    For anyone curious about a secondary use for the cherry brine...make fermented pickles or onions

    Great video. I love their dish soap citrus. I was searching for your cranberry juice video to pass along and can’t find it. I was 100% sure I learned it from you. I love it. If you didn’t I’m sorry bothering you. I just didn’t want to post if I was wrong. Just a note of all the homesteads I watch my husband will stick around for yours. 😂

    I made maraschino cherries years ago when I was pregnant with my first child. I had such morning sickness,I remember having to stir and bring to a boil ( mine was 3 days to do that) and I was never so glad to be done with those cherries!
    They are absolutely delicious!!!

    I love your music! I also love how you encourage people to put up food and you don't need to have a garden to do it. Just find good sources. Local is best. We don't have near by amish but we do have farmers markets everywhere. I need to get connected Azure

    I love watching Azure hauls, I went to add the lemon essential oil and will try one of the butters. I so wish we could get the cherries, they don’t ship to CA and a lot of other items and plants :(

    To prevent the stained fingers, I use gloves while pitting cherries.

    I am so jealous. I order cherries and the whole box was ruined. Smelled fermented and was slimy. I had so many things planned. Now I wanna marshino cherries on that list. Also did you know u can dehydrate the stems for teas?

    • @terryhenderson424
      @terryhenderson424 5 місяців тому +2

      I have never heard of dehydrating cherry stems for teas; thank you! - Many moons ago, during a time of financial plenty, I looked at how much in scraps I was turing into in-ground compost, pouring down the drain, etc... so challenged myself to find ways to utilize a number of the "scraps". Some were absolute taste bud failures, some worked in limited quantity, and some were forever hits. This period of experimentation has also helped in times of lean.

      @terryhenderson424 I can't remember who I read it from. But am thinking it was an email from a blog of someone's. But I Google benefits of cherry stem tea and read it there too.

      I had no clue you could do that. I am always looking for new tea ideas. I will definitely be trying that with my next batch of cherries.

    May I please ask I live in the UK, what do you use liquid Aminos for?
    Thank You x

    • @sparkmanhomestead
      @sparkmanhomestead  5 місяців тому +1

      Liquid aminos is a substitution for soy sauce. I use it instead of soy sauce (honestly tastes the same just less salty). It’s still a soy product just made a little bit different (no grains). I like it because it is non gmo and gluten-free.

      @@sparkmanhomestead Great, Thank you, I stopped using Soy Sauce because it was so salty, I will have to see if I can get it here in the UK or on Amazon x
