August 18, 2022 - a wedding ceremony was taking place on the shore of Two Medicine Lake in Glacier National Park, when most of the way through the groom's vows, a grizzly charged out of the brush onto the north shore and attacked a moose calf as the mother looked on. We had spotted the moose and calf 10 minutes before moving briskly through the forest further up the mountain - the bear must have been chasing them for at least a little bit.

Groom here. This was such a wild and incredible experience that even now we are in awe. We chose to elope in the heart of nature at Glacier and knew what we were getting into. Always respect nature and wildlife. We’re thankful everyone is safe, and Stanton was able to capture this or no one would ever believe us!
Nothing like saying your nuptials, committing your lives to each other to the groans of a grizzly tearing apart an animal piece by piece.
Well, it definitely made fir a memorable wedding. I think your experience will be difficult to top when it comes to wedding stories.

@@roberts663 Maybe 20 minutes later we saw a lone hiker walking on a trail only about 75-100 yards above the kill site!
Also easy to miss, at 0:12 - 0:13 on the right side of the frames you can see the mother moose swimming away.

I've seen several cougar attacks at wedding receptions but this is a first.
Cougars have the ability to leap 18 feet vertically and 30 feet horizontally.

It's call survival.
Cows and bulls can try to outrun an attack from a predator, bulls however have antlers that could be used in defense. I am not sure if they're known to use them outside of mating season related activities/territorial behaviors.
It's a sad thing for sure but it's the circle of life. That bear with not be the only one benefiting from that kill.
Pretty natural occurrence in nature. It’s brutal out there. Always consider that when criticizing modern society. Its a luxury in this world that we consider a mother abandoning their offspring a rare or tragic event.
Now the question is how do you incorporate a moose being eaten by a bear in a wedding video 😂

This has been going on long before humans and their emotions came about and it will continue in one form or another after we are gone.
