  • Haj pilgrims on Thursday spent the day on Saudi Arabia's Mount Arafat, where the Prophet Mohammad gave his last sermon, raising hands in prayer to atone for their sins, their lips moving behind mandated face masks.
    On a haj like no other, pilgrims were overcome with emotion as they adhered to social distancing measures while gathering on Mount Mercy on the plains of Arafat for the most important ritual of the pilgrimage.
    With the coronavirus pandemic making large gatherings impossible, only a few thousand pilgrims - Saudis and foreign residents - were permitted to take part in this years' haj, a once-in-a-lifetime duty for every able-bodied Muslim who can afford it.

    Ahh, I remember going to Mt Arafat two years ago when I was 13. It was fun going up and down the mountain, and a very lifting experience my whole trip there. Although, now, I felt I was too young, and took it for granted. Never take any blessing in life for granted

    Anyone know the origins of what looks like a limestone covered obelisk at 3:16 ? Was it always there ? I'm just curious now because they seem to be everywhere, even in my hometown. I noticed the Ethiopians have them too but the top is round, not a pyramid. There is a huge one in the Vatican and also in Washington DC and Freemasons who are leading Protestant religions have them too. . literally they are everywhere even in China, Europe and Asia. Anyone know why everyone keeps them? I saw many Iranians want to destroy them.

      It is a phallic symbol that stems from ancient Egyptian sun God worship. The obelisk you refer to used to be a symbol of Satan that Muslims are obligated to stoned 7 times each, known as the stoning of the Jamarat. The obelisk that muslims were supposed to be stoning was replaced with a simple wall and the same obelisk now is seated on top of a holy mountain, Arafat. They also built a huge clock tower that dwarfs the Kaaba in Mecca that kind of resembles an Obelisk.

      Huh? What’s wrong with covering a religious holiday? What happens during Christmas? Easter? Thanksgiving? Don’t act like Christianity doesn’t get coverage. It is literally box office for them. You only got a problem when they speak on Islam without them misinforming their audience? What are you so afraid of?

    This is way more similar to Hindu traditions followed to this day by Brahmins, right from the discipline, dress and even the hymns
    Amazing how similar all religions are....and yet how we fight in its name, without realizing that GOD is the ultimate truth, regardless of how we refer to God.

    how do muslims believe that mary was a virgin and bore a son ? but they don't believe he was concieved by the holy spirit (God) and became man ? how can they believe that ? how do they explain Jesus ? a prophet ? really. idk

    • @fatimaabdullahi204
      @fatimaabdullahi204 3 роки тому +9

      Because as Muslims we believe in god the almighty the one who created the heavens and the earth. He is one, we associate none with god, meaning he is able to do whatever he wills. Prophet Jesus (may peace be upon him) was a prophet who we muslims revere as a prophet of god similar to all to the rest of the prophets. These prophets were given given revealation from god through Gabriel ( an angel ). Hope that clarifies some of your questions. Surely you can research further if I cannot answer your question :)

      @Andy Ron I think you're getting 3rd century early catholic church dogma mixed up with what the bible actually says. Who else is Jesus praying in the garden of Gethsemane? God and Allah are the same thing: titles, like king and Queen. And if there was a Hell, how come it's never mentioned in the Bible? Unless you are referring to Ghenna ( along with Hades and Sheol) that has been changed to the word Hell. The reason I say Gehenna is that it's reference to the burning garbage dump once located outside Jerusalem, where criminal bodies were tossed.
