I wonder if that's the home of the gasoline thief? Or the home of someone with whom the gasoline thief had beef? As we now know that that grey jeep is Grant and Lucy's car, I think the empty gas can means that neither of them are the gas thief. I assume that zombie in the green shirt is either not one of her neighbors, or else not a neighbor she knew well. These many news broadcasts are such an amazing tone-setter. You really feel how she's living through the collapse. And it is WILD to think that, somewhere out there right now, Jamie is clearing out that barn, Jules has fled the school and will soon meet Marcus (and Emily's parents), and Grover is watching the same news broadcast. I thought for sure ol' Green Shirt had her when she turned to run in the street! And instead, she wound up being our doc's first proper kill. Good job, Em! And there's that zombie from before. Just one, not both. Seriously, where did the other one go?! At least her aim is getting better. That zombie is still not the one from before! Where did that one even come from? Again, mood. I'd probably hide as well in that situation. And yeah, cards on the table, I too have a neglected treadmill. Nobody fully knows what the infection is yet, so I can only imagine the guilt Emily feels as she wonders whether the people she killed were, in fact, still people. Also, WONDERFUL use of classical music here. It really helps paint the picture of Emily's more cerebral despair. As Grover was defined by his rock riffs playing through bloody and relentless combat, Emily having a more classical soundscape set over journal entries and medical exams paints a very clear picture of who she is as a person. That one zombie, Subject 004, has really pretty hair. Aww, familiar? How well did she know Grant and Lucy? I can now imagine her having dinner with them often. Also, I wonder what Lucy's perfume is? She'd be about the same age as my own grandmother, so her perfume is the first scent that comes to mind. Grant and Lucy would want you to help yourself, hun. They seemed like decent people, and surely wouldn't mind rendering a little aid in this way. Food and books are a good start, but so is the car key! A room with a single bed? Is this Logan's room? The one with the double bed is obviously Grant and Lucy's. I wonder whose pictures those are? I imagine shots of their wedding day, and probably pictures of Logan. And the clothes on the bed - that's why Lucy was in her bathrobe. A hot shower always makes me feel better when I have a cold. I'll bet she tried that, and then simply didn't have the energy to put on the clothes she'd laid out for afterward, so Grant tried to take her to Emily for help. I still sorta wonder what she has stuck to her fridge. A page of something, and a post-it note. Maybe her work schedule, and a reminder about something? Ooh, the general, giving his famous address! And there it is - the moment the undead truly escaped. The moment the world slipped beyond retrievability. People just don't know it yet.
As always, your comments leave me impressed, concerned, and excited. XD There's plenty of questions in there that I'd love to answer, but it's usually best to leave a lot of them vague just in case the need for alteration arises down the road. The one part that you brought up that really lingered with me, was the specifics of what the photos were in Grant and Lucy's room. I had some vague ideas when I was recording, but mainly pictured rather generic portraits of the two that would have caught Emily's attention, though your thoughts and ideas got me thinking about even more varieties that could be horrendously heartbreaking. Also it helps to truly reinforce the idea that every infected she battles down or comes across had a life and a story behind them, which is something that gets glossed over more often than not in similar media. Anyway, I know I'll never satisfy your curiosity, so I'll stop attempting to, but I will thank you a hundred times over for lending your excellent talent towards bringing Emily to life. Most definitely wouldn't have ended up with the final product that I did without you, and I'm delighted to be working with you as we go forward. :)
Yo! I just got back from my eternal slumber, and I'm back! Actually, I missed a lot so I kinda lost in story. I've been busy at my job lately😅. Anyways, this new beginning is great. And a female character. Plus, it's the daughter of the Martins. Like WHAAAT?! These stories are starting to be connected with each other and the universe is growing. I can't wait to learn the story of Emily, and how it will end. Kudos to the Voice Actors. They did a great job.
Amazing start. With every season you set the bar higher and higher for yourself. As a suggestion, perhaps you should take longer breaks in between seasons to avoid burning out? Just thinking out loud, I'm sure that your viewers (me included) would be willing to wait an extra month or two. Having like 2 zombie kills for the entire episode? Simply amazing; I've seen "pacifist" runs that did more kills that you did without aiming for pacifism. Just showing a realistic frightened young woman surrounded by grave danger, scared, sobbing and trying to keep it together (kudos to the voice artist btw, amazing emotional job). Also it didn't go unnoticed how Emily took a few deep breaths and it helped her to land a precise shot. Lots of different voices on the TV and radio are so refreshing. And another refreshing thing is making basically zero "progress" as it goes in regular Zomboid playthroughs, instead showing how it would really go in a zombie apocalypse for a regular person. Unwilling to loot other people's houses, resorting to just the neighbors she knew to be dead, hiding instead of fighting, shooting instead of swinging a pan... I can't commend this work enough. And Emily has got a lot of compromises to make in the nearest future if she's willing to survive. If I were to have one small grudge, it would be the choice of "barricades damage zombies" mod. I just can't see the zombie bashing against the door for a few hours and then falling down dead. I couldn't even understand why do they keep dying by themselves, I thought maybe this implies someone's watching after Emily and disposes of the zombies when she's not looking? Only when she commented on the "self inflicted traumas" did I understand what was going on. In any case, I'm thrilled to see what's next in store for Emily. Thank you for your awesome work.
> Grant Coal (Voice): Mavwolf Damn, I could've sworn it was your own cameo! On a side note, how did Lucy end up in a closet? I thought Grant was bringing her to the bathroom. EDIT: oh wait, probably Grant shoved her in there when she suddenly turned and bit him.
I am really enjoying how Emily's start is taking shape because it feels far more realistic and believable than most. Just the fact that her home provided her a gun was an interesting addition, since I imagine most people in this situation would resort to that far sooner than beating their neighbors to death with a rolling pin. I also have to give a lot of credit to the woman bringing Emily to life, as the intro wouldn't have been nearly as effective if she hadn't put her full force behind conveying her desperation and fear. Which again is not something you see a lot of in Zomboid media since the killing usually starts near instantly. In regards to the undead killing themselves by bashing against doors, I've always enjoyed that addition since it tracks rationally in my head. It's shown that they'll throw themselves against doors, walls, barricades, cars, etc to get at their prey, and if all it takes to "dispatch" them is to damage their infected brain, then it stands a good chance that they'll damage it on their own during their mindless thrashing. For the Lucy and Grant situation, I think a lot of people are making the wrong assumption that he got bitten within Emily's home. Following what we know, it usually takes a few days for the Knox Infection to turn someone, so I was operating under the understanding that he had been bitten by his wife awhile ago and was ignoring it due to her worsening condition. Also helps explain how she ended up in the wrong room, since Grant was clearly losing his faculties throughout the brief conversation with Emily.
The moment in Jules' story where I heard there was an unspecified daughter that was in Louisville during the infection, I immediately thought "Hey, that'd be a pretty good hook for another season one of these days."
I'm pretty excited about this one, seems like it's gonna be good.
Yeah, it's been a fan favorite theory that the Martin's daughter would come back around at some point. I was rather 50/50 on it for the longest time, but now that I have a community I can lean on for voicing the protagonist, it felt like the right time to provide another interesting variety to the cast of characters.
hey buddy, haven't seen anything this month i know you are busy, just a little worried. hope you and the family are okay.
At least you wont have to see their faces when they are closing in around you
🧟♂️🧟🧟♀️🧟♂️🧟🧟♂️🧟♀️🧟🧟♂️
You'll love Build 42 - they just showed that the screen will actually blur if your character has bad eyesight and isn't wearing glasses! Neat touch!
I've been homesteading the whole week and I'm completely destroyed, I'm gonna lay down a little and enjoy this properly. You are a blessing man
"Being awoken at dawn to the traumatic sound of distant banging"... yeah, i also live in an apartment lol
That got a good chuckle out of me... I also can relate. XD
😂
I swear, it's some sort of mandate that only elephants can live on upper floors.
@thefairybug40 my brother, that is not the type of banging I was referring to
I love the incorporation of lore in your stories, it makes it feel so real. You're still the best Zomboid content creator I know of because if your storytelling. I hope Emilly makes it out of Louisville before it truly gets bad
I second this. This is why I bought the game.
Great story. Got a dad joke chuckle of the inadvertent use of "unarmed" when the radio guy was describing a one armed zombie 😂👍🏻
Oh wow, a story starting right in Louisville. This could end early or end up being one of the most intense seasons so far.
We'll just have to see where the game takes her...
love how you're really pushing yourself & the boundaries of possibilities to use this game to tell stories. absolutely brilliant!
All thanks to you🎉🎉
When I heard Nocturn start to play I said to myself " Nice touch.". Glad to see another season off to a great start.
Finally all that spying has paid off. :P
Holy shite! Only two minutes in and everyone's voice acting is incredible! I'm so happy I had the opportunity to be a part of this project!
Oh i really enjoy the idea of a character attempting to do research on the virus.
We'll definitely be diving into that area as long as she lives long enough. :P
This is peak content. Filled with live and effort, beautifully made with excellent story telling.
I simply hope to keep you all entertained and engaged, and every video that manages to achieve that is a small victory in my book. :)
I really respect how you play the character here and not game knowledge, especially firing the gun etc
except that a medical professional would not have some of these corpse/ people dieing issues. it wouldnt be new to them.
I can't wait for the next episode. This may shape up to take over Jamie's spot for favorite season...we'll see! 😊
I'll cross my fingers and try my best, but I think it's going to be a challenge to outshine some of the earlier seasons. :P
Been looking forward to this since you announced the concept but god damn, whoever you got doing the PC voice is absolutely killing it, props to her.
Yeah, the voice actress certainly deserves just as much credit as myself in regards to bringing Emily to life. Couldn't have asked for a better person to work with for this season.
I gotta say the Quality and the Voice acting is Amazing this season i cant wait to see where this goes
I'm genuinely thrilled to be working with Emily's voice actress. She's been blowing me away at every step, and I can only imagine how the character will develop with her being the fuel source.
The voice acting was top notch 👌
It truly is. Can't express my gratitude enough to everyone who contributed, especially the actress who portrayed Emily.
Really exciting start, looking forward to this one! The multicomplexity of a doctor in the apocalypse against zombies is going to be interesting to watch. Good luck Emily!
There's definitely plenty of meat to dive into with this character. Just have to make sure she lives long enough to explore those juicy concepts.
XD
I've been serviceable in the past seasons, but the actress behind Emily is truly inspiring to work with. Truly looking forward to seeing how Emily develops with her.
No way a female character
Hopefully she dies. I’m tired of seeing them survive😭.
where's the deep gruff voice for the lead?
Love this female character! A very straight laced uptight young resident doctor. Sorta like Harleen Quinzeel, the bright psychiatrist, BEFORE the Joker transformed her into a homicidal maniac. Cannot wait to see how this "rattled, scared young woman" transforms from Emily the scared to Emily the Zomboid Killer! Great video!
Emily Martin will have to give up her Hippocratic oath to survive. I’m really interested in how her story unfolds.
That's definitely something she'll have to grapple with at some point, along with all the usual horrors that come with a world such as this.
Its so good to see this channel growing
Slowly but surely. Still crazy to come to grips with the fact that people actually enjoy my work. :P
Just finished bingeing the last 3 seasons. So excited to follow along with this one! :D Glad I found your channel and keep up the amazing work!
I love your videos. Every lunch break I watch your vids, better than Netflix. Keep up the great work!❤
Well I'm happy to keep making them as long as you all keep enjoying them! :)
All I can do is hope that the wait is worth it, and continue to try and bring you all the stories you like to see.
Best recommendation from UA-cam, yet! Great videos.
God bless the broken algorithm that lead us straight to TW.
I do really enjoy seeing people calling out the voice actors, since their contribution can't be overstated enough. :)
Oh my Lord, I can't wait to see more of Emily! now on Louisville!
I loves this intro, with voice acting, and other characters! The production quality just keeps going up and up with these stories!
Woah!! This blew me away honestly, the voice acting is wonderful. Super excited to see Emily's story unfold!
The voice actress really killed it, and I can't wait to see her continue to nail it as we get further with Emily.
Absolutely incredible introduction, I can't wait for the rest of what is in store for this season!
What a treat. Just after binge watching the others I finally get to follow a series in progress
I'll try my best not to keep you waiting too long between episodes. :P
This is gonna be a wild series. I can feel it in my bones!
Well now I have no choice but to live up to that. :P
Great work!
A new season is starting already! Yes!
Great job with the voice acting everyone. 👍
I do try to keep you all entertained as often as possible. :P
This is such a high quality intro. I'm beyond impressed.
Always gotta tip my hat to all the other people involved. It's been awesome to grow a community to the point where so many others are willing to contribute their voices, and I'm always incredibly grateful to them.
I think I liked Grover's intro better, but DAMN if this one wasn't just [chef's kiss].
Just finished the episode and holy cow this is freaking amazing! I'm more pumped up than ever to see where the doctor takes us!
Let's just hope that excitement doesn't end with an early demise. She's still very much in her early days. :P
YESS NEW CHARACTER AND NEW STORY!!!
Loving the increase in quality, some of the best PZ content out there!
I do try to fix whatever problems I see, though my changes aren't always improvements. :P
More Days Gone music, nice. Really fits the terrifying atmosphere of Zomboid
This reminds me of many of my runs. I love the RP aspect of PZ and so when I can RP the beginning, I love it. I typically RP in British Columbia though.
Slocan Lake ftw
Ooh Im excited to see how this goes!
Every series gets better and better. I can't wait for the next episode!
Eventually I have to plateau. :P
Another great series ahead!
Good Lord... Sometimes you people really leave me speechless. I really do appreciate your support, and can only hope my work lives up to everyone's expectations.
@twowheeledgaming I'm happy to support your work, man! It's not much but I hope it helps.
❤👍 Excellent start! Nice touch. Moonlight Sonata, as well.
i really do hope to see a series of emergency broadcasts on the tv as we go deeper down the story. and who knows, maybe even a final government collapse announcement with the national anthem. that would make this 100 more eerie than it already is.
I’m so excited to see a female character! I was gonna suggest it on your last video but I didn’t want to pressure you! Amazing work as always
People have been hungry for a female protagonist for quite some time, just had to figure out all the logistics and feel confident enough to finally take the plunge.
Wow, with every season you push your work to another level of incredibility. Absolutely breath taking opening and i really want more. ❤
I can't wait to see what the next season will be like! I also don't want this one to end because I'm having too much fun. It's a serious problem.
I just discovered you, and blasted through your content. It is amazing! Keep up the good vids!
Happy to welcome you aboard, and will try my best to continue to keep you entertained. :)
Can't wait to see where this series goes! Been here since the first season, can't wait for this new one to play out👍
It's definitely been a wild ride since this series began, and hopefully this season continues to add to the strange canvas we have going on.
Looking forward to another awesome season.
I'll certainly try my best to give you one. :)
Oh yeah, new character and she's a woman! Love it! Long may she live, and maybe even solve a mystery or two about the infection along the way.
She'll certainly make it as far as I can take her, and I'm hoping to delve into some of the mystery surrounding the Knox Event if we can...
Im pretty damn excited for the movie of this one. I keep rewatching Grover, i can quote it now lol!
You know, I haven't watched Grover all the way through since it ended. I should watch his season again!
i am happy to see this new season
Love the series ! Keep up the good work
Most certainly will! Glad you're enjoying them. :)
Holy heck this was awesome!
I'm glad to finally see a female survivor and she's a doctor too so we get to see the more logical medical field mind in action of the apocalypse/outbreak
Also loving we get to see even for a brief of neighbors helping another out even if it was the first findings of the infection
And seeing Emily's turmoil with it and noting down the first infecteds in her journal
Can't wait for the next episode to see how it'll continue
There really are a ton of neat things to play around with and explore this season, just have to hope I keep our girl alive long enough to see them through. :P
i hope the indie stone sees these and adds the reminants of the details of these stories to their own in game found survivror stories to the base game if they complied logically.
Oh my god, I would literally break out champagne if that happened. I really hope they do. To me, this IS the story of the Knox infection. Whenever I see someone at one of the featured locations, I can't help but think, "Hey, that's Jamie's house!" or "Look, it's Little Hope!"
Im so hyped for this
Wow! What a start!
Another Saturday you saved for me. Thanks so much man
Always happy to provide. :)
Emily's story is certainly going to be an interesting one, and if all the stars align, it's not impossible to have Jules come back into the picture...
yay new series
Let's goooooooooo!!!! This is what we've been waiting for, this is what we've voted for!!!
Love the enthusiasm. XD
A little late but I'm so excited to see the next season! Was finding it hard to get into season 3 but this one has me completely invested already!
Each season is gonna be a bit different for everyone, and that's mostly by design, but I am glad you're vibing with Emily's journey so far. While we've spent very little time with her, I'm also loving how her story is shaping up, and I'm very much looking forward to seeing where she ultimately goes.
Survivor 1 : Begin with a letter opener not knowing what to do
Survivor 2 : Begin by starving alone in a the middle of the forest
Survivor 3 : Begin by barricade is apartment and don't want to go outside
Survivor 4 : So anyway i started BLASTING !
I think of this comment every time I see Emily use a gun. It lives rent-free in my head.
Well I might be a little late for the commenting gotta say I can already tell this is going to be a very good series
I also am a little late on commenting, but I can only hope this is going to be a good one. :P
Bro keep up the insane work bro amazing!
I'll most certainly try my best! :)
Season 4 lets gooooooooo!
Hell yeah I was hoping we wouldn't have to wait too long for the next series. Seriously bro nobody makes videos like you in PZ

Really am glad that there are so many of you who enjoy the series, it's a treat to make it for you. :)
Well done
YEEEESSS. WAS WAITING FOR THIS!
(I'm still deeply curious how he got bitten.)
How did Lucy end up in that closet?
XD
There's plenty of questions in there that I'd love to answer, but it's usually best to leave a lot of them vague just in case the need for alteration arises down the road.
@@twowheeledgaming Look, you knew I was crazy when you reached out to me. You deserve what you get, at this point.
Babe wake up, Two wheeled Gaming posted another PZ video
I truly hope that never actually happens, but the sentiment is appreciated. XD
@@twowheeledgaming It doesn’t haha, I’m single :( xD
Great start to the new series! Feel's good to go in blind for once lol
Just wait till I rope you into playing a main character again. :P
They did a great job.
one of these days imma need to see the perspective of an Army soldier for one of these series lol
I'm sure it'll happen eventually. Keep trying to focus on different personalities with each season, just takes time to get through em. :P
Holy shit bro, amazing
> Grant Coal (Voice): Mavwolf
Damn, I could've sworn it was your own cameo!
@@twowheeledgaming Could she bite him while still being alive though? And would he shrug it off as insignificant if it did happen?
Hello, happy Saturday. Thanks for the entertainment
