@@juicekingsley Grover is the only outlier amongst the four seasons, but I'm still split on whether or not his continuity is the same as the others. If people needed an explanation for the differences in the zombie behavior, I think it's fair enough to say that it could have mutated when spreading to different regions, or something similar. Right now I'm leaving it vague in case I want to decide one way or the other down the road, which is what I do a lot throughout this series. (Jules and Jamie weren't always planned to be connected, for example.)
@@twowheeledgaming As someone who runs a very sociopolitical DnD campaign, I fully relate to the approach of trying to leave things open and loose so it's harder to have inconsistencies/ contradictions build up, and especially the pressure to tie things together unnecessarily. Really enjoying your focus and concern with roleplay and world building elements even within the constraints of PZ, I think your brand of storytelling is pretty unique in the gaming sphere and I covet your uploads way more hungrily than I do most youtubers lol. Keep up the good work!
I'm sure there's a limit to the compliments this series deserves, but there is no such limit for Fairybug and her commitment to voicing Emily. Don't know how the hell I ended up with someone so perfect for the role. XD
I'm loving this whole serious so much! Obviously, I want to firstly congratulate you on the masterpieces you have been delivering to us. I am a loyal subscriber, you're gonna have to mess up real bad for that to change. But on a second note, may I just congratulate the lady you had doing the voice acting. She conveys the correct emotions through her dialogue and it just brings it all together so well. Bravo to all involved!
Well we haven't seen the true fallout of the helicopter yet. She did only hear one getting close to her house before she barricaded the door and tucked herself into her room. I imagine that isn't the worst of what's to come.

Oooh, new episode! And it talks about the most A*hole part of the game, the Helicopter. I love the duality of Emily in this episode: her being courageous enough to face some zombies head-on and navigate herself to the police station then still she retreats upon realization that if she proceeds she will only put herself in danger. Emily in this episode shows us that: yes, she's strong and independent and that she can do things in order to survive, but also she's just a human being, that means she can be scared and weak sometimes, to the point where she just lock herself inside her house after the helicopter event. I can't wait to see how her character will develop as her story goes on. Anyways, Emily's VA is very good especially during the helicopter scene and the last diary entry monologue.
More than any of the previous survivors, I'm trying to pay special attention to each situation Emily is confronted with and measuring how someone in her situation would realistically react. While practically every other survivor we've met so far wouldn't run from two zeds at the police station, it's interesting to actually place yourself in that scenario and ask if you'd put yourself through the ordeal for an unknown reward. I think a fair few people would argue that there's guns, ammo, useful gear, etc inside the station, but Emily isn't in that mode quite yet. She's not sniffing around for stuff to add to her hoard or picturing confronting a large swath of the infected, she's just trying to get some answers and keep herself alive in the moment. Hopefully her fear doesn't drive too many veteran gamers crazy, but this series has never been about mowing down as many zombies as you possibly can. :P
@@twowheeledgaming now that you mentioned it, Emily's beginning story is quite different than the past characters where they face some group of zombies heads on. The flow of Emily's story is quite similar to what may happen in real life: that includes the emotion of fear, anxiety, everything that a person would feel in an extreme situation. Anyway, if the veteran players complain, let them be, they're watching content led by a character's story, it's not like your posting a video of a playthrough or a speedgame, just let your content drive them even crazier🤣. Kidding aside, I bet your content is entertaining enough for them to complain.
I was literally looking at your channel this morning wondering when the next chapter was dropping. The sudden shift from "Im saved!" To "They're going to shoot me down like the rest of the infected, nopenopenopeNOOOOOPE" Curious to see if she'll go to the hospital those patients were being sent to first, or make a run for her parents and figure out her next moves from there. I am torn between wanting moar now and knowing that you're doing it at a pace that'll tell the story right. Keep up the amazing work man, looking forward to episode 4!
Trying to balance out the pacing myself, and it's easier said than done. :P I know how much you all enjoy the videos, but sadly my body has limits from time to time. XD As Emily noted in one of her earlier journals, she's basically assumed her parents have been dead or are going to die if Louisville is in the state that it's in. At this point in the timeline, the rest of Knox County has been dealing with this for over a week, and the chances of her parents being immune and then surviving are too little for Emily to bet on. The hospital on the other hand has been her second home for the most recent period of her life and more and more questions are piling up as to what is going on there, so I imagine that there's no reality in which she DOESN'T attempt to get there and learn more, but she's not exactly in a state to do anything that daring.
TWG, Your work has inspired me. I've watched your "What You're Missing" video probably about 10 times now. That, coupled with Jules, Gills and now Em's stories, it's just too much boundless creativity to not spring into action. I'm no content creator, but you have made me see and play PZ in a different light. The way it feels like it's meant to be played. I min-maxed, I perfected the Fire Station assault, the fenced neighborhood at Riverside, the 3 rich mansions. I've done it all, except survive a winter and see 1994. You've inspired me to do that, with THIS approach. No more exploits, no more farming, no more optimal play. It's time to learn who my characters are, who they were, and who they'll become. TWG, from the bottom of my heart, thank you, so much. So much.
That really has been the focus of this season, and something the series has gotten better about with each survivor. It's crazy to compare the believability of Jamie to Emily now, but there were a ton of things I hadn't even thought to consider when his story was recorded.

Hot damn, that was a good episode! I'm thrilled to see what comes next, especially in the voice acting department, seeing as how having this helicopter flying around leaves room for flight logs and radio transmissions.
I have finally bit the bullet and installed the expanded helicopter events, so who knows... Maybe she comes across a crash in the future and can learn far more than any of our other survivors... But that is up to the mercy of the game.

Well I'm honored that you spend what time you have watching my videos! I always wish to keep you all captivated, but when competing against the responsibilities of real life, I *hope* that I lose. :P
It's always a highlight of the day to see the next episode air. I wonder how these events will shift Emily's perspective and priorities? And how the leg will continue to affect those? And, from a Project Zomboid meta level... how the power and water situations are going to shake things up?
Especially with the early days of these survivors it's interesting to see how their personality adapts to the constantly shifting situation. Also, since the audience doesn't get a grand view into who these people were before, it's a bit of a game to figure out what has developed because of the outbreak, and what was already there from the start.

That makes me wonder. Emily Openly says she won't get a knight in shining armor, but perhaps I'm not too sure of that anymore now that I think about the fact that Jules is alive. Excellent video!
Well, they can't meet until at least New Year's of '94, because we already know Jules didn't meet her during his season, but I would so much love it if they do meet after that! But she's got to survive six months to even reach the point where it's possible -- not impossible, but it'll sure take some doing. And how wonderful would it be to see her visit her family home, to get to visit her parents' graves? Only Jules knows where they are. Of course, it's possible she'll go there and see the graves without ever meeting him, but time will tell.
Been really enjoying her struggle to survive and separate the zombies from the people they used to be. Her inability to do melee so far has been interesting.
That's an aspect of this season that I've really been enjoying honestly. Since I knew she was going to have a broken leg, I implemented a rule where she couldn't stomp on the infected like all the other survivors have. Then when I spawned without a melee weapon nearby, it made me really understand how imposing a single zombie could be to someone who's unprepared. So now, when she does have a very crude weapon to deal with them (apart from her gun), it's cool to highlight how stressful that would be for the average person. You don't go from dicing onions to driving a screwdriver into someone's skull without a bit of yourself being stripped away.

Hey man! I have like a mod request, I don't expect a yes at all, it's just like a mini question but could you consider trying the mod "The only cure" once on a character? It might be a part of the character that he/she was an amputee before the apocalypse for example, or you could use this mod to save a character from dying if they get bit on their arms. (btw that's what the mod does) and I know it might mess a little with Jamie's story because he got bitten in his hand, but we can just say that most people (meaning the characters we have so far) didn't know that you could cut off your limb to survive the bite infection. If not this, then It would be really cool to see an amputee character, like you can just have the mod enabled but just not use it to survive like bites, but instead just use it so that your character can be an amputee. Would be cool to see but this is only a suggestion, love your content!
Having it as an option would be great, though I think we're in agreement that using it would be less than ideal. Way better than dying to a single bit, of course, but still

Pretty sure he mentions this in the commentary he just did on Jamie's full run, but Jules was the most difficult start he's ever had with a character, as he said rewatching Jamie hit milestones like having a working car made him realize that Jules was a struggle at every point of the run early on. In comparison, Grover being able to mow down infected with guns was probably a fun time, after barely scraping by with Jules.
Oof I'm Nine hours late I love this episode yes! Oh boy first helicopter event, Emily definitely has a different reaction than Jamie did and I love the slight sense of insanity of her slipping into, feels very fitting Just wait till she talks to either a plush or a gnome like Jamie and Jules then she'll fit right in 😂 I loved the changing clothes to wash old ones, I usually see the outfits change in PZ when the old ones are destroyed and ofc for more protection Can't wait for the next episode
Your comment just made me realize that Jamie is the only other survivor to interact with the helicopter, and how interesting it would have been to see Jules or Grover have their take on it. I've always disliked looking over Jules' footage and seeing him wear the same stuff for FAR too long, so I've been trying to be mindful of how long Emily has been wearing certain outfits and actually treating her like a human being who wants to wear different clothes from time to time. :P
@@twowheeledgaming I can already imagine Jules would get that old hope thing before the Country Club fell and for Grover he would definitely immediately waisting bullets on it while cussing it out 😂 I love that concept of having her be more human with changing clothes more often, it's a nice touch and I don't see it often in Project Zomboid story base it's great!

I'd also recommend that everyone, whenever they plan to rewatch one of the seasons, use the episodic playlist instead of the movie. It gets him more views, that way, and you can like and comment on each if you want!
While somewhat unlikely with where we stand now, it's not IMPOSSIBLE for the two to meet down the road, it'll just have to be a rather long road to get there.
She's got to survive long enough, first -- probably some time in January of '94 at the earliest. A lot can happen between now and then. But I too would love to see them meet!
I don't "write" anything before going into a season or recording session. Besides Emily being the Martin's daughter, everything is just what the game provides and what I come up with to piece it all together.

My husband overheard this and immediately made a joke about 'the time-being', asking what Emily had done for the elusive being of time. Oof, poor Grant and Lucy. Poor Emily! I hope she can give them a proper burial, but with her leg and lack of shovel? It's probably not an option for the foreseeable future. But at least our girl is clean! A new weapon, some wine, fresh food! A good day in Knox County. But hang on - did Emily fill that pot by the fridge with water, or did the previous inhabitant? Was there a survivor nearby? Is there STILL a survivor nearby? Oh. . . a LOT of wine. Oh dear. Ammo! Either this poor survivor got taken out quickly, or somebody still lives here. Uh-oh, that house is WIDE open. Oh, they left their TV on, that's why. I kinda wish Emily had paused to listen! Not because it would magically have anything new to say, but because who knows when she'll next hear the voice of another person? Even if the man in that broadcast is dead, he's a person, and he so much wanted his words to be heard. Those two zombies look like they could've been siblings. One being locked upstairs, and the other wandering the yard, tells a story. These poor folks were prepared! Emily really got her money's worth out of this one! I like her new gloves! EMILY. Go to SLEEP! Silly woman! Good grief! These neighbors were really well-stocked too! Emily must be so glad to have all this, but so sad about why it's unused and unmissed. Oh dear. How distracted is she if she's tromping through her own flower bed? Uh-oh. Either that zombie in the hospital gown has me concerned. I hope Dr. Reeves is okay. Of course, this is Zomboid, and this is Louisville. But still, I hope. The shoes. That seems ritualistic to her. I'm glad she's still able to see the tragedy, the lost humanity of the dead. Ooh, new outfit! Teal tanktops always remind me of Lara Croft - I approve! Poor Emily. She must be so frustrated. Even if she'd known what was coming for her, the leg still would've left her trapped in her home. She must feel like the walls are closing in on her. How long will home be home? How long can it remain a sanctuary? That zombie was NOT there the last time she got a good look at that yard! That was a survivor until very, very recently. Poor man. He was so close to another living human. Ah, she got to listen to the broadcast again after all. A voice is a voice, no matter how repetitive. I can't help but wonder what sorts of things might be in that big blue mailbox. What were the last words that people desperately tried to send to their loved ones before the world collapsed? Hang on, did Emily kill all of those? I don't think Emily killed ALL of those. Oh my, that's a lot of them. CHEESE IT! No, that is the opposite of cheesing it! An axe! Wonderful! Useful for so many things. Chopping wood, breaching doors, dropping chompers - everything! I'm more of a crowbar gal, myself, but I sure wouldn't turn my nose up at an axe! And how dare you make me feel feelings about fond memories of Greg! A leash! I demand to know what happened to the dog that used to live here! Look at all those hiking bags! SCORE! I think Anne had one, too, didn't she? That should help Emily carry more stuff. Ooh, the police station! Check it out, Emily! Besides written records, they have weapons, cars, maybe even armor! That parking lot is way emptier than I thought it'd be. And ooh - food market! SCORE! She can pick up some nonperishables before heading home, if it's safe. Well, at least the untouched state means she can go back later to get supplies. LEAVE THE FLOWERS ALONE, YOU MONSTER! Oh dear. Admitting defeat is not easy for someone with Emily's personality. This is not going to be an easy pill to swallow. Oh, nevermind. Most pills go down easy when chased with booze. Seriously, that is a not-great idea in her situation. However, I cannot really fault her, either. She's essentially trapped, helpless, and in a good deal of pain. I'd drink, too. Oh no. Oh nonononono. Emily, don't go out there! Oh, thank god, it didn't see her! Um, why is everything orangey? Did it drop some gas? Is there a big fire? Is it just sunset right now? Oh dear. Yes, she's right. The undead will follow it as much as the crow flies as they can. They'll be walking straight toward her. You know what, forget what I said before - she doesn't have ENOUGH wine to deal with this. Hang on, I recognize this soundtrack! I love this game! Wait a sec. Those footsteps. They sound too. . . deliberate. Are we sure that's a zombie? Poor Emily. She's not the first of the survivors that I've wished I could hug.

Her build is in the community tab. She, like Jules and Grover, was the result of a poll to decide what the build should be. She narrowly defeated a student athlete!
Sometimes you've just gotta check in on certain creators. I once missed a video by one of my favorite animatic creators by a month because she just didn't show up in my feed.
Sounds like UA-cam being UA-cam. Especially when your uploads become sporadic, UA-cam begins to push your content less and less, even to those subscribed to you. They're much more interested in pushing content you've recently interacted with, to the point that having notifications on and the like mean very little. XD
I'd probably be the fool running after the helicopter and trying to sinalize to it with a mirrow or a flashlight hoping for rescue and end up dead in the first week in the apocalipse :')

Its crazy comparing season 1 to now
It's been quite the journey...
Here in the near future I'll be taking a look back at Season One, and my god I'm not prepared for the cringe. :P
Hot damn, that was a good episode! I'm thrilled to see what comes next, especially in the voice acting department, seeing as how having this helicopter flying around leaves room for flight logs and radio transmissions.
I have finally bit the bullet and installed the expanded helicopter events, so who knows... Maybe she comes across a crash in the future and can learn far more than any of our other survivors... But that is up to the mercy of the game.
Been a while since I clicked on a video this fast, time to sit at a park and chill.

It's always a highlight of the day to see the next episode air. I wonder how these events will shift Emily's perspective and priorities? And how the leg will continue to affect those? And, from a Project Zomboid meta level... how the power and water situations are going to shake things up?
Especially with the early days of these survivors it's interesting to see how their personality adapts to the constantly shifting situation. Also, since the audience doesn't get a grand view into who these people were before, it's a bit of a game to figure out what has developed because of the outbreak, and what was already there from the start.

That makes me wonder. Emily Openly says she won't get a knight in shining armor, but perhaps I'm not too sure of that anymore now that I think about the fact that Jules is alive. Excellent video!
Well, they can't meet until at least New Year's of '94, because we already know Jules didn't meet her during his season, but I would so much love it if they do meet after that! But she's got to survive six months to even reach the point where it's possible -- not impossible, but it'll sure take some doing. And how wonderful would it be to see her visit her family home, to get to visit her parents' graves? Only Jules knows where they are. Of course, it's possible she'll go there and see the graves without ever meeting him, but time will tell.

Been really enjoying her struggle to survive and separate the zombies from the people they used to be. Her inability to do melee so far has been interesting.
That's an aspect of this season that I've really been enjoying honestly. Since I knew she was going to have a broken leg, I implemented a rule where she couldn't stomp on the infected like all the other survivors have. Then when I spawned without a melee weapon nearby, it made me really understand how imposing a single zombie could be to someone who's unprepared.
So now, when she does have a very crude weapon to deal with them (apart from her gun), it's cool to highlight how stressful that would be for the average person. You don't go from dicing onions to driving a screwdriver into someone's skull without a bit of yourself being stripped away.
I'm loving this series so much, well done! Keep up the good work, mate!

Hey man! I have like a mod request, I don't expect a yes at all, it's just like a mini question but could you consider trying the mod "The only cure" once on a character? It might be a part of the character that he/she was an amputee before the apocalypse for example, or you could use this mod to save a character from dying if they get bit on their arms. (btw that's what the mod does) and I know it might mess a little with Jamie's story because he got bitten in his hand, but we can just say that most people (meaning the characters we have so far) didn't know that you could cut off your limb to survive the bite infection. If not this, then It would be really cool to see an amputee character, like you can just have the mod enabled but just not use it to survive like bites, but instead just use it so that your character can be an amputee. Would be cool to see but this is only a suggestion, love your content!
Having it as an option would be great, though I think we're in agreement that using it would be less than ideal. Way better than dying to a single bit, of course, but still

I got a question out of Jamie, Jules, and Grover. Who was the most fun to play and which one was the most difficult to play?

Pretty sure he mentions this in the commentary he just did on Jamie's full run, but Jules was the most difficult start he's ever had with a character, as he said rewatching Jamie hit milestones like having a working car made him realize that Jules was a struggle at every point of the run early on.
In comparison, Grover being able to mow down infected with guns was probably a fun time, after barely scraping by with Jules.

Oh boy first helicopter event, Emily definitely has a different reaction than Jamie did and I love the slight sense of insanity of her slipping into, feels very fitting

I loved the changing clothes to wash old ones, I usually see the outfits change in PZ when the old ones are destroyed and ofc for more protection

Your comment just made me realize that Jamie is the only other survivor to interact with the helicopter, and how interesting it would have been to see Jules or Grover have their take on it.
I've always disliked looking over Jules' footage and seeing him wear the same stuff for FAR too long, so I've been trying to be mindful of how long Emily has been wearing certain outfits and actually treating her like a human being who wants to wear different clothes from time to time. :P

I love that concept of having her be more human with changing clothes more often, it's a nice touch and I don't see it often in Project Zomboid story base it's great!

@@morningstar9233 Same! These videos deserve far more attention, and the creator far more love for them, than they've been getting. Every little bit helps! I'd also recommend that everyone, whenever they plan to rewatch one of the seasons, use the episodic playlist instead of the movie. It gets him more views, that way, and you can like and comment on each if you want!

While somewhat unlikely with where we stand now, it's not IMPOSSIBLE for the two to meet down the road, it'll just have to be a rather long road to get there.
She's got to survive long enough, first -- probably some time in January of '94 at the earliest. A lot can happen between now and then. But I too would love to see them meet!

Her build is in the community tab. She, like Jules and Grover, was the result of a poll to decide what the build should be. She narrowly defeated a student athlete!

To be fair, I did go a month without posting so there was a gap, but we're back on the grind now.

Sounds like UA-cam being UA-cam. Especially when your uploads become sporadic, UA-cam begins to push your content less and less, even to those subscribed to you. They're much more interested in pushing content you've recently interacted with, to the point that having notifications on and the like mean very little. XD
I'd probably be the fool running after the helicopter and trying to sinalize to it with a mirrow or a flashlight hoping for rescue and end up dead in the first week in the apocalipse :')
