    Agree with everyone.. Yamaha all the way. Simple, light, and sturdy, no fuzzy gimmicks. The bag is big enough to squeeze in a pedal and a *small* stool too. just fantastic.
    Flat based stands are just for looks. Too many limitations for the gigging drummer.
    Also after playing for 20 years I've come to appreciate how Yamaha hardwares tend to retain the same look for decades, makes it easy to mix and match.
    Much different approach then other companies that change style every 2 years. They get dated real fast.

    Excellent video Mattia! This was just the kind of information and comparisons I was hoping to find on UA-cam. Thanks for keeping to the point, and helping me decide on the Yamaha pack I already had my sights on.

    Involved with a couple of concert bands which have rehearsals in high schools so normally use their drum kits except that i bring my own snare. Got a Yamaha light weight snare stand to reduce weight. Is excellent. However since i play traditional grip, i have the snare tilted. It is a 6 1/2" Ludwig Black Beauty, which means the stand becomes top heavy. So only criticism is that the legs have to be placed for forward stability.

    What I did I got the DW 6000 hihat stand , the regular one the ultralight is not the best. Luckily, my friend at the Drum shop really hooked me up with the better high hat stand.

    Have you used either pack with your Roland VDrums? Curious with how you mount the electric cymbals with the lightweights.

      @MattiaDrums  Рік тому +1

      Hi there! I never tried but I think it will be tricky since my Roland kit has some specific mount for the cymbals

    This video is ironic in my case cause I'm actually going to my local drum shop tomorrow to switch from the DW to the Yamaha. I also got the hi hat stand as well.

      I had a Pearl d790 and I used some PDP thrones and they’re pretty light

      @@MattiaDrums I haven't owned the DWs, but I've done a fair amount of rehearsals on a friend's kit with them. I do own the Yamahas (about 2+ years now, I think), and aside from the lack of tension adjustment on the hihat stand, I find the Yamahas to be better overall.

    • @MattiaDrums
      @MattiaDrums  3 роки тому

      Great! I agree with you, I’m just curious to see how they’ll age

      @@MattiaDrums Yeah, I gigged with them pretty extensively, before COVID hit. The finish on the Crosstown stands tends to get scratched up pretty easily, compared to chrome. But they still seem more stable than the DWs. Though the DWs do look like they may fold up smaller.
      Yamaha stuff tends to be pretty reliable, in my experience. I currently own/use the Crosstown stands, some 700 series stands, a Hexrack II, and I've owned a bunch of 800 and 900 series stands in the past. DW is usually cool, though I've had a few issues with them.

      Cool Man, I love how solid and reliable is Yamaha Hardware, I do love the DW 5000 series throne tho, and I would like to get one of the 5000 pedals

    I owned both DW 6000 Ultralight and Yamaha HW3 Crosstown. Yamaha H3 Crosstown is far superior in every aspect! The DW 6000 seemed cheap and unstable.
