I think I had Erwinia at the crown of one of my Amaryllis bulbs late last year/earlier this year. It was a fast-progressing, mushy, and disgusting SOB. I didn't want to lose my bulb, but I didn't really know what to do or how to treat it, if that was even possible. Out of desperation, I decided to spray it with hydrogen peroxide from a small bottle I have. I did not bother to dilute. It fizzed up right away. The next day it looked a bit better already. I sprayed it again once a day over the next couple of days. It saved my bulb, and it actually started to grow! What's so exciting about it is that I accidentally found a treatment/cure by accident out of desperation. It's a great feeling! 😁
You are right about 1000s of irises after a few years. 30yrs ago I started with just a few and gave away 1000 one summer. Didn't look like any were missing. )) 5 yrs later, its time again to do the same. Mine are under big bushes but get morning sun till noon on east side of the house. Those in the back don't seem to care about sun time, half shade or full shade all day... still happy and gorgeous. N.W. Indiana. First I ever heard about rebloomers ))))) I will try for the medium ht whites (novo silver??) Majority here are two shades of purple. Fabulous show first of June.
If you are growing a clump for "stock" I assume they are not blooming well because they are too crowded. That is probably a good thing correct? It seems like by not allowing flowering it would help the rhizome to grow bigger/ stronger.
I've heard that re-bloomers need to be "dug up' and separated every one/two years...somewhat sooner than standard bearded iris? This video indicates every five/six years for separating rhizomes, and because it's about (title) *_re-bloomers_* , this information is confusing and conflicts with other sources.
Enjoyed your podcast. I appreciate your expertise 👍👍👍👍

I loved this. I no longer have a yard or a garden but iris are my favorite things in the world. Great information.

You truly love these plants 🪴 ❤
Thank you for an informative video. Would love a catalog from your farm
I just went on their website and don’t think they sell Iris anymore
Were I can buy that Iris?
When do you prune reblooming irs. And how do you prune them

What about those iris types that grow super fast and produce tons of blooms more so than regular iris?
How do you know the category 3? To order? In Canada
I watched the show on Bearded Iris…you live south…I’m in Canada, central Alberta…So..does your rules apply to us as well?

It seems like digging in July, the new bulbs wouldn’t be big enough to replant. Mine aren’t big enough until late August.
