Ignore what the guy above said. The organ, especially with foot pedals, is an INCREDIBLY difficult instrument to learn, let alpne master like what you see in the video. The guy has probably never touched anything other than a keyboard in their life.
Ending of the fugue from Bach's BWV532 Prelude and Fugue in D Major -- and, yes, it never does get old . I don't play the organ myself, but I did key the fugue into a MIDI editor and let the sequencer play it :)
Some years back I heard this at a recital in Leeds Town Hall played by one of the most known and well respected of UK organists. He finished, got off the bench, approached the microphone and announced that he wasn't happy with the final run on the pedals and he would like to play it again. Back to the organ....and he played this final piece again. To my ears it was just as fabulous as the first time. Anyone who can play hands and feet together like this is just amazing. 😊
@@SirReginaldBlomfield1234 my mom is an organist and raised me to realistically respect music...and let me tell you, organ playing is hard, period. like objectively speaking, it's way harder than the vast majority of instruments in the world, and I say this as a cello player myself, probably one of the more difficult instruments itself. "nothing of any difficulty" is an asinine take and just plain wrong.
I am a professional organ player and I would not say, that church organ is harder than other instruments - but the difficult is on another kind as to coordinate hand and feet. But most people can get used to it by practicing... To me, I have the highest respect for all string players, who can influence the pitch in so small micro intervals, and who can create a sound of swelling, going back, and create so many tones on just four strings... that seems really impressing to me 😮
I have mild experience on pipe organ but primarily utilize analog electric. From my experience from my pipe organ playing. Having to play music to delayed sound was one of the most difficult challenges I've encountered aside from having to rearrange sheet music to your main organ. I don't get how someone can play an instrument yet everything they hear is some odd milliseconds after what their fingers are playing. It's like you have to learn to play deaf from my experience. Also learning to add your feet isn't that big of a deal once you're proficient at keyboard. You already know how to do bimanual playing so you just transfer the skill to bipedal playing.
Absolutely amazing. Don't play but wish I did. Talk about putting whole self into it this guy literally does; incomprehensible eye hand coordination to say the least. Love pipe organ.✝️❤️
Une belle énergie, certes, alliée à une technique efficace, mais les claviers électriques et les pédaliers radiaux (radials ??) ne doivent pas faire oublier le phrasé et les tempi en phase avec le style de l'époque.
Being a former organist myself I'm ashamed to confess I never learned to play this 😑. But on the other hand Bach composed so much great and beautiful music for organ that there is no problem to find enough for a lifetime... A fantastic combination of great music with wonderful harmonies and an exeptionell organplayer!
🇮🇹👍 Mi complimento veramente con l'organista, per l'ottima qualità dell'esecuzione, rispetto ad un brano obbiettivamente complesso come questo, mettendo in risalto altresì il virtuosismo alla pedaliera.
Fugue in D major? I love this one. Bach must have just seen his first born son or something when he wrote this! Thanks for sharing! Marvelous! Ages ago when I played piano, I could have played both the pedals and the keyboards, just not together. 😂 For me that was like trying to thread a needle behind my back in the dark. How'd I ever learn to drive a stick shift? Well ... similar except I never poked my fingers with an organ. Yeah, I usually poke at least one hole in my fingers threading a needle. 😊 Me and sharp objects. 😏 Oh, shit! I just read the owner's name. Felix Hell! No wonder it sounds so damn good! A German organist!
As a pianist, organ players are fucking crazy. You're telling me that *one* keyboard isn't enough for you? You need three? And you want to play a *fourth* with your *feet?* Absolutely batshit. It's wonderful.
When I hear masterful playing of entrancing, rich music such as this, my heart quakes in awe and my mind is swept away. I simply fall in love with the performance.

Fantastic and precise! And so happy to see even tennis shoes instead of STOCKING FEET. Why is it such a massive trend these days for organists to play in socks or barefoot? That nonsense is not allowed in our loft. LOL
Pianist: It take much dexterity and practice too achieve a perfect coordination of 10 fingers. But it allow the most complex music to be played. Organist: 10.. is not.... ENOUGH !

wow surprised you were sneakers while you play and don't hit the wrong petal. Bare feet or socks would be better if you don't have organ shoes. Nice music though.
Who could have thought that UA-cam Shorts would force organists to play that fast to finish their pieces ?
😂
😇
That's about the right tempo.

I cannot think of any better way than to use the pedal solo of Johann Sebastian Bach to finish off what he's playing!! Absolutely wonderful!!!
Thank you 🙏
Hi Felix @@felixhell.organist what's the name of that piece?
Great. Moving 10 fingers and 2 feet so quickly and independently...masterful. Bach's music ❤ is also brilliant, of course.
